1. Awareness of team location (especially jungler) 2. Awareness of the next neutral objective 3. Lane assigments 4. Don't compensate for your teammates' bad plays 5. Trade objectives if you can't win the team fight
Love it! Hoped for a Video like this for years! I climbed by improving my side laning recently, but many concepts where still missing to understand why some plays felt good and others dont. This Video provided the needed reference points, ty!
If it's one thing I've taken away from recent league content, it's that fat tier 2 side lane turret. Just watching the second example when Curtis pops a +900 to his bank account gave me dopamine just from a spectator standpoint. I've actually shifted hardcore into viewing that as one of if not the most important mid game objective to get. Now I know that I also currently might overemphasize splitting and losing games where I should also have grouped, but I've also won games where I've gotten blasted in lane, just making it to the point where I can pick up 1 or two tier 2's on the side and suddenly I can outpush, threaten inhib or group for a flank. This is currently happening on my alt in silver elo, playing mid and top and just experimenting different champs and all, but this I feel like will be a very powerful mindset moving on. (Also watching Caps being a little rat in sidelane with Corki, and watching Chovy get like 10+ cspm on Akali in high elo just wanted me to get in on the fun and learn how to sidelane). Love this video and the one on mages before, really considering joining one of your WTL programs in the future, when I have my role and champ pool sort of figured out. (at least 1 main champ in a clear main role, contemplating between JG (my old main), Mid (my second most played) and top (I just recently fell in love with Fiora after getting into the split push rabbit hole lol)
Could you make a video about how to play against this kind of play style and split pushers in general? I'm around gold/plat and I occasionally run into situations where I either don't beat anyone in a side lane or they have a dedicated split pushers that forces me to be the one to catch a wave or lose a tower for anything we do. I realize it may sometimes just be a game where the review ended earlier, and we're just hoping for a baron/elder coin flip, but I want to at least know what mistakes to look for if I'm Malzahar vs Sion or something and slowly losing towers. That might not be the best matchup example, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at.
Just came from watching your old ekko guide from s11 that largely focuses around the big protobelt spike. I noticed you are opting for the HoB lich/nash build in this video. How has his identity changed since your last guide?
Can Naafiri side lane as well as you are doing on ekko? It doesn’t feel like she does as much damage to tower as what I see you are dealing with lich bane
She doesn’t do much to towers but she can rotate better than ekko and if your ahead you could also all in and pick off people in the side better jus pros n cons to every champ
Great video, I just started playing ekko! Just curious, what's the thought process on going zhonyas third over deathcap? Is it because you're so far ahead you felt you didn't need the damage from deathcap to one shot?
never ever build anything other than deathcap third on any mage/ap assassin if you want to do damage. if you build anything other than lich bane nashor’s tooth deathcap on ekko every game, you’re trolling and i’m not kidding. if you buy protobelt you will do no damage. if you buy zhonya’s you will do no damage. zhonya’s in general is just a bait item on ekko and you shouldn’t even buy it unless they’re heavy ad or they have a lot of dive/cc and you need the active. the only reason he was able to build zhonya’s here is because he had a fully stacked mejai’s to make up for the damage loss. plus zhonya’s if often useful for keeping your mejai’s stacks. also, this was a decent game for him to build zhonya’s since they have so much hard cc, but banshee’s veil might still be better because they’re full ap outside of wukong.
But you don't really oneshot with EQ AA until you get rabadons third, it's really bad. Also Rabadons is really good for R heal and W shield on Ekko because of the ap scalings
Riven main here, in toplane: How well does the stuff in this video apply to Riven? (For reference, she's a skirmisher, which is kinda like a hybrid between an assassin and a fighter/bruiser)
it's like Christmas came early

thank you for your work
amazing guide tysm
Insane video
Coach, how come before you said "In your experience, split pushing never works" and "just be there in every important fight"
Could you make a video about how to play against this kind of play style and split pushers in general? Would the midgame be the same if you carried ignite
The red checkmarks in the thumbnail are confusing, they should be green checkmarks or red Xes
Most of the time i feel that my team is totaly anti macro, they deny my side lanes possiblitys, they dont sync, etc. Do you think that is possible?
Can Naafiri side lane as well as you are doing on ekko? It doesn’t feel like she does as much damage to tower as what I see you are dealing with lich bane
Thats what I asked my self as well

Drink everytime he says sidelane.

I don’t play Riven but I feel like it would be pretty applicable. Riven flanks go crazy on the back line as well.
Timestamps pls
Does this apply to yone?
Edit:He just said yes in the video.
Too bad Qyiana is doomed right now 😢
assassins in general just suck right now
step 1 wait for them to be playable in meta
first comment :)
AD Mid assassins suck
