Zooey Deschanel, Mindy Kaling and more Comedy Actresses on THR's Roundtable | Emmys 2014

- Funny ladies Zooey Deschanel (New Girl), Emmy Rossum (Shameless), Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project), Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting (The Big Bang Theory), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie) and Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black) are our roundtable guests.
"I used to have a tape of embarrassing moments that would play through my head constantly but I have since shutoff that tape," Zooey Deschanel shares with the roundtable about her most embarrassing moments. 'The Office' alum, Mindy Kaling, had a different embarrassing experience when she lied about being able to dance and sing professionally in order to get a role in a Bollywood musical. "I've since then tried to find the tape of it because I am so embarrassed it of it surfacing online," Kaling said. While other stars spill their embarrassing stories and tales from broadway auditions, Emmy Rossum shares an interesting and slightly insulting fan experience she had once had. "Some people tell me that I am so much prettier on T.V.," the 'Shameless' star shares. "I guess when I don't wear any make up and I look hungover or whatever people can be like really mean." For Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, it more about the interaction she has with her live studio audience. "Johnny [Galecki] and I started about five years ago, halfway through our tapings we go up in the audience and talk to everybody," 'The Big Bang Theory' star said. "It actually has helped me tremendously and we go up there halfway through the show and when things start to get a little bit of a lull and people start to get tired and the second-half of the show soars." The first acting inspiration that Edie Falco experienced was when she was in high school and went on a trip to watch the musical 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.' "It's just phenomenal and the music is so powerful." Falco said of her experience. " I was a different person leaving that theater than going in.

Everything Mindy has to say is so intelligent and thoughtful, I totally came for her
"Phrasing!" -Archer
I only came for her
Zooey Deschanel acts like a 5 year-old in desperate need of attention.
It
Me too
Mindy Kaling definitely seems the most real out of all of them. She's gorgeous and hilarious!
I think they all seem quite genuine, especially considering they've all been through hair/wardrobe/makeup, have cameras on them, and are promoting their (at the time) current projects.
@@Plusse well she has to be, she's the only brown person in that room, if she's mean or weird, or attention seeking, she becomes all the other people's understanding of what an indian person is like
@@zurzakne-etra7069 - Who are you referring to when you say "all the other people"? And how do you know that they all think Indian people are "mean or weird, or attention seeking"?
In awe of Mindy's film/TV knowledge, thoughtfulness and eloquence. Very inspiring woman.
Can I just say: I love Mindy. She is one of the funniest, most genuinely wonderful and creative people on TV right now. And also: Emmy is amazing and I really love how she sticks up for not only who she is herself but also for other women (like Mindy :D)
I really appreciate that Taylor Schilling is trying to prompt the other actors to speak rather than trying to speak over everyone else. I think that's really classy. She seems lovely.
Mindy Kaling is an superbly eloquent woman and she is such a delight to listen to.
i feel like mindy was the only person who was funny without trying hard. "you're ugly and fat and it's so refreshing to us!" lmao!! bursted out laughing! love mindy!
Mindy Kaling is so refreshing! I could hear her talk for a whole hour...I wish Taylor Schilling talked more, I really wanted to know more about her!
i love when mindy talks, I could listen to her for hours.
For sure!
I had to laugh when she was reassuring Kaley Cuoco, telling her she did *not* have a terrible voice. All I could think of was that one line in The Mindy Project when one of the characters (and it could be "Mindy" herself) describes the Dr. Mindy character as having the voice of a cartoon mouse. I giggle at that line every time I see the episode in re-runs!! :-D
How can anyone say Mindy is ugly? She's absolutely gorgeous, cute, smart, funny. What goes on in some people's heads?
She's funny and cool but is not physically attractive to a lot of people
To be fair, she does not look your typical attractive girl, and sadly some people only ever see the physical appearance to judge some as ugly or pretty and do not care for talent or inner personality.
Alex B You should say "some men don't care" because a big part of them do. You should say "some women care" because a big part of them don't care about it. Caring or not about physical attractiveness and its conventions is a trait determined by how a person was brought up and its experiences, not determined automatically by whether you are a man or a woman.
Dino You thought I meant literally every men and every women. what are you 5?
Dino You got a lot to learn dino.
Mindy Kaling and Emmy Rossum are all kinds of perfect 💜
I came away from watching this with a new admiration for Mindy Kaling. I thought she seemed the only one interested in having a serious conversation about the biz. But, she is the only showrunner in the group. The next Roundtable should be actor/producer/directors.
