In my opinion, this was the most successful heist in the game.

I really love the Lenny-Bill dynamic. It’s real hostile at first until they rob a stage together. Then they’re good buddies, it’s really wholesome.
Loved the moment at the beginning of the game when they laughed at Micah together

Bill is probably the reason why Sean died. He said in this mission that he's been drinking with the Grays and cooking up something, this is before Micah's mission in Rhodes. Something might've slipped off his mouth while drunk which caused the Grays to ambush us.
Honestly the gang was the reason for his death they were sloppy and lazy and careless and dumb especially in chapter 4 Hosea was right they shouldn’t have gone to kill bronte because saint denis is a known city and it would make too much noise so they just led the pinkertons right to them (sry I went a little off course)
@@1.z7ii not the whole gang, but Dutch personally. Always hate how people justify him by saying he was just manipulated by Micah, but Dutch went insane much before chapter 6. And yeah, after all, Micah was always an asshole, while Dutch is a manipulating lying hypocrite, who always tried to portray himself like and caring person who wanted the best for the gang, while in fact all he wanted is to continue to live a life of an outlaw. The fact that in the end he abandoned two gang members who was with him the most time and who he raised like sons just makes me hate him more than hate Micah. He is the main rat in the gang, not Micah

I feel like no one else is saying it but my fucking god, how good is the performance of Arthur Morgan. Roger Clark should never have to work again. Such great writing and voice acting. He should be given every accolade and awards going. This is some game. And this mission is in the top three of the game. Had absolutely everything.
Roger Clark did a phenomenal job but I feel like Benjamin Bryon Davis also deserves some respect as his role as Dutch van der Linde was fantastic as well.

For all of the speculation about who the rat(s) was in the gang, this mission shows a perfectly plausible alternative solution--they were turned in by any of the thousands of NPCs that rode between them while they were loudly planning a robbery on the way to the bank.

Shaking camera can be annoying sometime when you're shooting them on foot without Dead Eye.
Explosives and the shootout are what make this mission fun in my opinion.

It really breaks my heart seeing Bill like this and then what became of him in the first game. He conducted an excellent heist with no awful long term results, which is more than what Dutch can say in this game, and acted like an actual leader. It’s honestly no surprise his gang in RDR1 became such a force to be reckoned with.

I think they were talking about the amount of time Karen and Bill spent scouting the best times for the bank, when there would be less law around, etc. The real life Wild Bunch ran by Butch Cassidy ran jobs like that to much success, as Bill does here. Only differences between the two are that Butch never killed a man and discouraged it, and he set up relay horses like the Pony Express to quicken his pace and outrun the law.
20:59 its crazy how much of rdr2 has bible refrences to it. this mission, sodom back to gomorrah is the name of two cities in the bible, known for their depravity. it symbolizes the actions in this mission. Arthur's gravestone has a bible verse on it. John's does too. at this timestamp the phrase "cleanliness is next to godliness" may not be directly from the bible, it is a common christian phrase. very cool, rockstar!
If you go to the theatre tent in Valentine, one of the shows is based on the story of Noah. It's refreshing to have these Biblical references from time to time you know

Could mean multiple things:
- Returning to the destruction they caused in Valentine before moving on
- Fleeing from Valentine after the robbery, back to somewhere just as sinful
- Returning to Valentine to rob the bank because Rhodes is already poor and insufficient (no bank at all)

Pity that the best part of the Bank Robbery Theme, at around 14:05, gets drowned out by gunfire. That bit also seems more suited for the looting, when you feel the time pressure and are nervous, rather than the actual fight.

Yep, like the thirteenth episode of this game.
I finished about 80% of the game. And to me, it's arguably the game's most action-packed most epic mission. And the soundtrack is great. That music that comes in the moment Karen says we have a problem is great. Woody Jackson is a genius. I think this game is more epic, more artistic and the story is deeper than the GTA series.
I just love the dead eye mechanic and it’s also hilarious. Like theres a gunfight and nobody is hitting anyone and then Arthur somehow lets off 8 shots in the course of a couple of seconds and they hit 8 different heads half a mile away
Bill really said he kept it cool in Valentine acting like he didn’t start the brawl that led to Tommy getting brain damage 😂

This was definitely the best mission in the game for me. This mission had everything, from the action, the music, and the intensity. Escaping the law was also fun to play through. Ntm the foreshadowing of future events that would happen later on in the game.
Also does anyone know the coat that Bill was wearing during this mission? Is it another variation of the leather Duster? Cause it looks badass.

After Uncharted 4 no other game was able to surprise me with graphics, maybe just Red Dead Redemption 2 and recently Horizon Forbidden West but just a little bit

The boy Arthur threatens is such a badass. He don’t give a fuck that Arthur is a murdering bastard, he tells Arthur the truth either way.
One of the best missions in the game
When I first played this mission I thought my game was bugged since that persistent bass in a single note sounded kinda off, but now rewatching it here I realize that it was meant to create tension and anticipation for the most profitable and clean heist in the game, and damn is it effective at that.
In this mission proves that Marion i mean Bill 😂 is not dumb or an idiot.
Gotta be one of the sickest heists in the game with the best payout. Just a shame their isn't a whole lot of things to spend money on.
the fact that literally the only thing that can not go to plan is the law showing up outside the bank (which can be entirely avoided) shows that bill is better at planning than dutch and hosea

*Pro-Tip:* You don't have to spare the horse, but you can tap L3 to give it a slight stamina boost.
But you need bond lvl 2, 3 or 4
The higher the level the more stamina you regen by tapping L3

This game is pretty awesome, and even after completing it 4 or 5 times, I'm still discovering nuances about the game that dynamically changes how I look at this masterpiece.

this heist felt so random and there was really no build up to it. it was just “lets go rob the bank in valentine” and it ended up being the best heist in the game lol

Mini Story, when I was riding through the towns doing this mission riding with bill and everyone something crazy happened, I had slammed directly into an npc and his friends horse causing them to shoot at us Karen bill and Lenny and me started shooting, was both hilarious and cool probably the best mission tbh
Bill complaining about how when Arthur makes a mistake no one complains but fails to remember that Arthur literally does everything, from bringing in food, money, doing heist, scouting, loan sharking, practically every upgrades in camp is due to Arthur, robbing coaches, getting gang members out of trouble, robbing homesteads.
