Hey mate, thanks for the cameo and awesome video you made here. I'm still getting through the epic length and hope to find more games I never knew about as I'm sure i will !
Thx dude , you are probably the first to see it all . If you didnt watch part 1 its also there and thank you for taking the time , the Mega Drive deserved something epic in my opinion 😀👍
@@BastichB64K I did watch the first part when that came out and that was a instant sub. I'm watching part 1 again and probably will watch part 2 yet again in the holidays. And to complement my first message, what I also like about the videos is that you REALLY played most of these games and you actually feel like us 90's kids who weren't afraid of trying many different genres and games, the range of our experiences can't be invented, we either lived through all that or we didn't. And again, your girl is so cute man, congrats!
Thanks for this AWESOME video! The time and effort you have put into this is nothing short of amazing! Still a lot of "new" games to play! Megadrive NEVER DIES!
After your epic 11hr ARCADES lookback last year , GREAT to have another monster retrospective to keep me jolly over christmas !! Wonderful work as usual - and great to keep that gaming spark alive ❤❤❤
The last game I bought was virtua fighter 2. At the time (it was 1998) I was going a lot to arcades to play 3D fighters like soul edge, fighting vipers and tekken 2, so VF2 kinda scratched that itch at home. Few months later my parents bought me the PSX and of course my first game on that console was soul edge.
Here in Argentina (and I guess also in all of latin america), all we had were boootlegs. I never knew that the games were supposed to have manuals until I was an adult. Even most of the consoles were bootlegs: My mega drive was a "Songa" and a friend of mine had a "Super Senga". The cool fact of this consoles was that they had switches to select the region, so with games like contra or rage 3, we discovered that putting them in japanese mode the games became quite easier.
Yeah im originally from South Africa and a lot of the games i bought were bootlegs as well , i did have a real Mega Drive but all the bootlegs were region free so i could play the japanese , US and Euro releases
@@BastichB64K The downside of having only bootlegs was that we never got the RPGs. I would have loved to play beyond oasis and shining force back then.
😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 we need you to do videos on the new genesis releases that came out and is coming out in the 2000’s . I always dreamed of an alternate universe where sega pondered on the future and not just beating the immediate competition & they designed the genesis to take them from 1990-1999 My tweaks would have. Been 1.up the specs for proper color and sound & performance. 10 mhz cpu clock 96 kbt ram 32 kbt sound ram-10 channels 12-bit color palette-128 on screen Tweak the controller 1.two shoulder buttons ( y+z) 2.x button above b button 3.start button closer to the center 4.handles longer rounded Under That would allow no need for a sega cd or 32x. . Release the svp chip cart in a sonic and knuckles lock on. Cart For $49.99 Release games for $39.99 *virtua figher *virtua cop *virtua racing *star wars arcade *doom And any 3D polygon game out in would run faster . For the sega Channel - Have all games to be released , release demo on sega Channel *Make it cheaper for subscription *can use phone line in tandem with cable tv line for increased data and speed *no games stuck on sega Chanel only time exclusive.!
Donkey Kong Country dated??!! DKC looks stunning to my eyes. Plays great too. And no, I'm not a "fanboy" of any kind unlike, uh, some 🙄. It might be an idea to leave the petty biases in the playground. Amazing effort though BTW.
Thanks for watching , its not petty biased its simply an opinion.. everyone is welcome to one , if you like DKC then fantastic . Thx again for taking the time to watch 👍
There's a french translation for surging aura, and having played it I can tell you that the game is a little bit disapointing. It tries some original ideas for the combat system but it gets repetitive and the game doesn't allow you much exploration, it's very very linear. The presentation is fantastic nonetheless, it's a gorgeous looking game with catchy music (I'm humming the battle theme right now). It's also cool that the plot is basically back to the future with medieval fantasy.
The general did not do well in Japan because of the tech was outdated even when it came out .! . They look at the color and sound capabilities and decided it was not built to be the best at visual representation of the 90’s . If the console had launched with the 6button controller And more color and sound capabilities. Sega could have thrown an extra 32kbt of ram in the system and open it up to better presentation. 32 kbt of sound ram would equal way better music and voice. And 32 kbt of ram added to the already 64 would have blew the vdp out the window. Giving more color memory to do double on screen natively. Instead of 64 they would have 128 on screen . Just a move like that alone would have helped
Its easy to say all that looking back in retrospect but unless you worked at Sega of Japan and know the real reasons for every choice its all hearsay. More power doesn't always mean more success , the Wii and Switch proved that but thanks for the input it would be cool to see a mega drive pimped out with your specs though 👍👍
@ hey look even when I owned the genesis back in 1993 a lot of games left me wanting more and realizing the genes I was in between. And throwing an extra 32kbt of ram to add to the vdp and sound would not costs so much . Remember the genesis dropped the price to a ridiculous price. If they had specs that compete they wouldn’t even have to drop the price so low. . I can remember being shocked by the voices in street fighter for genesis but then comparing it to snes. SNES was annoyingly sounding as well. Like a bathroom recording , with too much echo and sounding far. But the clarity u can’t deny. Mk2 was. A Huge turning point in the console wars. Sonic fooled us and made us think the genesis was capable of making anything that crisp . . When I played street of rage 2 I held every game to that standard after that and they wasn’t all stacking up. . Say what we want about the snes. Those colors and better quality sound was the fighting edge Nintendo banked on. If we talking about the inception that damn other system pc engine had better sound n colors than the genesis n it went on to die
@@48hourrecordsteam45your comment is definitely ignorant, you forget that that when the Mega Drive came out in Japan, FM synthesis was more common but yeah Sega’s choices were to keep costs down and the Mega Drive is capable of some great sound in the right hands, sure the SNES was more advanced in graphics and sound but it used newer technology but the Mega Drive has more great sounding games than not. Also the Mega Drive not doing well in Japan was nothing to do with its capabilities in graphics and sounds, in fact it was initially well received on release but Nintendo still had a stranglehold on the market of Japan and the lack of RPGs was a contributing factor so next time do your research before commenting.
@@Adamtendo_player_1 sega didn’t see the pc engine could push more colors and sound And that was department to excell in this to be is the reason Japan did not latch on like they wanted. My comment is mine I don’t give a shit what I think is ignorant . Stay ur ass away