Absolutely! She was at the wrong table. I want to see her with Issa Rae, Natasha Rothfwell, Tina Fey and the like. Writers, producers, the minds behind our favorite shows
Did you not watch all the girls answering questions of their personal experience? I understand Mindy was great, but everyone has their own inputs, feelings, and personal stories.
It's important to understand that while the other actresses all act in roles where comedy may be involved, Mindy is, I believe, the only one who writes and produces comedies as well as acting in them. That makes a difference... she's used to writing funny lines as well as delivering them on tv or films, whereas the majority of the others are used to delivering the funny lines written for their characters by others.
love mindy!!! legit feel like she was the only person who actually answered the questions !
it's interesting how everyone stops and listens intently everytime mindy talks
Thanks THR for this.
Mindy Kaling is such a delight to listen to; she cuts through the murkiness with such clarity and underplayed insight.
Stacey Wilson as the moderator was so pleasant to watch and listen to. The only downside being her being cut off by emmy rossum right when it seemed like Wilson had something more interesting to say.
Taylor you are totally a deep thinker and person. That is why you are the best. We need more Taylor Schilling's in the world.
Is it just me or are the actress roundtables always infinitely more charming, entertaining, and brilliantly informative than that of their male counterparts?
It's just you. They need to stop inviting Zooey Deschanel back.
ahabsaleh92
I thought she did alot better here than the previous comedy actress roundtable she'd been a part of. She's awkward, that's for sure, but I actually find it charming. Whatever cookie-cutter kind of run-of-the-mill "pretty chick" you'd rather her be, she obviously is not, and takes pride in not being. The OITNB chick didn't seem all that articulate, either. All in all, they're all cute, smart, humble, and talented enough to deserve to be where they are, unlike Cecily Strong in that one comedy roundtable. lol
Bfuckin7 My problem is not that "She's awkward, that's for sure, but I actually find it charming. Whatever cookie-cutter kind of run-of-the-mill "pretty chick" you'd rather her be, she obviously is not, and takes pride in not being.".
It's that she talks over everyone else. Still, at least New Girl is a comedy. Shameless and Orange is The New Black aren't. Taylor Schilling clearly didn't belong there.
not at all. the women always interrupt each other.
In general, I do find women more fascinating than me, but with that said, some men are very fascinating, charming, entertaining. Like, I personally found this roundtable a bit underwhelming. There are other roundtables with men who could run circles around these women in terms of charming and entertaining. But I could also pick out other women from other roundtables who did a much better job.
i love mindy kaling even more after watching this. her insights were really good and interesting.
I could listen to Mindy Kaling talk all day, I have the opposite sentiments for Zooey Deschanel.
Listen to her audio book- why not me. I actually felt like i could listen to her all day..you will find it on RUclips for free:)
@@HoneyPatchworks and weirdly enough, I didn’t think I wouldn’t like her personality, but I don’t like her personality.
I admire and love Mindy so much
Man, me tooooo!! She is such a lovely, and inspirational woman... I look up to her in so many ways, and what I would give to actually be friends with her! OMG :)
I loved listening to them. Mindy, Emmy and Taylor were my favorites
I am in all sorts of love with Emmy Rossum.
I think Mindy is lovely.
I love Mindy Kaling
Mindy is a talented actor and writer.
Mindy Kaling is the only real comedian on this roundtable and it shows
Just thinking the same thing.... Clearly funnier, when they are playing a comedy role.
They are all actresses on a comedy show, that qualifies them as comedians.. I think Zoeey Deschanel is really funny in new girl
Hence comedy actress
Well, there is a difference between being a comedian and being an actor who does comedy (which some see as interchangeable, but I see a difference). With that said, I think they are all "funny" people. Like if this were just regular people hanging out, they'd be "funny-ish". Definitely not the life of the party and certainly not at the "comedian" level of people who do comedy not as a role on TV/film but as an actual career. If you got a group of actual comedians who, say, do standup, or have made their careers first and foremost as comedians, I can't see any of these actresses even coming close to being in their ranks, but that goes for many men who do comedy in TV/film, too. You see them in real life and they aren't that funny. Mindy is funnier than most, but I believe that's because she's not just an actress who does comedy, but she writes comedy, too, so all that adds notches to your belt. I feel that to be a "comedian" you need to *WRITE* comedy. To me, she is the only actual comedian. Not to say she's the BEST comedian of all time, or even a big league comedian, but she is a comedian in the classical sense (or at least my definition), and the others are just actresses who do comedy.
