Stjepan Cindrich no, it's not. american football is basically only played competitively in america. rugby is played throughout Europe, the southern hemisphere and asia
I'm aware that it's popular around the world (draws audiences comparable to Am. Football.) But I really want to see it as popular as American Football here in the states.
Rugby looks like a cool sport. But what p******s me off is when u guys claim that American football players are "sissys" cuz they wear padding....hmmm well ok? I mean I'd rather wear padding then have my leg ripped off, smart ones. Plus our guys are twice the size and Why do u take pride in not wearing padding, it's like when ur riding on a motor cycle and get in a crash. Ugh, when I'm wearing a helmet, ur not. connect the dots. U gonna die.😬Sorry for the rage I like the sport and all I just hate it when people say that. Plus why are u comparing them anyway?
Its usually the other way around, Americans saying that NFL is a harder game than rugby league or rugby union. If you gonna wear pads then you shouldn't talk about how tuff you are, especially when you don't play for 80 minutes straight and take breaks between every play, have about 60 people on one team and a defensive and offensive team. Twice the size but not as fit, clearly there is no comparison.
Dai Nguyen Definitely twice the size, the defensive line are just pure fat n muscle. Wouldn't last more than 10 mins in a free flowing game with no breaks. Plus why play a full contact sport padded to the hilt, just doesn't make sense, might as well lose the pads and play touch football if you don't wanna break a nail.
Carolyn Piera clearly doesn't know any thing about either sports. What she says is stupid unless she proves me wrong by stepping on either a football or rugby field and giving either sport a try.
Carolyn, i'll put it to you like this.. People who watch Rugby Union and Rugby League (such as myself) think American Football is for "Wee Girls Blouses" because of the fact that the only protection a Rugby Player uses is maybe a bit of body foam that is 3cm thick that covers their body and shoulders and they are tackling other Players with the same force as a 40mph Car Crash. They also play for 2 x 40 Mins halfs with a 10 min half time break, and are ONLY substituted when another player is injured or they need more "Power" back in the team Now, NFL Players put in massive tackles as well, but they also have massive shoulder pads, body armor, a helmet and i think they also have knee and shin pads too. They play 4 x 15 Min Quarters and each team has three "Time Outs" per quarter and Breaks that are regulated by the TV Advertisment Companies So, that is what makes them look like "Wee Girls Blouses" in comparison Hopefully that has cleared it up :-)
I think the pads make football more dangerous. Guys do things they wouldn't do without the pads. I mean football players wouldn't. Rugby players do it every game. Rugby has some big men as well . But 2 40 min halves with a minimum of stoppages make it harder to stay fat.
Last year on my school team there was an A team and a B team, as you can guess A team is good and B team is a bunch of sissies, i was in the middle, I played half the games on B team and half on A team, it was so frustrating because I wanted to be better, I watched this video every game day of the season, once the season ended I dedicated myself to the gym, now one year later, we just had our first game, because of my efforts and time, i'm 20 pounds heavier and 2 inches taller, I'm now the starting outside centre for our team and because our frst game i made 2 HUGE hits and scored 2 tries, my very first try ever, and 2 of them onthe first game of the season. I still watch this video every game day. Hard work pays off
+thekamron1234 Totally dude, I'm doing the same thing, freshmen year I made it into varsity but I was shit compared to the others, same happened sophomore because I thought I'd get better If I just told myself to and watch a bunch of videos like this. So this year, junior year I've been training hard with weights and doing conditioning with my wrestling team. The more you train, the more you go through pain than all the other players on the field you can see the difference. I'm a loose forward but this year I wanna be the eight man
+Lincoln X hey you weren't lying new zealand has one crazy rugby community, but thanks alot, I finished the season with 11 tries in total and I can't wait for next season, I'm all about rugby now where before I was all about american football
A sport that deserves true respect. Back in high school, i used to play football and thought rugby was basically the same. Wrong. Rugby is fuckin rough. You have to have stamina, be smart about your positioning and be able to take hits. I only played one year of rugby.
+Drew Grey i played both. Football was scarier for me. I cant deal with someone going headfirst into me and the only thing i could do is put my head down too
NFL is cool as sport bt the thing is u only play 10 second than break fr 1 to 3mns to talk about what's the next move.and if u play defends u only play d.....that's what pissd me off... Not like rugby u gotta be good at both.its true that NFL players are bigger than rugby player.... BT NFL players can't run more than 5mnz non stop....that's y they're unfit....they're beef in....if they wanna play rugby need to loose weight fit to play rugby....
We stop every 10 secs because thats how the game was made. The lineman that used to play were as fit and skinny as the running backs when the game was first made. It isnt because we are to big to go for a long period of time its because its how the game is made. And if thr game kept going someone would get hurt because we hit so much harder than rugby players and are mich faster
BrownCoconuts Elly jesus christ no the fuck you wouldnt. I would give everything I own to you if you went head up with an nfl line backer. Id like to see u run through ray lewis in his prime. People used to die in american football. The president had to make a law making helmets and pads mandatory.
CptXXXEvilXXXFluff A big hit is usually defined by the force or power of the impact. Benson's big "hits" (actually tackles) wouldn't be big if he didn't have the force and power to go along with it. A lot of Rugby players tackle in the mid section of the ballcarrier. If the player had the ball at his mid section, it could create a turnover. If he held the ball up higher, then the tackle would be clean and unguarded which may make it look like it was a "big hit".
Rugby isn't easier than American Football lol. Sure, you will likely specialise in a specific position on the field, but you have to attack and defend and you don't get to stop and catch your breath every time a tackle is made. American Football is definitely athletic in a different way - it's like a 100m sprint vs. a 10km marathon.
As an American, I deeply wish rugby was broadcast in the USA. I would gladly give up soccer(yes SOCCER it's a *British* term) and football for rugby on TV. (8:07) I don't know the rules but that was fucking awesome.
Asher Jack Its action packed, highly athletic and stategic, brutal, padless, and the rules are a huge mystery to me, which I think might make it more entertaining. I never know whats going to happen next.
I luv watching these vids cuz I play rugby for under 12s and I've played a entire match without realising I broke my left hand lol it was after the adrenaline ran out after the match
why is their so much hating in the comments this is a video about rugby "for men played by men" c'mon guys if you don't like it then don't watch it, Jesus
In most cases, NFL players are bigger. But Rugby players are more athletic and agile. Going out there playing nonstop with no padding whatsoever for what is it, 80 mins? To me, you need to be a warrior to do that. I love my American football but Rugby is a very tough sport. Both sports hit hard, but you have to be out of your mind to say Rugby is a sissy sport.
Cool video, but you can see that its someone who loves the Aussies who made it... Australia is very good at making hard and dangerous hits, its just sad that they arent that great at winning games :-) Bokke FTW!!!!
Rugby is more tiring and energy consuming but american football definitely hurts more. And this is coming from a guy that has played 5 rugby seasons and only 3 american football seasons
rugby players are built for endurance Football player are strength I'm not saying one is better than the other but this is how i see it two different sports with two different set of skills.
You need just as much strength for rugby. I would say it like this: Rugby is about endurance and a good combination of skills and football is about explosiveness.
You don't need strength for football. You need stamina, speed, football iq, positioning, awareness, and be talented with your feet. Unless ur talking about Handegg
There's people saying nfl hits are harder well they hit nearly everywhere on the body, and in rugby they don't aim to hit hard they aim for legs as you can't run without them so not every tackle is a huge hit

