Thanks for watching! Also, another thing I learned recently was how (and WHY) to make custom luts in DaVinci Resolve. If you don't know, be sure to watch that video next because it's a HUGE time saver: ruclips.net/video/7D0TBDTmY4E/видео.html
You know this tutorial is good and simple when you go back to this video specifically because you're also the kind to forget how to track and stick images.
Haha that's exactly why I made it. I'm sure I account for at least 5-10 of the views, relearning this over and over again. 🤣
The easiest guide! You are the man. I feel others make it waaay too complex. Thank you!
Right?! Yeah I felt that way too. I'm not a big tutorial guy yet but felt like this one needed to be made lol. Glad you found it 👊
I have come back to this so many times, thank you!
Haha thanks! Me too 😆
You could not have made it easier... Bravo! And thank you!
Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. Glad you found the video 👊
Thank you so much! I've tried for hours to make it work according to another tutorial with far more nodes and it just didn't work. Then you come along with this awesome and easy to recreate tutorial and saved the day. Thanks. :)
Oh good, I'm so glad you found the video. I know, I felt the same... I kept finding these complicated ways to make it work so even though I'm not usually one to make tutorials I thought I could make something useful! Thanks for watching 👊
I cannot tell you how easy you made this thank you so much for this i am looking forward to what else you have that is going to help me make my videos a lot better.
Oh I'm so glad you found the video 👊 I am looking forward to getting back to creating videos like this but I've just taken a detour with my life / content. I bounce around quite a bit, especially since we recently moved but I'm going to get back into the zone soon!
And look at you getting so close to monetization. Nice work!
That intro 🤣 Great video, Enjoyed watching. Thanks!
Hahaha glad you found the video! I had a lot of fun making this one. 👊
For a while now I've wondered if you were really Casey Faris and now I think my suspicions are justified. Like Casey, you've made this both fun and informative. I'm going to try this tomorrow!
Haha well thanks, I appreciate it. I will definitely be looping around to reviewing gear again but just wanted to make this while it was fresh in my mind... it's a lot of fun making tutorial videos I gotta admit.
Let me know how it goes!
Thank you so much! It took a lot of trial and error with the tracking (very shaky videos), but I finally got it thanks to your video. :)
Haha that's awesome. I'm glad to hear it! 👊 Glad you found the video :)
Thank you for this - it is a game changer! Thank you for keeping it short, to the point and easy to follow, just what I needed :)
Glad you found the video and thanks for the comment! Sorry about the delayed response. Sick kids!! 🤣
easily the best tutorial I could find. Thanks so much!
Nice! Thanks :) Glad you found the video.
Perfect! thank you for this tutorial. Exactly the help I needed. Great teaching.
Glad you found the video! And thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it 👊
Best video on the topic. Thanks for the no bs explanation and just using fusion instead of 1000 drop downs and other menus all over Resolve.
Thanks! Glad you found the video. Yeah I'm not really a tutorials guy but felt like I could add something actually helpful on the ol' RUclipss 👊
@@thesahdstudio You totally did. A lot better than most tutorial guys out there. Thanks again! I forgot how to track things since I use it so rarely and your tutorial gave me a new better method within a few minute.
BRO!!! You just came with the best video on this subject yet. Needs more views
Thanks man 👊 glad you found the video and it helped you out!

Nice and easy to follow, I was trying to get a graphic tracking my face and this is what I was looking for,
Awesome! So glad you found the video 👊 That's why I created it... Even I need to go back and watch it when I need to stick something lol.
Thanks. This helped me track the Superman logo over a Jeep passing through frame.
Haha that's fun! Nice jeep!
This helped out so much!
Awesome! Glad you found the video 👊
Awesome tips, life saver! thank you!
Glad you found the video!! Thanks for the comment 👊