It's because she writes
I really appreciate what everyone has to say so it's frustrating that Zoey keeps interrupting (and shouting?). I want to hear what she have to say but also what everyone else has to say. I really want Mindy Kaling's inner thoughts right now bc I know she's thinking it too.
That was the job of the interviewers/moderators to draw out the actors who were being quiet, and interrupt those who were taking over the conversation. THR needs to use better interviewers/moderators in these videos.
I'm not an interested in being an actress or anything but the person who first got me into loving musicals was Emmy Rossum when she was in The Phantom of the Opera. It was the first Musical I saw and I've loved all musicals ever since. THANK YOU MS. ROSSUM!
YES!! SAME!!
Not gonna lie, I love and respect all of these women but I saw the picture of Emmy Rossum and couldn't not click this. She's brilliant and so, so underrated.
Anja Mortensen why tho?
@@lonncat766 She's awesome acting, for a start.
Agreed!
So happy he had help as an interviewer. He tends to blow it with female actress and ask low ball questions. Then ask quality questions to men. THR - great decision giving him someone to help him.
And Minday Kaling - you brought me and 60% of the audience to this video! Thanks for being GREAT, working hard, and being rock star.
Kaling is the person I'd love to sit down and have a coffee with.
I'm here just for Tylor Schilling.. I can be 24 hrs watching her faces... and her laugh... oh my... I love her so much
Zooey strikes me as the person who will literally make up a story or agree with people just for the sake of "contributing" to the conversation? - Like she loves listening to the sound of her own voice. You can tell the wise and mature one was Mindy, who sat back and listening instead of constantly trying to get her opinion in.
I think she is just a little awkward in situations like this.
It’s just not just about being wise and mature. You have to be brave and vulnerable too which is very very difficult. Comedy writing or even specific Standup writing makes you more bold and courageous than ever thus I can tell Mindy is more brave than other actresses but simply because she has practiced that so many times cause she writes, anyways that’s how I think about this
I love everything and anything to do with Mindy Kaling.
I feel like Amy Poehler would have been an awesome addition to this roundtable!!
why is the one non white actress, who is on an ACTUAL comedy show that she CREATED, relegated to a back corner in the photoshoot? she is a standout amongst these women but is not being celebrated for it
MINDY IS QUEEN.
I didn't seem to think that they were trying to outdo each other, I actually felt that when one gave one answer and the others would jump to give their insights was more like “yeah, I've been there I can correlate to what you're saying” more so than “my story is better than yours.” Honestly, have you guys never had conversations with your friends? Do you guys just go around the circle and give each other's opinions one by one? I would imagine not or hope not at least, otherwise I'd suggest, find new friends? And I'm probably the Zooey at times, not trying to speak more than others, but like someone else mentioned, speak so it relaxes and makes everyone else comfortable to give their opinion as well even though I'm as terrified to speak as the person next to me.
Dude, this is RUclips. Please gtfo with your rational observations. We're here to form snap opinions about these people based on a single roundtable interview (and possibly limited knowledge of their work as actresses). Exercising even a shred of humanity, compassion, or empathy is for losers. Not amazing people like me, you stupid shitbag. So I'll unfairly judge these accomplished actresses all I want, thank you very much!!
Fernando Angon agreed!!
my thoughts exactly thank you!
Literally!! They all had things to say and I didn't think any of them were being rude, I enjoyed listening to all of them!!
Mindy and Edie are in a whole 'nother league of actresses. They're more knowledgeable, mature and just bring more to the table in general. I feel like its kinda of a waste to put them in this group... I do like the other women and their shows. I'm not trying to be rude, but it just seems they're stuck in their late teens talking about "looking fat", "the sound of their voices" and being "prettier in real life".
I totally agree. Kaley too. I wish it was those 3 alone. Sometimes the groups are too big. Women just talk over each other. So annoying.
Emmy Rossum is brilliant and seriously underrated
Allen Younge why?
I got the opposite vibe. I found her off putting and such a strong sense of fake.
I love how the older actors on all these roundtables are willing to sit and listen as the youngest tries to get the most attention. Every time.
Everything about Mindy 💓
Mindy Kaling is clearly so much smarter than the rest of these women (aside maybe from Edie Falco) and has so much more to offer insight-wise, as she produces, creates, and writes as well as acts. Being able to create the roles she plays means she is at nobody's mercy to cast her in a plum part or series; she can continue to make ones for herself if and when she chooses to do so.
