Master/GM player here, last time I was silver was in 2014. I'm mind blown by the first Lux. They even tried to freeze a wave. The level is so different from back then, lol
It's even more crazy considering that the distribution of ranks has changed, what used to be silver back then is now gold. The league community as a whole has really improved a lot

One tip to avoid missing CS like on the cannon at 15:27 is to left click on the enemy minion to see their exact health value on the top left of the screen, and compare it with your attack damage (shown on the green helmet icon page next to champ portrait). Ofc this isn't practical when the enemy laner is there but when alone, it helps with avoiding the misjudgements on the minion HP
Hi Coach Curtis, I hope this letter found you well. I'm very glad to see your uploaded video of coaching silver players for 2 hours, because I find this kind of content quite interesting. I hope to see more content like this from you in the future, and I will be recommending it to my friends who just started playing the game and are eager to learn. Thank you for your contributions to the world of league of legends. Weather is lousy, Yours sincerely, Lars
Just got back into league after a year off. I can’t wait to join the MLA again! I’m so glad you’re still making such high-quality educational content. Thanks, as always!
Firstly I hope all is well. 2 QUESTIONS 1.)Do you have any plans to drop any champ guides for this seasons on yt? 2.)What other champions, if any, do you think y'all will be adding to MLA approved champions?
hey man I just want to say on ur latest video ( I went through ur older videos for solo q theory and for intuition ect) that as a pokemon unite player, I legitimate found so much insane and relatively good advice that cross over to my game considering its a much more simple moba. I will recommend u to any league friend of mine because ur extremely talented in explaining ur thoughts. It's a great a gift and I truly respect players with the improvement comes in small increments. I myself avg 60%+ rank winrate and typically have 10 to 20 games a night with great sessions of high intensity and zero tilt on games I loses resulting in successful . Infact sometimes I instantly identify a crucial mistake I make and accept it and burn it into me to not make that mistake again. U are a gem and keep up the great work.
i really do wish people who are getting coached would ask more questions, for example around the 15 min mark curtis says that the lux should've q-auto then ult, even though that risks you completely missing your ult by asol flashing as soon as lux's q root wears off. about 2 minutes later the lux doesnt shove and back after the kill (which he should've) the lux goes for a favourable trade and chunks asol to 35% hp. curtis here saya "why trade here" well because youre gonna back anyways and when you come back to lane you will have a huge hp lead and either force asol to make an awkward ~300 gold back or stay and risk dying. theres plays in here that are critiqued simply because its a coaching session and if curtis is quiet for too long it feels like a waste of money/time, whereas if the coachee asks questions the coach can more easily explain concepts. food for thought.
I am 14 minutes in and I am curious Curtis - this person clearly makes narratives (or at least looks for explanations and concepts (example: sometimes my cursor, sometimes I miss cs) so far in the coaching (14:00) you did not address it/call it out, or for what it is. Now I don’t have any experience in coaching league so maybe it is just intentional or maybe you wouldn’t consider those comments narratives? I would be happy if you answered this I would say question but there is no one question here it is more of a topic I hope to see you comment :) Thanks for 2h video man! Lots of love
1:07:57 it's a bug that has to do with the buff ordering with Ekkos E. It procs on hit effects like hail of blades, sheen, rfc, previously stattik shiv etc before the actual E2 auto connects. Sometimes it randomly doesn't proc with the E2 as well leaving you with no rune. I reported it like the second hob became the best choice for ekko after electro nerfs last season, though it happened before in season 9/10 when people where going it in competetive vs azir and syndra specifically.
Im nit picking a bit ,but the silver ekko during the laning phase has multiple windows to push his advantage vs that Vladimir player, the basics of the matchup is if vlad burns w for your e and not get value out of it Ekko e cd will be up long before his w giving Ekko a winnable trade. Barring other factors that could happen in the lane, the threat of generating that cd disparity early especially when a wave is pushing in to Ekko should have made him hesitant on farming safely for a time. And again there more to any particular match up then just that but in his early game, its another thing he could look to capitalize on. Ekko E cd early is 9sec vs Vlads 28sec W cd plus his W has a health cost
At 2:00:58 what is the optimal desicion after taking into account that im vulnerable to ww .Do i freeze the cannon wave that is in my face and recall? Do i get that 4 minions and recall not pushing the next wave that is in my face? Or im ready ro face ww and i estimate the gank trying to pull out a dodge or an outplay?
Q the cannon and recall. The rest will slow push in and be waiting for you when you get back. (Annie specific, could actually even have Tibbers hold the wave and farm the for you while you back instantly. Most champs would have to walk to tower first.)
I wonder at 6:45 you explain to him to shove the lane at level 1. I wonder if this is correct? When you push at level 1 and let the minions hit his turrets, don't he get level 3 before you do as the turrets kills your minions faster than you can kill his? Maybe this is more advanced, but I think this is important to know?
@@christopheraledo5420 yes but at a certain point when you shoved so hard your minions end up at his turret and his minions are behind his turret, you can’t kill his minions fast enough unless you use spells and put yourself in danger. So if you hard shove lvl 1 you will hit 2 first but he will hit 3 before you do as you can’t kill his minions under his turret while his turret kills yours. I think this is important to understand! Pushing ur wave slightly to guarantee lvl 2 is better than shoving lvl 1 imo
Who would you recommend to watch for support role? I only see “challenger coaching” for support but there’s so little educational content for supports, it’s outdated, tier lists are for below emerald, and there are very few high Elo support mains in general. Most general education also sort of ignores support as well. I’ve been hardstuck Diamond for so long but am trying to improve.
Hey Coach, I'm a proud gold/silver jungler, moving up and down these two levels. And although I'm having fun, there's something not right regarding the matchmaking system, and I have not seen you address this in your videos. I am running a excel sheet where I record when there is a clear skill gap between teams, and I've been getting around 60-70% of games where all 3 lanes get absolutely destroyed, even if I feed them kills and secure all objectives for them, we end up losing because of the sheer superiority of the enemy team as a whole. Again, I'm not complaining, I enjoy the challenge and I am making the skill gap assessments carefully, it really seems like the system sometimes throws some players to the wolves.
The system ranks you based on your skill level not games won/lost. It matches you in favorable games if it recognizes you have the skill to move up. Also they will intentionally make your journey to your real rank a long and tough one intentionally to keep you playing longer. The more you play the more likely you are to spend $. It’s a business at the end of the day. Just keep progressing and focus on improving your champion mastery and micro/macro play, APM, etc and the system will allow you to rank up.
Gonna be honest....posting coaching sessions on YT seems to work as good advertisement for everyone else in the space. Kind of surprised you haven't done this up until now. I guess it's a lot of work to edit them down so you don't give everything away for free though. If the Lux from G1 sees this: Using your wards might help you mentally to position more aggressively. on the first review the second E, it wasn't alright in my opinion, the thing that happens a lot to ppl like us (gold for me) , is a mix of bad timing, bad aiming, bad spacing and bad movement prediction, all at the same time which makes us miss skill shots. i noticed this while watching him, 1. he aims the skillshot, first the cursor glances over asol but passes through, and the skillshot is launched to the side not on the character, and also, the skillshot is done too quickly (cursor goes to Asol then back to narnia in an instant) instead of trying to follow the Asol (bad aim). 2. *when* he aims he's way back, so his character inputs the skillshot, he has to walk to the place where he can actually throw the ability, bad spacing. 3. and by *that TIME* aurelion sol has already moved from the position he was before, when the skillshot was aimed.
