    You should make your temp transcode to cache SDD and not to the array (try to avoid make your HDD spin and read/write). Except that good video :-)

    • @AlienTech42
      @AlienTech42  10 месяцев назад +11

      I agree, but I have to plan on people not having an SSD cache drive. Hindsight I should have just commented on that...

    for those using intel IGPU that supports quicksync make sure to use the hevc_qsv (intel) encoder not the hevc_vaapi (intel/amd) one

    Does anyone else have issues with this program being very glichy? When it works for me which is rarely, its awesome. However, Im not able to get consistant results from it, not sure why. Sometimes the comskip or comcut works, most time it does not. I wish it would work, it is very intuative and easy to use!

    When it comes to the worker schedule, we have 3 options. The set worker count option that you set will only change the number of workers running. You scheduled a "pause" of the workers, which means they will pause whatever process they are running at that time. But the third option, which you did not add was to "resume" workers. This will resume any paused tasks that the workers were working on.
    If you have 1 worker configured and you schedule the worker count to 0, then when that worker completes its task, it will terminate. So you probably want to just schedule worker counts to 0 at 5pm and 1 at midnight.

      im curious too if its the same as plex. i have mine in plex set as /dev/shm. Maybe /temp on unmanic for ram transcode directory

    • @vi_EviL_iv
      @vi_EviL_iv 9 месяцев назад

      @user-ef5gr8tf8z After research, for ram transcoding, you set /tmp under transcode. Im not sure how to set up the intel quicksync. According to some videos, you can set quicksync and ram transcoding, but you have to manually set it up.

    Thank you for this vid!
    Question:
    I have the i7-1165G7 which has the Intel Iris Xe Graphics "card" as the iGPU.
    Wouldn't the Video Encoder H265/HEVC - hevc_vaapi (INTEL/AMD) be better than the CPU option then?
    The Intel Core i7-1165G7 has integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, which support hardware-accelerated video encoding and decoding via VAAPI (Video Acceleration API). This means you can leverage the GPU for faster and more efficient encoding with the hevc_vaapi option.

    • @AlienTech42
      @AlienTech42  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, I would think that the INTEL/AMD encoder would be a better option than the CPU encoder. Give it a go and let me know your results!
