This might be the closest we ever get to an ARMA level mission editor with DCS. Holy shit… 🙌🎉 Really looking forward to getting my hands on this, so I can incorporate it to replace what is for me the worst part of DCS mission building. Being able to take my mission templates, with things like MOOSE and StopGaps to just build the world, and the pivoting over to this for actual gameplay is going to be incredible.
@@alcmann Rather than Zeus, this reminds me more of MCC, an Arma mod that predated Zeus by quite a bit. Even the feature set advertised in this video is more similar to MCC. I suspect Zeus would not have come to be without MCC showing the value of real-time player procured content. There is a 'game master' role in combined arms, but it's so severely lacking it's not really worth the name right now. Maybe that will change because of this.
THIS could be the ultimate boost for DCS, I would even pay for this if it really works like shown in the video! Imho missionbuilding the 'old way' becomes very soon masochistic. Zeus for DCS? I WANT IT!!! ;-)
but u basically need a player to play the HQ kinda.. which is ok for me, i think DCS needs some sort of another game that links to DCS, so you have this strategic, tactical game and DCS is the enforcer where actual blowing up comes together.. I think some sort of totally new 2D game with strategic and tactical level is needed, so in real time with time being real, a whole set of new players control units and send them to mission, and plan accordingly due to recon available data and strategies they choose, and us players flyers would just jump in the plane at any particular moment and play our part.
I am speechless. This is beyond amazing. That mod could open up so many mission concepts that were prohibitively hard to do. Not so much because they were impossible, but because they were so hard to balance and test. Especially ground operations with CAS and helicopter support will benefit so much from this.
Yeah this is pretty darn awesome! It will make flying missions much easier and enjoyable. When I set up missions for videos, I often think.. oh damn! I should have added this… or that needs to move to a different spot etc. Then I need to exit, edit the mission, push the time to my server, add it, restart, etc. Love this mod and the guys seem great! Also, I guessed correctly (just sayin’).
This really is a game changer. I've had a few times on Grayflag server where Graywolf or another admin starting controlling redfor and launching unexpected attacks on our airbases with enemy armor and aircraft, or coordinating air defense at the objectives we're attacking and leaving SAM's turned off until we are well within their engagement zone. It is easily the most fun I've had playing DCS
This will be so useful when the DCS Ai does a DCS'ism we have flown a whole sortie and on the way back to the boat the tanker has decided its time to land or doesn't respond etc. Having the ability to spawn in a new one and send it to us would be amazing
ED is sadly very much lacking in Gameplay department, DCS needs a HQ update, meaning serious HQ add-on, where players would just do the numbers, how many divisions we have, supply routes, recon, suppression ,SEAD, jamming, entranchment of units, etc.. the whole deal.. right now its as barren as it was 20 yrs ago
This mod reminds me of MCC, a mod for Arma. It was around for a long time for Arma 2 (possibly Arma 1) before well into the life of Arma 3 they made Zeus. This video advertises a remarkably similar feature set compared to MCC.
Looks to be a great new addition to making dynamic pop-up threats responding. Always liked the idea of an inactive SAM site moving into a new area and going active.
Excellent presntation, Casmo and thanks a lot to Veltro and the gang (you guys know who you are) for making a revolutionary product and a dream come true.
The idea of a dynamic LSCO style multiplayer Mission in DCS has been my dream for so long. I just wished the Combined Arms Module could receive more love and attention. As much as I love flying the AH-64 and how much fidelity and detail Eagle Dynamics put into this module, I don't just wanna do preset missions the whole time shooting at predictable targets. I want to be able to do other things as well. Adding the ability to spawn random enemies on the map in realtime would be a dream. Just imagine a flight of Kiowa's from an Air Cavalry Squadron providing early warning of enemy activity to the Ground Commander. Then having the players flying Apache's including any other additional rotary and fixed-wings destroy/delay the enemy. And all of a sudden the Game Master decides to spawn some Su-25's and MiG-29's out of nowhere and have it attack the Main Body. Now it's the fixed-winged player's task to take them out. Or imagine if they add playable infantry in the distant future. The thought of supporting Blackhawks in an Air Assault Operation would be absolutely amazing.
Hopefully soon some functionality to add objectives. Or static buildings and attach goals or mission targets with completion messaging etc. Thanks for the upload

Is it possible to semi-RTS the AI while playing as a game master ? Let's say I got 2 Flankers on cap; against a lone wolf player. Instead of barreling in towards an enemy like what the standard AI does. I can perhaps have the Flankers cap around a geographic point, and when approached I'd make them go pincer against that solo guy, or even go cold if at a disadvantage.