My pleasure, thanks for watching 👊
Thank you! This stuff can be a pain until all pointed out like this :D
Thanks for the comment 👊 I know right? I'm not a huge tutorial-making guy but I thought something succinct might help others. I still need to go watch this video now and then lol
this saved me thank you!
Lol Amazing! Glad you found the video 👊
Nice and easy to understand tutorial, thanks man! 👌
Thanks for the comment. Really appreciate it!
At least your video isn't 15 min long....
trying to keep 'em short for my homies out there
I didnt know I needed this... but I do! Thanks
Haha thanks for watching 👊 if you create anything fun with it let us know!
What a great video. just loved it alot.. you made Davinci simple
Glad you found the video! And thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it 👊
@thesahdstudio thank you. I have a few more questions about davinci. Do you have any social media messenger to interact with?
@@ShekharMine No not really, I am pretty responsive on here though. I'll be honest with you though, I am no pro with Resolve. But hey, feel free to ask away!
So helpful! Thanks! Unfortunately it didnt work for my grainy video that didnt have enough contrast, but I will probably reference this in the future :)
lol! Yeah that sucks but it gives you something to think about when you're shooting your video right? Whether it's the colour of your clothing or in your scene. Adds a layer right?
@@thesahdstudio for sure!
Thank you that was very helpful!
Appreciate the comment! Thanks for watching 👊

You DID GOOD!!!
Thanks my man
Thank you for the video, much appreciated. I got a question, what if I want to add 2 trackers to the same scene
That is a great question! And I don't know exactly... there is probably a much easier way but you COULD just create a project with the clip you want, track one thing, export the video... then import that in to your main project then track the other. I haven't tried to use two separate trackers in the same fusion clip. That might work but might also be tough on the ol' GPU? Are you using proxies while editing?!
thx a lot man, it really helped..
Glad you found the video my man! 👊
THANK YOU! Question... if at certain point the png or jpg or text goes off position for a bit then back how do you correct a track mid stream?
Glad you enjoyed the video! Ok, I am moving and don't have my computer set up so I'll try and remember how to do it... for the frames you might have to correct things manually. Move frame by frame using the { and } keys in Fusion. You literally just go through one by one and pin it to where you want it. Otherwise I would just retrack and do it again if the track messes up.
Hopefully that helps. Sorry, I'm not a super wizard or anything with Fusion. I'm still learning with ya!
thank you so much!
Glad you found the video 👊 thanks for the comment!
Amazing! Great and easy to understand video
Glad you found the video 👊
Thanks so much!
Glad you found the video👊
Good it was helped to me Interesting tutorial. I love this...thanks
Glad you found the video. Thanks for watching!
Great video! It was really helpful and easy to follow even for someone like me who picked up DaVinci Resolve a few hours ago
I had a question left after the video, do you know a way to make the software also track the rotation of, let's say, the face?
Thanks in advance :)
Thanks! Honestly, I don't... It's been a while since I've used this feature and I'm not a real wizard with the software which is why I made that video... So I could watch it later when I needed it lol.
I hope you find what you're looking for! I'm glad to hear your team resolve 👊
this video beginning caught me :)
Thanks for this guide
Haha thanks. I was having fun with my new skill!
Great lesson , thankyou
My pleasure. Thanks for watching 👊
thank you so much for the video !!!!! I have an important question, how do I set the point of when the graphic appears on the clip , I do not want it to appear since the clip starts, I want to control the appearing and disappearing points on the clip for the graphic.
I would say the easiest way is to just split the clip where you want it to start and end, then use the advice in my video for the exact length of the clipped video part you just made. Hope that helps!
Amazing video! Thanks bro!
Thanks for watching 👊 appreciate it!
Good stuff! I have my timeline in vertical mode, but in fusion its still horizontal.. How do I change that? Also, the tracker works great, but then I attach the image and the image grows as the camera moves back.. How do I get the image to look like its part of the scene and stay where its at?? Thoughts???
Heyo! Sorry, we have been moving this past week and all of our stuff has been in storage for a couple months. I haven't had my computer setup so I am super rusty when it comes to editing in Resolve. I hope you found solutions to your problems. I will be back online in the next week or so, so if I find something out I'll let you know!
preciate the video!
Glad you found it and thanks for the comment 👊
can animation tracking on top another clip??
want it to track a loading animate to someone walking,
To be honest I'm not sure. It's been awhile since I've played with this feature. If I figure anything out I'll let you know!
Thanks for the video, it was very helpful
Glad you found it.. Thanks for watching! 👊
Absolute legend
👊🤣
Thank yoooooou for this!
Haha my pleasure! Please share any fun creations you make with us 👊🤣
I find the video helpful but I’m lost at what to two when I want to track two different points in the same media in with two separate medias or pictures. Media out only allows 1 to show up at a time.
Honestly I haven't really used this lately so am a bit rusty. I'm going to be spending more time in Resolve here soon so if I find anything out I'll let you know!
you are a savior
Glad you found the video! 👊
Great! u save my life!
So glad you found the video 👊
You are making some excellent content. Thanks
Aw, you made my day! Thanks for saying. I really appreciate it. 👊
@@thesahdstudio Worked really well! More importantly this got me into using the Fusion Page without any hesitation!
@@77dris Oh I'm so glad. To be honest I don't even know what the fusion page is entirely capable of as there's just so much else to learn with Resolve, but, baby steps right? We'll get there together!
Huge thanks!
👊 thx for watching!
Thank you
Np! Hope you found it useful! 👊
what if you wanted to track&stick an image onto a background that has a filter & color correction without the image adopting all of those same video properties? (i.e. the image keeps its original color/look)
That's a good question and I don't know the answer. It's been awhile since I've used this in my videos. I am certainly no pro when it comes to Resolve... I just wanted to make this video while it was fresh in my brain as a reminder to my future self 🤣
Found value and humor both. Subbed hahaha
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching and the support 👊
You did good!
Aw thanks man. I know this video isn't for everyone but I made this channel to create these kinds of videos for myself and to help others who are in a similar spot.
Thanks for the tutorial! Is it possible to fade in the image, kind of like fading in a text in the Edit tab?
Sorry I didn't respond, we just moved into a new space and I haven't even had my computer set up so I can't give you a good answer. I hope you found a solution!
@@thesahdstudio any answer?
@@Jakobwhitesilver heyo! Sorry, we just moved and have been homeless for the last few months! I've had so much to do around our new house I just haven't had time to work in resolve let alone working on my channel. But I'm doing all of this so that I can work full time on my channels in the near future! Lots of fun things coming up. But sorry I don't have the answer for you
I love you.
Thanks heaps :D
My man! No problem. Glad you found the video 👊

