The city era may have the best commercials, but the Powerhouse Era has the best lineups! East meets West, Past meets modern, Iconic meets esoteric. Cartoon Network '98-'04= Beast Mode.
The main cartoon shows from Powerhouse Era during the years of 1998-2004: 1996-Dexters Labratory 1997-Johnny Bravo, Cow And Chicken, I Am Weasel 1998-Powerpuff Girls 1999-Ed Edd N Eddy, Mike, Lu, Og, Courage The Cowardly Dog 2001-Grims Adventure Of Billy and Mandy, Samurai Jack 2002-Codename Kids Next Door 2003-Teen Titans
No matter what people try to say to the guys in charge of Cartoon Network they refused to learn from the success of their past and mix old and new shows on the main channel and with CN Studios gone for good I think this proves that to them the past is worthless. I am just glad we have people like Cartoonguy to help us remember the days when Cartoon Network was a real channel.
As much as I’m fond of the CN City era, I wish the Powerhouse era lasted a little bit longer, up to around 2005. That’s the era that will always be Cartoon Network to me. If it were me, CN’s new era would be a combination of the Powerhouse and City eras with a little bit of the Checkerboard era mixed in.
That would actually be a great idea. To me, both eras had their charm, although I spent much longer with City than Powerhouse, so I remember it clearer. I'd say that the strong point of the Powerhouse was it's creative use of 2-D graphics and animation related to the shows, while strength of the City era was it's interactions, interconnectedness of the shows, and worldbuilding. And both theme songs are iconic. If they could combine all these traits together (including the promotional bumpers of the Powerhouse era) we could have a truly amazing era.
The stay longers was Cartoon Cartoons and Brak against Classic Hanna Barbera characters. Wonder Woman counts because she was on Superfriends. I don't recall any other Wonder Woman shows on Cartoon Network
The City Era is probably my favorite era of the network but the Powerhouse Era is the best era of the network in terms of the quality of shows they had
18:00 when Miguzi replaced Toonami and single-handedly hands down the most depressing and demoralizing day of my childhood hands down. I remember staring into the abyss trying to understanding wtf was cartoon network thinking 😢😢😢.

I'm curious to know if you have any recollection of Cartoon Network airing a show called Taz-Mania? I know it was originally produced for Fox Kids, since it came out years before Kids WB happened. In fact, it came to Cartoon Network just a couple days after it ended it's 5 year run (reruns included) on Fox Kids
As an animator, this brought back memories for sure! I remember staying up late summer nights enjoying the promos and bumpers from Acne Hour to Toonami block. Powerhouse era was entertaining 24/7. This was def a golden era for animation for sure. It's sad CN studios is closing it's doors. Remember the sheep in the big cafeteria promo?!
We need Season 7, 8, 9, and 10 of Amazing World of Gumball, and I also hope for a film adaptation of Gumball to be released in theaters. Not a Direct-to-TV like Regular Show and We Bare Bears. Like a film adaptation to be released in theaters like the SpongeBob movie (2004 & 2015). Madeleine McGraw or Raegan Revord as Penny, Gumball’s love interest I wish Leslie gets changed into a female flower, and be voiced by Peyton List Angourie Rice as the voice of Sarah the Ice Cream Scarlett Estevez as the voice of Carrie the Ghost 👻 Justin Long or Gaten Matarazzo as the voice of Banana Joe Abby Ryder Fortson as the voice of Tina Rex Makenzie Moss or McKenna Grace as Teri the Paper Bear 🐻 Amy Poehler as the voice of Mrs. Sullivan Gumball & Darwin’s teacher Lawrence Fishburne or Tyler Perry as the voice of Principal Brown Bill Hader as Larry Needlemeyer Violet McGraw, Vivien Lyra Blair, or Lexi Rabe as the voice of Anais Watterson, Gumball & Darwin’s little sister Keith L Williams or Jahzir Bruno as the voice of Darwin Watterson, Gumball & Anais’s adaptive fish brother Paxton Booth or Landon Gordon as the voice of Gumball Watterson Allison Jenney as Granny Jojo With Josh Gad as the voice of Richard Watterson, Gumball, Darwin, and Anais’ father and Emily Blunt as the voice of Nicole Watterson, Gumball, Darwin, and Anais’ mother, and Richard’s wife And I also wish that the live-action, animated comedy musical film adaptation gets at least 1hr 50 something minutes run-time, or maybe 2hrs. Maybe get either a PG rating or maybe PG-13 rating Based on the Tv series “The Amazing World of Gumball” created by: Ben Bocquelet I also wish that Phil Lord & Christopher Miller could direct, produce, and write for this in my opinion. Mark Mothersbaugh can compose the music score 🎼 We need some singers and band or songwriters writing lyrics like “Welcome to Elmore” since it’ll probably be a musical too. Production Company: Village Roadshow Pictures, Cartoon Network Movies, Warner Animation Group Distributed by: Warner Bros. Pictures

Taz-Mania actually has rare Powerhouse bumpers you can find here on RUclips. Taz-Mania had airings in 1999 as well.
