You should make your temp transcode to cache SDD and not to the array (try to avoid make your HDD spin and read/write). Except that good video :-)
I agree, but I have to plan on people not having an SSD cache drive. Hindsight I should have just commented on that...
Thanks for leaving a comment so that others can see it! Pinned it.
In memory it's even more better
Thanks for the tip! Just used it.
Amazing work - very reminiscent of the old RUclips where people just gave you the information you needed instead of mugging for the camera. Thank you!
EDIT: Saved 5TB total. Unmanic is great!
Yes! Thank you! So glad you like my style.
I love how you explain things.
Thank you for letting me know. It's nice to get feed back so that I can make better content for the community. Glad you enjoyed!
Excellent video!
Thanks!
Great guide! Thank you!
You are welcome! Thanks for the comment.
for those using intel IGPU that supports quicksync make sure to use the hevc_qsv (intel) encoder not the hevc_vaapi (intel/amd) one
Love your no nonsense videos. Great stuff.
Thanks! I appreciate the feedback.
Brilliant. Needed a Tdarr replacement as it was really playing up whatever I did to try and fix it.This is working great and the plugin system is much easier to understand than the flows in Tdarr.
Awesome! Perfect timing. I am glad that I was able to help!
Thank you i really appreciate the videos . They are extremely helpful.
So glad to hear they are helping. Thanks for letting me know!
My movies after transcoding does not show up in plex. Movies are in the correct location. Any idea why?
If you has the error "Specified rc mode is deprecated." go to the config of Nvidia Plug inside unmanic, change "-rc:v vbr_hq" to "-rc:v vbr"
Does anyone else have issues with this program being very glichy? When it works for me which is rarely, its awesome. However, Im not able to get consistant results from it, not sure why. Sometimes the comskip or comcut works, most time it does not. I wish it would work, it is very intuative and easy to use!
When it comes to the worker schedule, we have 3 options. The set worker count option that you set will only change the number of workers running. You scheduled a "pause" of the workers, which means they will pause whatever process they are running at that time. But the third option, which you did not add was to "resume" workers. This will resume any paused tasks that the workers were working on.
If you have 1 worker configured and you schedule the worker count to 0, then when that worker completes its task, it will terminate. So you probably want to just schedule worker counts to 0 at 5pm and 1 at midnight.
i dont get how this workes
for me timer does not work.
when i set worker to zero and increase worker at a specific time its not increasing.
when i set worker in settings to 1 it automatically starts working
i just want it workiing from midnight to 7am
@mrnice-guy1462 did you set the timezone of the docker container?
@@joshs5909 i see the correct time when a job is starting so time is correct
Is this current with TRaSH Guides? I know I have unwanted double ups and want to run this but don't want to go back and do it agin for the TRaSH guides version (Which I love)
I saved about 120 gigs but noticed the video quality took a noticeable hit so I switched the NVENC Encoder Quality Preset in the encoder plugins setting to Slow and the quality improved plus still saved space.
Thanks for sharing that tip! I am sure it will help someone else too. 120 gigs is a decent amount!
Is there an option to transcode 480i DVDs over to 480p getting rid of the interlace effect lines or lines caused from transferring film over to video primarily in the TV type DVDs?
i would love a video on kometa
Just got my first R1 N100 NAS to start playing with it. I bought an Unraid license before their increase to start playing around with it. I will use all of your vids to guide me along this process. Thank you.
I am glad that you find them helpful, and enjoy your Unraid journey!
i installed and set this up this morning let it run when i checked what it had stripped the video out of some my tv files they are now audio only
Holy Cow! Sorry that happened to you. This is the first report of that happening. Which Unmanic Plugins do have installed?
@@AlienTech42 The same as you set up in the video as i had not got far enough to test out any of the other ones yet
What is the different between Tdarr and Unmanic
They are pretty much the same thing in the end, however Unmanic is simpler to set up and run.
Thanks for this! Finally got it working
Glad I could help!
Should do a video on how to have plex running on nvme for metadata and cache only. Also how to set up the transcode in RAM and using the GCPU.
im curious too if its the same as plex. i have mine in plex set as /dev/shm. Maybe /temp on unmanic for ram transcode directory
@user-ef5gr8tf8z After research, for ram transcoding, you set /tmp under transcode. Im not sure how to set up the intel quicksync. According to some videos, you can set quicksync and ram transcoding, but you have to manually set it up.
Is there a difference between unmanic and tdarr ?
Different programs, same basic result.
Anyone any thoughts on how this and tdarr compare if you have used both?
I have used both and found Unmanic a little easier to use., but then again the last time I used Tdarr was a couple years ago so it maybe better now.
@@AlienTech42next problem I have is to use recyclarr to sync all the trash guides which I imagine would save users a heap of setup time if you are looking for video ideas.
Thank you for this vid!
Question:
I have the i7-1165G7 which has the Intel Iris Xe Graphics "card" as the iGPU.
Wouldn't the Video Encoder H265/HEVC - hevc_vaapi (INTEL/AMD) be better than the CPU option then?
The Intel Core i7-1165G7 has integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, which support hardware-accelerated video encoding and decoding via VAAPI (Video Acceleration API). This means you can leverage the GPU for faster and more efficient encoding with the hevc_vaapi option.
Yeah, I would think that the INTEL/AMD encoder would be a better option than the CPU encoder. Give it a go and let me know your results!
@@AlienTech42 It seems to be better ;) Server is still able to function, and got 3 workers running non-stop with it. Thank you!
Great video, thank you! Following your setup @AlienTech42, I ended up reducing my media library by 810Gb 😀
Wow, that's a decent amount of space to free up! Thanks for letting me know, always love to hear how it works out.