Fun and easy right? I was glad to learn how to animate hair on my head! haha

Aw thanks man 👊 I really appreciate the support!
thankyou so much sir
Glad you found the video buddy 👊
so helpfull, thank you so much, 😉
So glad you found the video! 👊
are you able to put an outline in the edges of the text? is there an option to do that?
Hrm I'm not sure my friend. Unfortunately it's been awhile since I played around in there so it's not fresh in my brain and I can't help :(
thank you so much ! question , how does it add only the figure in the pic u downloaded without manually tracing it ? do u download a specific version of the stickers or does it know how to do that automatically when the background is black ?
thanks in advance !
You need to use a .png of the item you want with no background. You can't use a .jpeg for example because then it will have a white background. So I remove any background of the image I want then save it in a .png so when I add it into Resolve, it looks like a floating item upon my background. Hope that helps?
Yes thank u so much
Thanks!
Thanks for watching👊hope it helped! Do share if you use it for anything interesting lol
Does anypne know how to get does images without background? Searching for this for a while
You can search for .png images on Google images or you can use AI programs to remove backgrounds for you if you don't know how to do it yourself. There are some free ones out there I htink.
but how do you make the background be in the background and not on top
Hmm, it's been awhile since I've played around with this feature so I can't quite remember. If I play around with it and figure it out I'll let you know!
Cant see a mov or mp4 when i drag it in after tracking, wont show anything so frustrating.
Hmmm. I'm just out of town away from the computer but when I get back if I figure it out I'll let you know. Or if you figure it out beforehand maybe update us if it required any special settings or anything.
thank youuuuuuuuu!
Glad you found the video 👊
Thankyou.!

Haha thanks! Share anything fun with us that you do!