as an ex-rugby and league player,I would say that union is the most dangerous of all three, but wouldn't say NFL are sissys, they have big hits too, used to like polomona,on defence ,he was the best in NFL,but league players are generally the smallest of the three, looking forward to superbowl 2015,world cup union 2015,and mens and womens world series sevens.its all good ,bro
We have this sport in America. It's called "Smear the Queer" and it's played on school playgrounds by children who later grow up to play a real sport called football. Play a real sport bros.
Folou and north are beasts...where's cooper...best one on one rugby freak in the game. Just look up his montages if you need proof!!!...or you've been living under a rock lol
I'm American and this is my first time actually paying attention to Rugby. You fuckin need some balls to play this lol, and this is a hell of a lot more fun to watch then the slow ass dudes in American Football. Juking appears to be much more viable in Rugby than in American Football, part of that could be because of the protection they wear. In Rugby, I can see it makes sense to juke more often since getting hit can be a little more dangerous.
As an American who is used to watching football hits, this doesn’t seem anywhere near as violent. But I will say I’m out of breath just watching these guys run so much.
Rugby is more tiring and energy consuming but american football definitely hurts more. And this is coming from a guy that has played 5 rugby seasons and only 3 american football seasons
Fucking hell i love rugby..i wanted to ask if it's a foul if you slide or trip the opponent while running nut it's obvious that it is..and is it a foul if you tackle someone who isn't having the ball ?
American football "is" A sissy game and the reason they are hit harder is because they have padding on and they wear helmets and all kinds of gear but in rugby all you wear is a mouth guard
Typical American. Rugby Union and League are two of the most popular field sports in the World. Unlike your World Series which you guys play and is only played in the Capitalist Empire!!!
also England are the 3/4th ranked team in the world and this is a compilation for players not countries you knob I lose iq every second I spend talking to you
Toby falatau definitely isn't from another hemisphere aye, you're a joke mate, he's spent almost all his life on England, went to English schools English citizen, he qualifies to play for England he can identify with England as is his choice. someone seems a little bit jealous :') too bad
Just fucking disgusting music to play in a rugby video just brings shame to this beautiful sport
kevin batting amen brother.
I'm sorry but for me Rugby is so much better than American Football...2 hours of game and 40 minutes played....so boring.
This sport needs to be as famous as American Football. This is something that I would totally get into. May watch it regardless.
this sport is actually bigger than american football
^^ not really, american football is way more popular.
Stjepan Cindrich no, it's not. american football is basically only played competitively in america. rugby is played throughout Europe, the southern hemisphere and asia
I'm aware that it's popular around the world (draws audiences comparable to Am. Football.) But I really want to see it as popular as American Football here in the states.
oh you mean in the states my bad. you should watch super rugby competition. it starts on the 13th February
This game shits all over nfl.
Much better in mute. Music fukn sucks
the title says Rugby not rugby league
who agrees they need more union
yeah buddy! you have my agreement :)
Rugby union soft, anyway did you see how many people got bumped off in this video.

