    Nice setup. Hopefully I can build something similar when i find some property for myself in a couple years. I'm looking at colder versions of fish, vegetable crops and more efficient greenhouse designs for my canadien cold winter.

      Thanks. This is a Ceres Passive Solar greenhouse which would be good to consider for your climate. www.ceresgs.com. Feel free to contact us if you want to discuss your project further. sales@theaquaponicsource.com

    How often if ever do you have to physically clean out the bead filter?
    What are some of the potential weak points of the bead filter?

      never... There is a sludge drain that you will need to open into a bucket usually once a day. For this system we would likely remove about 3 gallons of water a day. This sludge/water then gets added to the aerobic mineralization tank. Otherwise that's it. The filter is self cleaning by the addition of air into the chamber which will periodically cause the filter to backwash all of the bead media and flush the solids into the settling chamber for removal through the valve I just mentioned.

    This is awesome. What is the cost to build a system like this?

    • @aquaponicgardening
      @aquaponicgardening  2 года назад +1

      Depending on options, a system like this can range between $25 to $35 a square foot. That price is turnkey and includes installation.