Lovely video as usual. I know it from quite a time but enjoyed the video nonetheless.😜
lol thanks man! It's a lot of fun playing around and making goofy effects. I haven't had a lot of time to get to know the software... and now that I got a juicy new computer it can actually handle playing around with the effects!
subbed .. i forgot how to do it and couldn't find a good video on this ... thanks for the laughs too.
Haha rad! Glad you found the video and thanks for the support! I'll make some new fun Resolve tutorials soon.
hello! great tutorial, got a question tho, how can i make it auto-resize? (the image)
Thanks! To be honest it's been awhile since I made this video and it's not fresh in my brain so I can't answer your question. But I'm going to get back into it shortly here so if I figure it out I will let you know!
Can you also be a little more specific about exactly what you are trying to do?
Mostly like just the image follows head's rotation, scales based on heads size, just like more accurate, it just moves with the image, i want it to rotate with it and change sizes@@thesahdstudio
plus, here's a clip of how i want it to look, if it's possible ruclips.net/user/clipUgkxcPjCSrfGgudbv4wGyeP3CQW1E4yR-sJM?si=pR7f23smYNNeXcVu@@thesahdstudio
How can I track multiple points at once and attach different images to each?
It's a good question and honestly it's been quite a while since I made this video it's not fresh in my mind. If I get a chance to play around with it soon and figure it out I'll let you know!
bruv deserve more subs
appreciate the support mang 👊
Thank you for your tutorial *but*
I have searched on RUclips:
TRACK PAINT STROKE TO MOVING OBJECT IN DAVINCI RESOLVE (using several different search terms)
for weeks now but it seems as though none of you will go there. This encompasses the basic video edit needs of *smudge, clone & paint* on a moving object in an existing clip. This is why we spend money for a high-end video editor. Someone needs to step up to the plate. This is basic stuff no one on here seems to be willing to address. Thanks again for your expertise!
The thing is, I am not a tutorial maker usually... I only like to share things that I wanted to learn for myself to tell the story. I haven't personally felt the need to learn more on what you were talking about.
PERHAPS you should be the person to learn it then share what you learn in a tutorial video yourself!
@@thesahdstudio Thanks again for your tutorial and perhaps you are right. I should learn it and then share what I learn! Happy Holidays!
@kim_the_harp yes! Love to hear that... Awesome!! Happy holidays to you as well!
How can I apply this track to an image on its own layer?
Honestly it's been awhile since I've played around with this so I don't have an answer for you as I'm not sure. I'm going to be really getting into Resolve again soon so if I find out I'll let you know!
I can see the tracker and the image only when i'm in effect editor
Unfortunately since this video I haven't used this feature very much so it's not fresh in my brain. Sorry to hear the video wasn't able to help out.
and how can I color grade just the object I added in Fusion? using Color Corrector, it is affecting the whole clip and not only the object
That's a good question, and in my totally amateur opinion I would probably recommend editing the image on it's own outside of Resolve then bringing it in. Could that work for you? It seems easier to just edit it in Photoshop then import it.
If that doesn't work, what exactly are you trying to do? I love brainstorming so please share.
@@thesahdstudio I masked my object and then graded it separately :)
Is there any trick for when my footage does not have a transparent background? I can’t seem to connect with a merge node
Heyo! Honestly, we've been moving and out of our house for the last few months and my Resolve skills are super rusty at the moment. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. What are you trying to do though, can you be more specific? You have an object you want to track to something in your footage or is it more complicated. I couldn't quite understasnd.
@@thesahdstudio what I was trying to do was track a lens flare to the camera movement of the clip but once done I was unable to change to blend mode of that lens flare to something like color Dodge or screen.
is there away to make the image/text fade out at the end of the clip?
Hmmm it's been awhile since I've used this feature to be honest so I don't know. If I find anything out I'll let you know!
thanks :) @@thesahdstudio
Is there a way to adjust the opacity of the PNG after you put it into fusion??
Honestly I wish I had an answer for you but I haven't tinkered around in there much lately so I don't know. I'll open it up later and if I find something I'll let you know!
thanks for the response, yeah i havent been able to figure it out. ive resorted to making the opacity adjustments in photoshop, exporting the png and then going back and forth until it looks right but its not ideal at all@@thesahdstudio
@@imjackson. so give me an example of what you mean... let's say I want to put sunglasses on my face... you import the png... you want it to be more transparent so you can see the face kind of thing? You should just be able to adjust the properties of the png on the timeline no? BEFORE you tweak it in fusion and at it to the clip?
How did you make it fly away at 0:04?
So easily with key frames! I'm going to make a video on that shortly, stay tuned!!
Thank you.
Your pngs look great, but how do I do this with a video, and have the video actually playing as an overlay?
Good question. I don't know off the top of my head but I'd like to tinker with it. If I figure it out I'll let you know!
@@thesahdstudioI'm the same guy, different account... I've done it the same way but the video doesn't play but rather just shows a static image.
@@thesilverfamily It must be something easy though... a setting etc to play it. Maybe it just requires more computer horsepower? Has no one else done a vide on that?! Maybe I'll have to do it when I get some time.
@@thesahdstudio I finally got it to work, but I don't know what I did exactly. It has something to do with the in-out setting in the layered media
@@thesilverfamily 👊😆 amazing!