Olikong McManus couldnt hack it man. I pussed out.

+Wartortle Best head-high tackles of league. That's it!
not really though is it.....
Big Hit = Technique + Bravery
Big Hit = Bravery + Extreme Collision
Doesn't matter if there was a technique involved or not.
Hollenthon2468 not true
Louuis Santos How is that not true?
Hollenthon2468 Benson Stanley, his technique is superb and he makes huge hits.
CptXXXEvilXXXFluff A big hit is usually defined by the force or power of the impact. Benson's big "hits" (actually tackles) wouldn't be big if he didn't have the force and power to go along with it. Jordan Williams could be one hell of a player
This is a mixture of rugby league and rugby union........when played well both are equally thrilling.
As an American, I deeply wish rugby was broadcast in the USA. I would gladly give up soccer(yes SOCCER it's a *British* term) and football for rugby on TV.
(8:07) I don't know the rules but that was fucking awesome.
+Harry Balzak hahahah Americans when they see rugby they love it don't they hahaha one day ma bro
+Harry Balzak Im happy America started rugby but they suck. All blacks almost scored or if not 100 points on them. It was like playing against a baby
Asher Jack
Its action packed, highly athletic and stategic, brutal, padless, and the rules are a huge mystery to me, which I think might make it more entertaining. I never know whats going to happen next.
Olikong McManus America didn't make rugby
Weepu handing off Aaron Smith then getting smashed by Nonu at the end is the best bit
he didnt really get smashed he just got shoulder charged by nonu cause thats the only thing his good at.
B00Bthruster69 there was that great delayed pass to smith about half way thru
Ye g
awesome skills & crap music
Nonu on the receiving end of a shoulder charge for a change 5:53
This just shows how you can either get through with pure agility or pure strngth
Who else has no clue about rugby but is here for the violence
Nonu is nothing but a thug now. Can't tackle legally whatsoever. But great video.
Ma'a nonus hit on weepu at the end :')
Where was George Norths dump tackle carry for the lions ?!
now this is the beautiful game :)

Rugby just rocks, only played it for a couple of years at school, biggest regret, not pursuing it further

