I just noticed, After Sonic broke its armor, It started to run away from him, Sonic literally put an fear into the spider like how Vegeta put fear into Android 19! man, Sonic team literally brought Sonic's Badassery!
Honestly, the best part of the Spider battle is probably the transition to its second phase (seen at 0:33): Spider: *has its feet disabled* Sonic: Gotcha now! *attacks the body* Spider: NOPE. INITIATING YEET PROTOCOL. Sonic: The what protocol- *is yeeted a good mile or two into the heavens*
This is my personal favorite Guardian boss. There's this sort of creep factor in both design and movement that gives it life. The errie BGM gives emphasis to the creep factor and keeps me on edge the entire time. The sky diving section or gimmick is very creative and gives the music new life. As the sky diving segment ends and the BGM returns to normal, the "Spider" starts to just move around frantically with no rhyme or reason; adding a whole new level of "uncanny valley"
of all the minibosses this is my favorite for the creativity they had in combat Edit: he may seem like an insignificant being but he proves to be a person full of surprises.
It's eggman tech from sonic and knuckles, why this boss is using it is beyond me, although its probably just because they reused the forces version of it without considering the lore implications. Shame because recoloring it blue would've made it clear its not eggman tech rather than a poorly reused asset.
This game kinda gives me sonic heroes vibes now imagine a skill tree for power and fly characters, they could do switching like genshin but ofc sega won’t let sonic team

Edit: so, upon looking closely, it actually shows up much earlier than what I originally thought...
Don't know why they reused the forces light rings, recoloring it blue would've saved us from the confusion of why the boss is using egg man tech. Same with the eggman bumpers that randomly appear on the island
I'm fed up with the lack of depth perception in this game! I feel like a friggin cyclops playing basketball! I just can't do it anymore! I'm so angry I bought this hot garbage!
Personally for me it's the Best out of all of them. The chunky Movement, going in close to disable it's weapons, dodging while attacking, the Uncanny Music. Literally everything about this Boss is awesome, except the second Phase 🗿

I honestly love how sonic looks shocked when he's launched, even the minibosses feel more of a threat than every boss in the 2000s-2010s

the egg bumpers were porbably created by sage cuz she is techinically eggman tech.

The bumpers and reusing objects is just for the sake of the gameplay, i don't think it has spmething to do with the story
Those light rings are an asset from Sonic 3 and Knuckles' Death Egg Zone. They look like that because they've looked like that for 30 years.
