Thank you for your recipients which are not only delicious but also easy to cook for a hungry family who is looking for new tastes.
Shakshuka is North African/ Middle Eastern, but hey.... I saw this dish and was like... I need to try it! If the food looks good and taste good, eat it :p
This is a Tunisian dish!! as a Tunisian I approve of this recipe! in Tunisia we can add home made red meat sausages called Mergez and we don't add cheese at the end but I think it's a nice addition!! And we also make it spicy so we add chili pepper powder and sometimes chili pepper paste called Harissa. I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw this video. It makes me happy that people are enjoying our food. Great video!
Honestly, while watching your video my heart was so calm, idk if it was because of your background music or what but it just calmed me. I like your video.
this is one of my country's signature dishes and i'm so happy you made it! though we eat like to eat it quite spicy, ur version's awesome for people who cant handle spice
Nada You must be from Tunisia. Basically we add what we call harisa, which is like a concentrated chili sauce. It's spicy as hell but it's also really delicious.
Tried this dish but I used chopped Hungarians and squid balls instead of sausages. I also added chili paste. And of course paired it with rice made my family gone wild. Thanks for this recipe!
In Russia there is a similar recipe, this dish is usually served for breakfast. Only instead of tomato sauce use fresh tomatoes. The rest of the recipe is exactly the same.
Few tips: 1. The garlic has much lower burning point compared to the onion, so you should add it only after the onion been already caramelized. 2. You can start with onion&pepper if you don't like them to be chewy. 3. The taste of the Shakshuka will be much stronger and better if you'll use fresh tomatoes (in a phase where they are soften already). 4. When the eggs is added you should close the lid to get to higher temperature. that will help you get a well cooked white while the yolk is still runny (in your video the white is still somewhat runny as well). 5. Add parsley.
this is a bit modified version of our tunisian shakshuka!! highly recommend!!! we normally make the tomato sauce and we can an some harissa for extra flavor (harissa is a pure hot pepper sauce)
