I agree 100%! Gale Garnett is a great looking lady who could sing! Her deep husky voice was rare for female singers in the 60's! There will never be another female singer with a voice like Gale Garnett or Karen Carpenter, one in a million!
NOTE: Ms. Garnett - though beautiful - is very real, with a real body and a real face; she works the camera with untutored, organic sense (i.e.: flash a smile to camera 2)...and then her vocal talent takes it from there. It's hard to a recall a time when they wanted you for your voice and that was all, and if you didn't have the voice you weren't gonna make it. All of these reality shows ('Idol', 'The Voice' et al.) are an attempt to recapture that, but they fail because they demand technique over artistry - Garnett just sings, unaffected, unembellished - and that's the artistry.)
Great to reflect back to the 60's. Always loved We'll Sing in the Sunshine, and recently became more intrigued. How did Gale Garnett handle relationships later in life? She wrote this song in her early 20's during a cultural shift, which may have influenced her early perception of relationships. Did she get married and have a family??
wow! One of the many terrific songs by Gale that somehow never made it to be big hits. There's so few videos circulating of her performing, this is a real rare treat! Thanks so much !!
I heartily concur ! It's a shame she never had another song that hit it as big as "We'll Sing in the Sunshine". She had the looks & talent to be one of the biggest recording stars ever !
I listened to her sing "we'll sing in the sunshine" LOTS of times at the RCA TV manufacturing plant over the plant intercom on South Rogers Street, Bloomington IN. in 1964. They played it several times over and over. I believe RCA may have had a hand in some of her recordings.
I had the biggest crush on her back then ,its a pity I was only 6 years old .I remember kicking up a real Tantrum so that my mom would buy me her record lol Ps I've still got the hots for her
Interestingly, Gale Garnett facially looked like a combination of Alexandra Moltke (Victoria Winters on "Dark Shadows") and Gilda Radner ( "Saturday Night Live")!
before my time but not beyond my ability to understand that she is unique and real. i think they didn't use her talents to her full potential, like how they wasted Helen Shapiro and Ethel Ennis.
must have been a management issue like Bobbie Gentry...Gale sure has no lack of charm and voice skills...I sure could have listened to more of her.Oh well.
Everything about Gale is beautiful
I heartily concur !!
She had a compelling and husky voice that was unique for a female singer. Plus a sexy and straightforward delivery . Admirable.
One thing I find sexy is a deep voice in a woman like her or like katherine turner

I could not agree more !
She has a unique sound, and it’s hard to replicate it.
I have a notion to second that emotion ! No one else sounded like her. What a unique talent....and what a lovely lady ! Hubba hubba !
Beautiful woman, amazing voice 😍
I like her voice, she gets your attention! Beautiful
I love her facial expressions!

Know who else did that? Tina Turner.

She was so underrated.
I just always loved her beautiful smile.
Me too !
A great performer and singer.
Yes indeed !!
Amazing voice
You speak the truth, Kemo Sabe !
It’s really too bad there aren’t many (if any!) singers performing TODAY who possess the high level of talent that Gale Garnett had back in 1966…
she wrote the songs too !
There is, check out Weyes Blood
It was her voice who did the female singing in the classic holiday movie MAD NONSTER PARTY
SUPER CUTE!
Great tuneeeeeeee
I'd sure be sad if she left me. ❤

ONE HECK OF A FEMALE! I could put up with her for a whole year, maybe two.
@ mortimor zitch. "A whole year, maybe two"? You mean that's all? Not for many, many years????
@@michaelbarlow6610 not til death do ye die?
Would you sing in the sunshine?
Her daddy might not approve.

Teddy boy music.
Born in NEW ZEALAND.
FRANCESCA !
kind of a female Gene Pitney..lots of colors to her voice.
I thought Christina Aguilera was the first to make man sounds...
Love the song and her voice but the performance seemed a little awkward
True, and that dress is a horror. But it's still an enjoyable experience.

Another poor song choice! She should of retired and sang in the sunshine!
Robert Louria And she should’ve laughed everyday, then sang in the sunshine some more, then be on her way.