Just to be clear... you're gauging the intelligence of all of these women based on a promotional roundtable? And possibly their work as comedic actresses as well? Do I have that right?
I'm sorry, but which one these people other than Mindy Kaling is an actual comedian?
Being a Comedian and a Comedic actress is a completely different thing. All of the women here are Comedic Actresses.
I don't watch Big Bang Theory, but I found Kaley to be such a beautiful spirit. Zooey is too much for me. But apparently she's been that way since she was 2.
Came here for Mindy and wow as expected, everything she says is so intellectual. Love Mindy
+Lazy Simpson Taylor's Bae.

I love these actresses in their respective television shows, but the one who I can stand is only Mindy Kaling. She is right down classy and funny.
can you link all the parts with mindy kaling?
IFrameRodger
That's kind of a vulgar thing to say, since you're trash. Are you saying you want her inside you??
blahzaze
Come backs are meant to be simple my friend. But keep trying.
IFrameRodger
that was simple but I guess not simple enough for you :\
I'll be more inclusive next time
I understood what you said perfectly. But come backs are generally meant to be clean and swift. Yours was not. Try again next time.
IFrameRodger
awww it's okay bb you don't have to be defensive
Have to say that after watching I love Mindy & Eddie even more. Mindy is hilarious as usual
Mindy Kaling, is, fucking, amazing.
she's just fucking perfect
Chloe Silverado
I really think so as well. I just loved listening to her answers.
There should be a "couples" roundtable. Ex. Mindy & Danny, Jess & Nick, Penny & Leonard, Piper & Alex etc...
Piper & Alex *-*
Eww Jess and Nick the reason why I no longer watch New Girl. and I might not watch Mindy Project because of Mindy and Danny..but I love Mindy so much so I probably will continue to watch that show. I don't get why they must force male best friend evolving into a relationship down our throats.
Who should Emmy be with? Justin Chatwin? Jake McDorman? Steve Kazee? She has too many love interests in Shameless.
normandyangel jess and nick aren't together anymore but ya I sorta agree
Just Chilin I know seen then I've begin watching them again...
I cant't believe Mindy didn't get an emmy nom this year :(
Mindy Kaling definitely seems the most real out of all of them. She's gorgeous and hilarious!
I never want to hear Zooeys voice again - she's so rude and interrupting
I think she's just really socially awkward
She and her sister (chick from Bones) both talk like they're jumping on a trampoline. They unnecessarily go UP and down and UP and down with no logic to their changes in tone those dozen times each sentence.
Antony Viktor she just thinks she is so awesome. Ugh annoying!
Wow u guys can tell a lot about some1 just from there voice
I love zooey
Taylor is so sweet and patient, love her
Mindy is so funny, no wonder she wrote the best episodes from the office
I just won't accept that Orange is the new black is a comedy. I know that it has amazing funny one liners and everything, but you can't really compare it to e.g. big bang theory. I would much rather see OITNB in drama..
katariinas Agreed. Its not really a comedy... ... and if it is, its not because of the main character lol
katariinas I dont know.. I suppose its what you like. Honestly I view it the opposite- as big bang having the one-liners and OITNB to be more broadly funny. Personally for me im not a huge fan of big bang for this reason, that it prefers one linres to content (its just not my thing!). Whereas for sure orange can be heartbreaking much my laugh is much fuller when watching than in any kind of sitcom style show
+katariinas Compared to The Big Bang Theory, ANYTHING is a comedy. But joking aside, it is very strange how OITNB has been put in a genre category it clearly has no business being in. It's almost like some media mogul is scared the show's overt LGBTQ and feminist themes will be a bit too much for, what they perceive to be, a largely conservative audience to take.
Ham-fisted Media Mogul: "Hmm, there's a lot of gay people on this show, and black people, and borderline anarchist philosophies being espoused...This is going to scare a LOT of people."
PR Joe: "Gee, ah baws, whys don't we jus' tells 'em it's a com-ah-dee? Huh? Dat ways dey don't gotta take it serious. Huh?"
How is it not a comedy? Because it's in prison and has dramatic moments? LOL God, it's like the only thing you think is a comedy is the type of show that requires you to take your brain out of your head and eat cotton candy while watching it. not every comedy is for airheads.