Funny. Folau dojng well... but dont show when North nailed him! :)
Cool video, but you can see that its someone who loves the Aussies who made it... Australia is very good at making hard and dangerous hits, its just sad that they arent that great at winning games :-) Bokke FTW!!!!
BOKKE!
BOKKE MY BRA! Lol
Mate shut up australia is better than your country Australia hmm Radike Samo Quad cooper mate get this out of here australia is at the top

Rugby is more tiring and energy consuming but american football definitely hurts more. And this is coming from a guy that has played 5 rugby seasons and only 3 american football seasons
Not a fan of music with the videos but I like the video. Plays like this, to me, make this the best
game on the planet.
George North the giant
rugby players are built for endurance

I play for the Lehigh Valley Hooligans in the USA and trust me this game is both as fun as it is conditional
song's name.?
There's people saying nfl hits are harder well they hit nearly everywhere on the body, and in rugby they don't aim to hit hard they aim for legs as you can't run without them so not every tackle is a huge hit
Depends what code you're playing, usually league players have to tackle high to prevent an offload
+1runerman Also in NLF they have helmet and big protections
Respect to those rugby players! :D
Whoever made this is a Falou fan boy
Obvious Australian is obvious.
the way they tackle is totally different from football. it doesn't seem as big of a hit as the ones in football. maybe this isn't showing all the big hits. but with just this video, football hits seem to be bigger hits.
dude remember in football you can tackle however you want and you are wearing a helmet and padding and have basically two teams, one for attack and one for defense and have a chance to get your breath between downs, in rugby you play 80min non stop and when you get hit you actually feel it
lol whats you trying to prove here

I got question i dont play rugby or watch it but why do they dive at the end always. Is it a rule to touch the ball on the floor when you score.
Anthony Mata they dive as a celebration but if you don't touch it in the try area it doesn't count or if they drop it it doesn't count
Take a moment to check out my Rugby vid on my channel! Cheers!
Your vids are genuinely great, keep me coming!
Erm, I meant them but apparently I come over vids... *backs away slowly*
snoogyify I can't stop laughing at this honestly
as an ex-rugby and league player,I would say that union is the most dangerous of all three, but wouldn't say NFL are sissys, they have big hits too, used to like polomona,on defence ,he was the best in NFL,but league players are generally the smallest of the three, looking forward to superbowl 2015,world cup union 2015,and mens and womens world series sevens.its all good ,bro

Fofana's try against England was just unbelievable!
Georgia is the best!
We have this sport in America. It's called "Smear the Queer" and it's played on school playgrounds by children who later grow up to play a real sport called football. Play a real sport bros.

Where's Motu'u hit on Hodgson!!??
I think Rugby is one kind of wrestling...Hahaha
As an American who is used to watching football hits, this doesn’t seem anywhere near as violent. But I will say I’m out of breath just watching these guys run so much.
I play rugby in Czech Republic
Rugby is more tiring and energy consuming but american football definitely hurts more. And this is coming from a guy that has played 5 rugby seasons and only 3 american football seasons
Wassup- It's Unbelievable" irate embarrassed $ 1!
Fucking hell i love rugby..i wanted to ask if it's a foul if you slide or trip the opponent while running nut it's obvious that it is..and is it a foul if you tackle someone who isn't having the ball ?
why replay the illegal tackles, proper hard tackles are much more satisfying
That last hit jesus
American football "is" A sissy game and the reason they are hit harder is because they have padding on and they wear helmets and all kinds of gear but in rugby all you wear is a mouth guard
You should up load a version without the gaybar music
michael hooper
why are illegal tackles included? it's easy to take someone out like that and above all its dangerous...
i love this sport
You see these "top" plays in every nfl game.....im not a huge fan of the nfl i just dont see the skill here compared to the nfl
No Willie le Roux? He was brilliant in 2013!
Very good mix Thelnward. Good job!
Typical American. Rugby Union and League are two of the most popular field sports in the World. Unlike your World Series which you guys play and is only played in the
Capitalist Empire!!!
What about some crusaders action not just receiving but also giving
Fucking Awsome video and what's the songs name
The majority of this is southern hemisphere
I LIKE
9:10 - the reason chris ashton should never play international rugby again
