Love the office buildings in the harbor, maybe make a little cluster of office buildings that are the headquarters for the industry buildings around the area? Canary Wharf in London would be a good reference for it!
Low income housing is kinda poorly balanced in the current patch, in my experience the negative happiness modifier from "small homes" totally cancels out the low cost, cims would rather be homeless, so all the buildings end up abandoned
I could for hours watching you play this game man! The more videos so chill to watch would love a couple episodes a week my favourite series on RUclips right now !
Hey Keralis, just wanted to say this is the first time I have ever commented on RUclips before, but I have to say this series is incredible . The whole style you have is perfect, your voice is so relaxing it gives me a nice hour to just sit back and enjoy. Never stop what you do 😄 Ps your city is AWESOME!!
This is currently my favorite series on RUclips. I definitely like having episodes more often which are more chill (vs more polished projects less often). Having the series be a little slow is exactly what I love about it!
Idea for the quarries is to terraform them a lot so it looks like piles of stone and dug out places. To make them more interesting I love this series and the harbour area is gorgeous
Keralis, imma be honest. I dont mind that your schedule isnt always consistent, especially when you and your family gets sick. Life happens! Im just happy to get to see your videos when youre able to upload. Fantastic video as always ❤ stay safe
To fix the land on those resource buildings, level the terrain at the building level a little wider than the building and then go back and smooth it afterwards. It'll still be a hill but you'll at least be able to get it smoother, just call them humps for the humpy people ;P
We love you keralis! Been listening to you play for years. Doesn’t matter what game, doesn’t even matter what your saying, it’s always entertaining. Your voice is so comforting!
30:18 Yes, we do have trams in the US, but they're kinda rare. I've seen them mostly in historic towns and city districts. Living in North Carolina, the only city I can think of off the top of my head where I've seen tram tracks is Charleston, SC. The tram there is mostly used to tour the historic part of the city and the route is pretty short. In airports, we mostly use subways or skytrains since there are barely any roads running within the airport.
Just an observation, trams typically dont go around roundabouts like cars they usually have the track cut right through the middle from one side to the other, this is to minimize the space they take up on the roundabout and because the curves are too sharp when leaving or entering the roundabout. So maybe consider running a dedicated tram track through the roundabout at the industrial zone.
Loved the video Keralis!! To answer your question about the US having trams, it is a yes we do have trams in some big airports but also in cities along roads like CS1 and CS2. And also I wanted to tell you that the traffic at the industry roundabout that is coming off the highway, they have to merge in the roundabout in a weird way because the off ramp is only 1 lane. And the road that connects to the off ramp right before the roundabout they each only have a dedicated turn lane onto the round about and most vehicles coming off the highway don't want to turn right on the avenue. So making the off ramp 2 lanes might help that congestion.
When you said “where would we even put the international airport” I also immediately said jokingly “on top of a mountain maybe”😂 It would be pretty cool though. Especially seeing the planes land and take off from such an altitude, but also the transportation network you’d create.
chill episodes are my favourite!! there's so much stuff to unlock in this game and i feel that big episodes kind of rush through the progress and i love to see how things work in detail!
For the Homeless people in Parks. You need to build low rent housing/ apartments for them, they can't afford rent in single homes and row housing that's why they become homeless. Please get well soon, take some rest if you need to, we shall always be here
I really like that you are doing your testing on camera, its nice to see the thought process behind things. And also just what the game actually can and cannot do
Have followed you since the old minecraft videos where you had yo be quiet because you had to film at night. Syill remember the day you announced doing youtube full-time and I loved it! Also remember the days of World pf Keralis server! Haven't watched a lot your vidoes lately but absolutely love the new Cities Skyline videoes! Brings back so many memories! Also remember you made ETS videoes before it even was on steam! Love your enthusiasm and I'm loving to see you still grow!
Breaking up big projects into parts and seeing progress throughout episodes would feel great I think. I love this style of episode with few cuts, especially if it means you spend less time off camera and we get more episodes!
lol the little pog face when the water bubbles popped up was hilarious. Love the slow play and the city looks awesome :) The mod for the tress is perfect for you! ALL the pretty trees lol
Keralis, I really like the way you're currently doing episodes. Projects like trams, cargo depot, and dam are all Big Progress but you do them so Chill. Keeping it to 1 major development/change per episode is just so much fun.
I love this episode - I live in Melbourne which has the biggest tram network in the world and I always build my cities with tram routes everywhere, I love them both in the game and in real life. They will take care of a lot of traffic when you couple them with a subway system
The traffic at 33:11 is caused by the vehicles coming from "Cozy Street". They want to get onto "Hamilton Highway", but their quickest option is to do the u-turn. The only solutions will be to remove the highway entrance from Oak Highway and force everyone around, or add a new entrance from Cozy Street. Love your harbour by the way. Great work.