I came away from watching this with a new admiration for Mindy Kaling. I thought she seemed the only one interested in having a serious conversation about the biz. But, she is the only showrunner in the group. The next Roundtable should be actor/producer/directors.
Wow. Zooey Deschanel is pretty good at talking over people, eh? Emmy too.
Taylor is seriously my favorite human being.
There's something about Taylor's voice that is super soothing to my ears. i love it when she said "so, skip across this bench.." 9.16 I keep repeating that part. I love everything about Taylor here. Her make up, her attitude, her face, all of it. Dont ever change taylor, be your goofy self!
these women are so captivating. the way they talk about their work had me memorized. all of them are amazing and this was a really nice insight into their personalities. esp mindy kaling cause im in love with her!
The Emmys should add new awards categories (show, actors, actresses, etc.) for "dramedy" as 'Shameless' is equal parts drama, equal parts comedy. It and other shows and their lead and supporting actors are perennially being overlooked in both the drama and comedy categories, because of their dual natures.
I did search for Mindy in thr roundtable and I was like if she's not in one I'm gonna be really upset, luckily she's here and I wish for more. Please invite her to join again
sadly, mindy is the only real "comedy" actress there, all the other ones are just actresses.
Edie Falco's show "Nurse Jackie" is categorized as dark comedy.
They are all in comedies (OITNB maybe a stretch), so my definition they are comedy actors. Not all actresses can pull of comedy acting. Its not like anyone is claiming they are comedians, which would be a harder leap.
Zoey Deschanel's still funny
everyone talks like they are in 8th grade accept Mindy Kaling. Plus they are talking over each other.
it's except not accept :D i used to make that mistake all the time when I was starting to learn english :D
Edie Falco is as mature as you'd expect, but rarely gets to talk so we/they don't get to hear her wisdom from experience.
Came here for Mindy. Stayed here for Mindy 😍
I love this so much :) It's so easy to forget that these celebrities are people too and have feelings and that just because they play a certain character on screen doesn't mean that thats how they are in real life.
They are all wonderful actresses, we shouldn't compare them.
This is great, and I love the the spontaneous attitude towards replying the questions. Definitely a great way to meet the actresses off their characters. :)
I've seen a couple of these roundtable videos, and when it's an all female panel, there's not just this one female host. There has to be a guy awkwardly sitting there, and sometimes contributing, or the female host is taken out altogether, and another guy takes over.
The guy looks so awkward!!
I don't understand the dual host thing either, but there's a few all female panels with just a female host. The dude looks maaaddd awkward.
Also more between question cuts to the glamour photo shoots...
ew gross. they should just keep it all girls. more fun that way. or at least a gay guy host
Vasti Flores the drama actress Emmy nominees interview is really good (Kerry Washington, J.Lo, Eva Longoria, Sarah Paulson & more) & there's a single female moderator. But you're so right, it's like they (production) feel the conversation isn't valid unless a man is present.
i absolutely love taylor schilling she is so nice and thoughtful!
of course Mindy is the most likeable and natural. She is a lot more elegant when she speaks. I didn't really dislike anyone really but I enjoyed her speaking the most. Also Taylor could not get a sentence out smoothly at all.. very odd
Because she's clearly an introvert and there's a group discussion happening.
Introverts struggle to get a word in during groups.
I agree, very painful listening to Taylor...
I cannot believe that 16:44 is not the most replayed part of this video because I come back to it REGULARLY. HILARIOUS and relatable. Stan Mindy Kaling.
That was such a nice truthful and genuine video to watch. And i guess, like they were talking about, when people get excited they want to contribute and just say things. Stop hating on Zooey Deschanel my god. Hahaha. Serves me right to read the comments on RUclips . Always ruins the video. Lesson learnt.
at first i was like "Zooey can't be that annoying..." i was wrong
She is awesome , you suck
Only came here for Emmy and Taylor, love those two!
Can someone please upload this without Zooey Deschanel talking.
impossible
Why tho?
yer why i luv all these chics what dos everyone have thing with zoe and who is zooey
I wish Kaley had spoken more, I would've loved to hear more about her auditions etc.
Edie Falco is so elegant.
I agree 100%. She was so classy, put together. I loved that she wasn't interrupting the others; she just listened & was thoughtful in her responses to the questions that were given to her.
Although, there were at times when I thought she looked bored. Sometimes I thought her facial expressions read "The little amateurs. Why am I with this group of girls??" (with the exception of Mindy Kahling)
An honest and informative panel, especially if you stay tubed until the end. It's a lovely combination of voices/comedic genres.
