Gideon the Ninth and Foundryside are my two favorite sci-fantasy books. Gideon the Ninth is a sci-fi with fantasy magic, whereas Foundryside is a fantasy with sci-fi esque magic. I love both series so much.
I love that you made this, I always think sci-fantasy would be perfect for me but don’t know where to begin. Now I have a whole list that sound great!
Sci-Fantasy IS so hard to find so THANK YOU for these recs!!! ❤️
Most of these were already on my list but I added one. 😉
🧪🧬🔬
I've had The Ninth Rain on my TBR for years, I should really give it a try. I ordered the special editions of The Book that wouldn't burn and The Book that Broke the World from the Locked Library and I can't wait to get them. I still need to get a copy of The Will of the Many.
Oooh I love me some good genreblenders, thanks for the recs!! I personally also really love Renia by Karl Forshaw, Mushroom Blues by Adrian M. Gibson, The Fall Is All There Is by CM Caplan, Gideon the Ninth and The Surviving Sky by Kritika H. Rao 🤩
It’s such a popular series, so I’m sure you’ve heard of it but just in case you haven’t check out The Sun Eater series
I agree sun eater is great
I haven't read it yet, but I am very intrigued
Here are some sci-fantasy books you should read: Dune by Frank Herbert, the dark tower series by Stephen king, red rising by Pierce brown, and the chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny. I hope you like them! 🧪🥼
reading Book that Wouldn't Burn, it's pretty wild and very interesting... the beginning is a little basic but it kicks in after a few pages
Enjoy
I really need to read The Ninth Rain! Every time I hear about it it sounds so good!!
I think the popular answer for science fantasy at the moment is the Sun Eater series. I'm rereading book 1 at the moment.
A very classical sci fantasy would be The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe. It's not the most approachable read, but very rewarding.
I'm in the second book of Matthew Wards trilogy and I think you're refering to the kraikons, who seem to be these mech like automatons. And I agree, it's definitely a steampunk element, which would make it a science fantasy
And after seeing your video I'm now super intrigued by Django Wexler's series, although I think I'm going to finish his flintlock series first. I've read the first two books and it's so excellent that I have high hopes for anything by Django Wexler.
I also need to read way more Rob J Hayes. I've read two of his Mortal Technique books and bought his entire backlog afterwards.
Thank you for another awesome video and your constant paasion for reading. Your videos always make so giddy with excitement to go back to my current reads and to add tons of new books :)
Yes this has been popping up a lot in the comment section. I wasn't aware it was so loved
My number one sci fantasy rec is definitely Sun Eater by Christopher Ruocchio. Book 1 is Empire of Silence. Really blends the two genres and it's just chef's kiss
Founders Trilogy to me is very Scifi and Fantasy. Best novellla for scifantasy I read last year was Elder Race, loved that book sooo much!!
I’ve read all but combat codes!
All solid recs. Still need to finish the Ashes in the Sun series.
Read almost all of these and loved them all - clearly I need to give Matthew Ward a try!
Thanks for the recs! Added to list 🥳🧪🔬
I actually owned more of these than I thought! Cant wait to get to all of these!
Put quite a few of these on my list. Thanks!
Just finished Combat Codes…loved this book. Waiting for book two to get to me. I think fans of UFC would enjoy this.
The Surviving Sky by Kritika H. Rao was a fun read!
I'll have to check it out
I really need to get to the Ninth Rain!
I know I’m in the minority here, but I also really enjoyed the Fall is All There is which would fall under this category too.

Yes thank you for including Book of Ice!
Haha naturally an author with the last name Darwin has to have at least some science in their book 😂
My favorite sci/fantasy is Gideon the Ninth.
I have not read this one yet
What about 'His Dark Materials' by Philips Pullman ?
I haven't read it but it prob fits
It would be easier to say all of Mark Lawrence is sci-fantasy. At least, to some degree.
Had to leave the robot 🤖😂

Ashes Of The sun and the will of the many are ones I want to read so bad, but im holding myself back from buying them until I read other fantasy books I have on my shelves and it hurts 😂
🧪🔬🧬
the reading from your shelves but wanting to read other books is so real
🥼🥼 think that works lol.. a lot of these I didn't know had science elements which is intriguing ...
It's so hard to know what is sci fantasy
@CoverswithCassidy I now need to look in to this sub genre more because I feel like there could be so many more that we just don't know about.. I'm Intrigued
