Well, yes. But, this is also a question of character and self confidence. Sure, there will always be someone that is smarter than you, but to surrender immediately for not understanding as born out of self doubt are signs of self preservation being activated rather than intellectual determination; insecurities disguised as submission rather than facing possibility of conflict. Weak, yes, but too coward to admit that you do not know, therefore concluding that agreeableness is most preferable than simple inquiring further.

He was desperate, i realise this, my parents wanted same for me,to be better. I was the kid in class 1 who couldn't understand English, did bad in school ( even failed 1st standard) . This made my mother cry. I used to study in a convent. Then I reattempted class 1, this time in a public school ( private). I was average, not good. I failed class 3 again in that school later. My mother was my teacher and my guide and she fell sick. I used to have like no confidence. But then when she got well she invested more in me, and this time I was also putting in my best to learn. Despite all the self complex i had i tried, even got into a tuition for the first time. This time I did really better, the teacher hugged my mother for such improvement. I used to show my result to everyone whoever visited me.
But this is not what really opened my eyes. I got transferred to another city where I got admission into Kendriya Vidyalaya. What the teachers taught was simple and really easy to understand. For the first time I realised that I can do good this time, earlier all the teachers used to teach in English, and there was a big language barrier between me and the material they were teaching despite the fact it was really easy.
I also understood that I wasn't stupid, that I can do better this time. For the first time I was confident about my studies.
In fact I did my 12 from Kendriya Vidyalaya and I topped in my batch in biology class with 98%. I was really passionate about that subject. This video made me realise what I used to be and how i forgot that. Right now I am studying engineering at BIT n it's a really tough month with numerous exams coming and I was really scared, but I remembered I can do it if I try. But I have to try my best.
Though the kid in video wasn't stupid, in fact he was really smart in another way. The way he memorised everything.
In fact it's not really to judge him or his family, cuz most of us are pretending to be something we are not one time or another.
