Opened my Spotify at work, saw this new single and screamed “let’s fucking gooooo,” my manager then gives me the side eye so I showed her my phone and she then screams “let’s fucking goooo.” I’m so happy this band is still pushing.
I’ve been listening to tssf since while you were sleeping in 2010! I’ve also seen them live like 13 times or so. Lol I love the band so much and their music means so much to. Nice video bro. I appreciate seeing someone else show them love. I subbed
I saw them twice. Both were before the Proper Dose era. I would love to check out how they are live right now. I wouldn't ever get on the stage with them though lol I'm too old to get kicked in the back
That's bad ass! I saw them twice both during self titled era. I saw some very recent live footage that was...troubling. They kinda do look like a band that's struggling like some people have said due to losing Kelen and Torf being off of drums that I didn't wanna believe. Hope they get through it. I love both of Parker's bands but TSSF is one of my favorite bands too for so long. They're flawless.
Bro I love your passion for this band, all of your analytics of TSSF. I first discovered them at a live show in 2012 and that was it for me. Just fell completely in love with the sound. TSSF really created a “new category” - expanded way beyond pop punk. Your comment “this one’s probably gonna grow on me” is exactly right. As I’ve kept coming back to this one, it’s becoming one of my new favs of theirs. After five years, to have this sound come out it feels like saying hello to an old friend. It had me reliving other albums, memories, etc - and it feels like a solid effort in the context of what we’ve heard before. The key/tuning feels very “What you don’t see,” while the roughness and style feels very “self titled.” But lyrically and thematically you hear this and you can tell it’s a more mature band. Whatever TSSF is cooking up, I’m ready for it. It’s gonna be great. Liked and subscribed man!
I'm so sorry for the late response bro. This is a great comment. Listening to this was like reuniting with an old friend indeed! Proper dose stayed so fresh over the years that I didn't even realize how long it had been!
Thanks so much!! I didn't have much in mind when going into this one..just spoke from the heart about a band that's been near and dear to me for years!
The instrumentation in TSSF music is way more melodic than most other pop punk bands, which isn't a diss to other bands. To me they are actually closer to a metal / hardcore band based on the way they write their rhythm guitars and layer their lead guitars. The drumming really cements this as well. So glad they are back and I can't wait for a full album! Awesome reaction.
I agree! They are to post hardcore/pop punk what iya terra is to reggae. The metal influence is on full display in the songwriting possibly more than even the creators of the music realize. Great comment, sorry I didn't see it sooner!
I heard that (just rumors from people online) that Blink 182 said they bring TSSF on their UK tour but Blink wanted them to put out new music 😊 as for the accuracy on that info I'm not 100%
Such a fun „comeback“ track and as you mentioned, that familiarity is what made me enjoy it so damn much. Btw, hope you don‘t mind me asking - a band I play in called „Fainthearted“ just released our debut single „REM“ and I was wondering whether you would be open to giving it a review/reaction. Could fit in well with the more metalcore part of your channel :)
Veil of Maya, After the Burial, Sleep Token, Bilmuri, Gideon, Shadow of Intent, and now a TSSF comeback...I've been diggin so many new tracks in 2023 already that I can't decide!
@@sourcheeks If most of what you listen to is in the vein of TSSF, you will definitely like Bilmuri. The other bands are metalcore or deathcore and sleep token I don't know what genre to call them lol. Parker's new band is great! Every song on the no pressure album is good!
Regarding your comment about the drums, i know ryan torf has had some issues with his wrists and shoulders and switched to guitar and keyboards. They’ve had a new drummer at their shows. Idk if torf did the drums on this song but i have a feeling he didnt.
That's awful. He's such an integral part of the sound. My issues here were more with the drum production but now that you bring that up, I can see also that this is most likely a different session kinda drummer. Torf woulda had more flair in the fills.
The comment you made on the drums could be due to kellen (the old bassist) not being in the bad anymore and so their old drummer took over on bass and they got a new drummer

Same. I can wait as long as I have to for the next masterpiece.

@@Rob_Cary yeah im 32 lmao i just violently finger point at the front while singing haha
I saw them live in 2013 when the second album came out. It was amazing! Definitely one of my favorite bands

hell yeah, thank you@@Rob_Cary !!
Agree that Proper Dose is aging so well. Even as a long time fan, Upside Down is my fav song overall. Completes the story.
Great breakdown, bro! Described everything perfectly. Their songs are beautiful!
"Growing on You" and "Clairvoyant" were both really ambitious and beautiful pieces of music for them! I hope they lean more into it!
20000 listens in it is DEFINITELY growing on me :)
Like a blade in a lawn that's new
love your vids bro, love TSSF and your take is spot on, a pleasure mate ✌🤟
Thanks so much!!
Great points all around, you described perfectly why we love this band so much. Just found you and subscribed, in the words of tssf: "keep this up"
Thanks so much!! I didn't have much in mind when going into this one..just spoke from the heart about a band that's been near and dear to me for years!

When will. Be the album??? To launch
