It turns out that for a while Twitter was considering making their own version of OnlyFans. The site is already full of adult content, so they figured it could be a good way to make more money. However... they quickly realised they had much bigger issues.
If a service hid illegal adult content around a pay wall?
*Everyone looks at Patreon*
Nope I'm sat next to my christian conservative dad
Had to explain this to my conservative Christian mom the other day... 1 out of 5 stars.
He's a man. I'm sure he will be less offended on this business model.
@@movingforward3030, ofc 1 star
Jesus is missing
According to the founders Only Fans didn't set out for the adult entertainment industry
Instead the adult performer found themselves a platform that cuts out the middleman after being ripped off by the industry
Anyway with inflation and cost of living crisis I'm sure the awkward thing isn't feigning innocence listening this segment next to your mom, but actually bump into your mom's only fans account
Twitter: We're fully committed to improve our content moderation! This will be part of our core strategy for the future...
Users: Yes, finally!
Twitter: ... so we can finally monetise pornography!
Users: -_-
RIP TLDR business
I could see a model where they accepted acm by using the of model of verifying people individually and making sure that the paper work is on the individual and removing it from the rest of the site. Depends on what Elon wants to do if that goes through
@@secularhumanistforever The Elon not buying Twitter part... That aged like fine milk... But asside from that everything else is solid and reasonable
Remember when twitter killed vine then TikTok emerged
I don't see the problem - there's already anonymously published illegal content, so let illegal content creators and consumers identify themselves (with credit card details) so it's easier to capture them.
🤣🤣
This could be a strategy for twitter to continue with ACM, but they'll want to ensure they have a deal with major governments beforehand.
No that's silly, they would just be scapegoated for groups like Christian nationalists that want to get rid of sex work in general
Could you make a video on the Dutch company ASML?
Have you abandoned this channel already?
CSAM and CSE on social networks is prolific, however, if you have paywalls it actually increases your responsibility, otherwise you risk loosing payments to all of your business, as the company would find itself being cut off from the big payment networks.
Amazing content.
Really Interesting video
Would love another video how streaming services can save themselves
Well done video
Great choice of thumbnail!
Ok but i LOVEEE the editing style here UGH SLAYYYY
Tldr needs to talk about Ecosia they are a search engine that plants trees
Good video. Another well researched and well explained video. However..regarding the Nebula and curiosity stream deal, I followed the link and signed up for Curiosity stream. I can't access Nebula at all. I've sent in two service emails and had no response whatever. Please advise on how I'm supposed to access Nebula. Better still please respond to my emails
I would just love to see a source on which red team exactly this came from xD - I think the trust and safety team is what you're looking for, but your video doesn't end with sources, and your description doesn't have them, either.
Twitter is a cesspool even compared to corn sites
Great video and thank you for including a trigger warning. It's something that is very rarely done in RUclips (and other sites) content and it's appreciated. Frankly it's astounding how little warning is given to content that involves children! Love the new channel and keep it up :)
Why don’t they use some of the income generated to hire moderators. If an account has paid for adult content then it needs to have its posts monitored.
Twitter have some money left from the teach that you show.
I assume, we need new channel: TLDR Porn
I disagree with your saying you doubt the Twitter board members felt good at profiting from CSE. I would believe that they totally don't care morally at all. Their only concern - even if it involves CSE - is profit. If children are hurt but the net risk evaluation is more profit, they would gladly go ahead.
I now know why people under 50 in the UK are so messed up: the O-level was merged with CSE in schools!!
Me: sit next to mom
My mom: don't understand English
Me: stonks
Whose that guy?
Couldn't twitter just require ID verification for any users posting explicit content?
This is what I said in the comments. OnlyFans have already solved this issue. There is nothing new in this problem and how to tackle it.
Money talks bull shit walks.
This video was monetised, lol
TLDR already gave up on this channel 😢
From an anthropological point of view the situation with porn and erotic material in general is fascinating. The one thing all mankind has in common: We all like sex. And interestingly enough, it's the one thing that is constantly censored and receives less founding and coverage than any other type of content in popular media.
Our kids can't watch porn and I understand that, but they can see violence every time they watch tv or play games. We as a society think that it's better for kids to see people killing each other than people making love. And I share that sentiment, after all, I am part of this society.
Maybe there's something fucked up with all of us, or maybe I am thinking too much about this.
Probably a natural result of being a high sophistication species with an extremely long period of sexual immaturity. If exposure without sufficient physical development _and_ training in your host culture's mores weren't so permanently damaging, (as measured by pretty much any later life metric you like, e.g. mental illness, financial outlook, propensity to violence, addiction etc.) then our species could probably afford to be more relaxed.
It's probably mostly biblical roots. Despite religion not holding as huge a role as it used to, a lot of western values are rooted in the Bible.
You don't have to agree with all of society's commonly held sentiments (beliefs) to be a part of it. I don't understand why sex is more censored than murder either.
"We as a society think that it's better for kids to see people killing each other than people making love." This is a direct result of the US, with it's puritan christian heritage, and its glorification of violence, having controlled the media landscape for so long.
@@greenredblue Agree. It's hard to know though how much of that damage is related to the exposure to sexual content, or the violence or manipulation they suffer in the process.
Minors having consensual sex between them is legal in most western countries and when they grow they usually don't think of it as abuse, it doesn't have negative repercussions in their lives, or so most studies say.
I don't think the problem is sex itself. Exposure. I think the problem is abuse, manipulation, violence, adults taking advantage, etc... And maybe if we were a little more open about it, just a little bit, that may happen a little less. Or no. Maybe it would be worse. But we will never know, I think.
I always hate social media platforms being responsible for the content created by other users. Its almost like saying because I got in a car accident then the state who created those roads are also liable.
Personally I am glad that social media platforms are actively monitoring their sites as it does discourage and prevent illegal activity but if I post something illegal then only I should be punished.
This is a false metaphor, the reality is more like if you maliciously crashed your car into someone you are the one who's responsible *but* the state is responsible for ensuring that you get punished *and* if the state is negligent in enforcing this then it should be punished itself
I agree that the content creators are the ones who should be punished, but the websites do need to be forced to ensure compliance instead of being negligent. If they fail to police their own sites then they should be held accountable just as a negligent police force should
Good thumb nail
money
I mean, an OF clone would’ve siphon the population already watching “prawn” on Twitter. So…
Seems to me that Elon Musk might be able to leverage their OpenAI system to manage this issue.
Progress has been very impressive over the last couple of years.
I don't think he's still buying Twitter.
There is already software developed by Google , also used by Facebook and even onlyfans . They could use that, if they want to.
However twitter is a badly managed company, that is their problem.
Everyone wants to host content, but no one wants to moderate it. They want to do business without the cost of doing business. And I just want to pay for some goddamn porn!
Why do you want to pay for it when there's tons already out there completely for free? And I don't mean grainy low quality stuff.
I clicked because of the thumbnail. Damnit
TLDR setting up an Only Fans?
TLDR Fans when????
I guess this channel died before it even started
why make a sappareate channel if you're not gonna post at least once every 7 days ?
The world is a better place with Twitter failing to join in on the monetisation of male mental health crisis and loneliness.
How about get therapy…
and twitter should just ban porn... twitter is one of the most public social media. and things like porn/nudity should be on specific or private site, not site like twitter.
If twitter enable porn explicitly, its like they dont know their strength at
Well there is a but load of porn on twitter too ;-)

Nonsense. OnlyFans have solved similar issues, and they are nowhere near as big.