Hey Keralis, I really like your harbor and this series. One tip for your roads, when ever you want to upgrade them, you can select the beginning and the end and it is selected in its entirety to upgrade, you no longer need to select tile by tile
Still technically in America lol. Here in Toronto, Canada - We have a fully functioning tram system that runs city wide! We call them 'Streetcars' here.
City-wide is a stretch. Etobicoke, Scarborough, and North York all exist. The tram network is definitely a game-changer through downtown, though (and would be even more so if the King Street transit priority route were properly observed/enforced)
@@gruesomebrat3 Oh for sure! If we're talking about the GTA then yeah, we definitely need some improvements on transit. But thanks for correcting me, its mostly the downtown area up to St Claire that have trams.
I read the title in Swedish first and thought? "well, aren't all your videos somewhat trams" 😉 Love your videos, im at sea and can't play very often and watching your videos keeps the abstinence somewhat at bay. Watched some Tropico and Anno while waiting for the next CS2-episode. Hope you keep it going til Manor Lords come out, would love to watch you play that.
Hey Keralis! For the industry oil buildings having weird terrain you can raise the terrain under them gently and then go in to smooth it out, it takes some time to make it look pretty but it's better then the steep cliffs
Hi Keralis! Love this series. Been binging the old one and it is so fun watching you play this game. I wondered if you have every tried building in a hexagon grid? I saw video from City Beautiful about it, and it looked interesting to try.
It’s unfortunate that the elevated subway stations aren’t elevated. You could’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from New York City, in particular the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens.
More episodes with Keralis, please. I love your videos, I've been watching you since CS 1 and I do remember you playing with trams in the snowfall DLC ❤❤
The USA used to have trams everywhere! Nearly every major town and city had them until car companies bought out the streets and sold them. In recent years, though, cities have been adding them back into the streets and with positive reception. Kansas City's tram, for instance, built their line with money to spare and surpassed their ridership predictions by a large margin!
20:43 sadly no, even though they added the elevated and above ground metro tracks in by default now they somehow had the same oversight of CS1 by not having an elevated station by default.
You should have made it so tram tracks go straight through the middle of the roundabout instead of having to go along with the vehicles imo. I think you should be able to place them separately without road itself tho idk.
Possible do you not known it better but I should you inform that trams use small neighbor streets side-by-side of main streets or extra tracks side-by-side of main streets. Some travel inside small cities mostly only on pedestrian roads too. They disturbing normal traffic how is mostly not local at your streets so your trams are ineffective public person transport at the industry place. It sounds crazy but here do you can make them around the place (same the highway) or new rails middle trough your industry district and to your sea port. The bus routes should follow the streets at side of the tram and let your people transfer to railway stations or tram stops every 5 till 10 stops. Of course a tram line can have many short stops after they drive fast (mostly till 60 km/h) and have extra platform space in opposite to bus (mostly max. 40 till 5 km/h depends traffic flow) with small platforms mostly.
Oh my, that is one gorgeous looking harbour. I love my city-builders, but I suck at layouts so my cities always looks like crap. This however, very cool and very inspirational also.
Hope you recover well from Covid. City is coming along great! Keep it up! Wish I could lay out my city like yours, feel most of the time my city looks like hot garbage at best.
Keralis as your City Expandes, you need to expand Police, Fire & EMS Services, among Road & Maintence..the Bigger the City the More Service you need, think about like New York City or Chicago how much of these Service they have or might have, you asswell need to keep them up to pair with your Growing City. xD Why those traffic was cutting the road? The homeless situation in CS2 is subject to much complaint on the forums. It happens when someone looses their job, or is unable to afford suitable housing (or to leave the town). Suggestions I have seen are creating a low rent housing district, and increasing the job availability. As for US tram systems... We focus more on buss and subway systems in the US, but there are a few cities with actual tram lines, most famously is the old San Fransisco cable car system (which I assume is still operational). IMO, you need more public transportation between your main city and your industrial district... subway, passenger rail, and tram... make sure your tram lines reach your industrial district passenger rail yard. I may have blinked, but I did not see the tram reach over there, and it would help connect your mass transit systems. my other suggestion, in upcoming episode, you might consider building some farm regions as your biggest shortfalls in trade by a long shot is food. your deficit of wheat was something around 400tons if I saw correctly maybe a few roads to the unused border lands and zone the areas agriculture, then rezone it to other purposes as you need to grow (mush like real life where you find farm lands outside of towns and as the towns grow the farmland becomes residential, then commercial.)

Although post industrial land I was getting that vibe that and Salford queys
i think to stop the tents in the parks you might need to add some low income housing, love the slow pace of you episodes and your derpiness
Low income housing is kinda poorly balanced in the current patch, in my experience
the negative happiness modifier from "small homes" totally cancels out the low cost, cims would rather be homeless, so all the buildings end up abandoned
increasing the parks budget and using the park maintenance building could help too
Hi Keralis! If you want to run a tram line through a roundabout you can pick a tram track across it instead of putting it on the round around it
Facts
yeah you're right it can go right through the middle that's what you'd see irl as well with this type of situation
Take your time and rest
