After over a year of looking for a new studio and workshop space for The Geek Pub we bought a property that will soon become our new home. This has been a hard secret to keep!!!
We plan on sharing some of this space with The 8-Bit Guy the community. In addition to housing our studios and workshop, we'd like to eventually host a retro-computer and arcade museum!

I actually really like the reception desk and the wood panelling behind it in the entry area, actually really nice looking. Should see if you can save it by moving the desk backwards or something .
Can't be called geekPUB without turning the desk into a bar with sine optics on the wall behind it... Perfect for meet up and events 👌
Some nice comfy seating with tables and a really cook "GeekPub" neon sign, but if not a legit neon, they now do really nice looking LED 'Neons' in any shape/size/colour.
Would be such a cool welcome and hangout spot. And avoid eating and drinking around all your expensive 'museum' equipment.
Put a nice black tint on the windows with some really nice LED's under the desk/bar ledge with some nice vintage lamps scattered on the tables with the fancy looking decorative Edison bulbs for some warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Could be such a killer spot for meet ups, couple of old arcade or pinball machines in the area too

Awesome! Every room in this building feels huge! And the reception desk looks like a perfect spot for those parts of the videos where you talk about general things without doing hands-on stuff!
This building is fantastic, i can’t wait to see all the videos you make getting this building set up and once it’s all done.

This is so rad! I am so jealous of this space. I have been slowly upgrading my two car garage but the thing i could do with this space!!!! OMG! To bad I live in one of the most overpriced real estate markets in the US. Maybe some day.

Woop woop. Congratulations. We moved into a ~750sq ft space last year and it feels tiny already. Since online shopping finally became "the" thing warehouse space is now at an all time high. That and business rates in the UK are suffocating. Can't wait to see you guys develop this. Keep us up to date! Loved the printer "side quest" :P

Consider build some hobby projects (PCB, Tee's, Toys or refurbish of retro-machine and sold to people which want to acquire) and get some cash to maintain the expenditure.
Wow. Huge news for you guys! Huge projects and Huge potential. The comments about power ... better size it to have a Tesla charger. 😁 Brick building also, which is nice and secure. Standalone, so no shared walls either.
In the not so distant future, a famous RUclipsr known to his subscribers simply as The Photocopier. Guy sheds silent tears as he watches the one machine he needed for his collection being brutally savaged in an ancient video(because this is how the RUclips Algorithm works). "It didn't even need retrobrighting",he whimpered.
That's a really nice building... lots of space... but we all know how to fill up all available space don't we?
In case you were curious, that pulley system in the shop appears to be so you can lift bicycles up for storage.

I've done the hanging patch panel a couple of times at work when leaving offices. Not gonna rip out the patch panel or anything since they're cheap and that'd be a bit of a jerk move for the next tenant, but but definitely taking the rack itself.

You guys could put on screen the value in metric systems. I love your channels, but I'm from Brazil and I have a hard time to think on Imperial measures, and I need to keep converting measurements when you guys talk about it... Would be just nice to add the value in metric on screen... but, still... I love both channels...
That's really great feedback! I'll try to keep that in mind. All of my arcade videos already have both Imperial and Metric. It never crossed my mind to do it in these though!
That copier could have just went right on FB marketplace for a scrapper to haul away for free rather than blow out your back trying to move it!
False. We called numerous places and they all wanted hundreds of dollars to come get it.

I highly don't agree with the destruction of that copy machine. At least it could have served as a parts machine for you or someone else. Is it okay just to throw out the toner?

That copier was gold for an electronics geek! Why did you do that, come on those things are built like a tank: high quality power supply, nice thru mount components could be salvaged in many many ways! Loved the video but thumbs down for that.
We called several recycling companies. They all wanted to charge us over $500 to take it. Next time, I'll call you.

And considering how resourceful you and Dave are I am sure you could have put to use quite a lot of stuff coming out of that old copier: power supply, switches, nice quality caps, etc. Keep up the great content and thank you for the video!

I think a lot of that space is wasted by the large bathroom and kitchen. Probably too much trouble to remove cabinets and move walls around.
Yes, because its a slab foundation and the pluming are in the very two walls you'd want to move.

dont toss that qolsys alarm panel. great panel rated for commercial burglary and acts as a touch interface for all z wave devices.
I wish I lived in the Metroplex, because I would love to have that reception desk or either of those ugly cubicles.

could have left it outside the dumpster area.. put out word that its there and let some scrapper come get it to recycle it instead of polluting the landfill with those toner cartridges. you could have taken the toners to a dropoff place instead of tossing them. toner shouldnt be tossed in the trash really