I absolutely adore emmy rossum and mindy kaling!!
I have a whole new respect for Mindy Kaling. And I'm inspired by her.
When Zoey said you can actually I thought it was so rude
She comes across as a know-it-all.
I'm glad everyone ignored her it was rude
actually zoey was right tho
What part are u talking about?
i enjoyed this lmao i don’t think zooey’s that bad this honestly reminds me of my friends talking
Taylor is so quiet in this. Not saying it's a bad thing, just an observation.
Her big-time career just started at the time of this video's filming. Perhaps she felt overwhelmed by actors who have already become famous?
sadly, mindy is the only real "comedy" actress there, all the other ones are just actresses.
Nothing about Zooey from this video was appealing to me. And it's not her deep voice that can lead to misinterpretations but she's quite childish and immature... I cringed every time time she spoke. But on the other hand, Mindy kaling killed this!
Zooey was talking and interrupting way too damn much. She also seemed to be willing to whine more than everyone else.
Completely agree. She may not have been aware of how she was hogging the conversation.
Yeah but that dress tho 😍😍😍
MINDY YOU ARE A QUEEN. Keep doing what you're doing because you are amazing!!
I think taylor schilling is over zooey by 29:26
Saw that. I wonder if she caught herself midway through that she was doing an eye-roll. haha
+zhaquiri it's true 😂😂😂 poor Taylor!
I caught Taylor giving her the eye around 7:50
I think she's just high
Lol, so true ...even Kaley at 35:24 looks annoyed by her dreadful stories..
Emmy Rossum could be also in the Drama Roundtable, her role in Shameless it's simply out of this world. Such a complicated character, and such an underrated performance til now, good for her she finally has the recognicion she deserves.
Mindy is the Best.
Can someone tell me how Orange Is The New Black is considered a Comedy? I watch and love the show but I don't understand why everyone is calling it a comedy. Yes the show has some funny moments but I consider it more of a Drama than a Comedy. I also understand there's a category for Dark Comedy but I don't think Orange is the New Black even fits into that category either.
The same could be said about Shameless and Nurse Jackie. Unless there's a cop solving a murder case, it's considered a comedy.
Sandpaper Snail And yet there's a cop solving sometimes murder cases sometimes in Brooklyn Nine Nine, a comedy. I guess both OITNB and Shameless have a comedy vibe, they're like tragedy-comedy. I actually love that they've amplified the notion of comedies this year. Especially since most half hour sitcoms that haven't been cancelled till now, apart from Modern Family, Mindy Project, and New Girul to some extent, just suck.
it's really just for award season that these shows get defined this way, The people who make these shows don't really know what to call it and don't feel they need to call it anything. the networks will just call it a comedy or drama to best fit in the emmys really.
its definitely a comedy, also a drama
dramedy
Why so quiet, Taylor Schilling? I wanted to hear more of what she had to say!
I wanted to hear more from Edie Falco but I guess she's too polite to interrupt and butt in when someone else is speaking.
Meanwhile the others kept interrupting but really not adding anything different but just jumping on to someone's answer.
I feel like at times they didn't really want to think deeply enough for a more thoughtful answer, instead just going for the obvious or a funny line or a sarcastic or just not wanting to be honest.
When asked about which actress they are jealous of, Zoey immediately says I don't want to be negative like that (or something similar) when the question was not meant that way, but which kinda hijacked the question. I believe it was meant as another way of asking which actor would you most like to be like in terms of career, talent, etc. Which is how Mindy answered it.
At the end when the facilitator asked if any of them wants to ask any others at the table any question and there was nothing b ut silence, it really says a lot for this roundtable. I watched others were the dialogue flowed really well and the participants are so interested in what the others think or experience and if given this question probably would have had to extend the show.
I agree that I too wanted to hear more from Edie Falco. Not only was she more polite, she seemed more thoughtful and with a breadth of experience being on stage and in several hit shows. I wish Emmy Rossum would have allowed the others to answer without interruption or usually having to answer first. I wonder if the questions were less sexist, everyone's responses could have shown more depth. Compare these questions to the program with directors, which included Angelina Jolie as the only female.
I LOoOOOoove these things!!
Can't help but think Taylor would be better suited for the drama category though...
I love these roundtables. Very well done.
Taylor Schilling ♥♥ so cute. I love her
Taylor is so sweet!
