You really don't seem to understand how humans work. We are social creatures and we want to fit in. If we get pressured by society to look a certain way, at one point (for many people, but not everyone), they'll break under the pressure and do their best to fit the standard. That is not an educated decision. If it was their own sole decision with no outside pressure then yes, it would've been their choice. But that is probably not the case, especially for idols as their companies might even give them ultimatums(not saying I know 100% how the industry works, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened with everything we know about this and all the other industries where "beauty" is so important).

You really don't seem to understand how humans work. We are social creatures and we want to fit in. If we get pressured by society to look a certain way, at one point (for many people, but not everyone), they'll break under the pressure and do their best to fit the standard. That is not an educated decision. If it was their own sole decision with no outside pressure then yes, it would've been their choice. But that is probably not the case, especially for idols as their companies might even give them ultimatums(not saying I know 100% how the industry works, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened with everything we know about this and all the other industries where "beauty" is so important).
