- This is a remix of the 1966 Rolling Stones album hit with vocals removed to bring out the artistry and textures in the instruments. The stereo effect has been maintained.
The marimbas was Brian Jones's idea and arrangement. He gave life to this song and should've been given a credit. Thanks for uploading this instrumental.
For my taste it's the Brian Jones era with the rolling Stones that are my favorites...
He didn't write the song or even his part in it.
That's correct he did not write the song. The marimbas were his idea. When they were recording the song at RCA, Sunset Boulevard Studios, they couldn't get it right. Brian saw some instruments in the corner of the studio and tinkered with them. In minutes he came up with the Mirambas tune. So, the Mirambas tune was his. This has been verified by Bill Wyman and Keith Richards. Brian added colour to their music.😄
thank u brian and bill.
You need to be thanking Keith and Mick...They are the people who wrote the song.
Under my thumb
The girl who once had me down
Under my thumb
The girl who once pushed me around
It's down to me
The difference in the clothes she wears
Down to me, the change has come
She's under my thumb
And ain't it the truth babe?
Under my thumb
It's a squirmin' dog who's just had her day
Under my thumb
A girl who has just changed her ways
It's down to me
Yes it is
The way she does just what she's told down to me
The change has come
She's under my thumb
Ah, ah, say it's alright
Under my thumb
Is a Siamese cat of a girl
Under my thumb
She's the sweetest, hm, pet in the world
It's down to me
The way she talks when she's spoken to
Down to me, the change has come
She's under my thumb
Ah, take it easy babe
Yeah

I'm seeing a few of these early songs without Mick. I'm thinking these were Brian's personal collection.
There were no songs without Mick. You are wrong.
