The harmony on ‘both my aces’ is just so killer. Classic TSSF.

It's always a good day when TSSF releases something. Even better knowing it's been FIVE LONG YEARS. Cheers boys.

No pressure is some of my favorite stuff, and usually i like it more than story so far, but this is awesome! Also i feel no pressure was more new found glory influenced than even the old story so far

Small bling big blind means the starting bets.
The line references the person who Parker is singing about is only putting in a minor effort while Parker is putting in the bigger effort. Effort is representative of the bets.
Also “put up the hearts and I put up both my aces” the hearts could mean she’s trying to play at his heart strings but he’s got the master stroke in that he has the aces (best hand).

I read this pretty much the opposite. It feels like the song is about manipulating someone into falling for you even though it's casual to you "Though I wanted you, my intent was flawed from the start", '"I will stack the deck" and (as you correctly identified) he has aces up his sleeve when she puts up her heart (literally), lured into his trap. "Not very far apart, still on different pages" points to them both wanting some kind of intimacy but not the same kind. So I think the girl is the one who is more invested (big blind) in this scenario, putting up her heart against a stacked deck playing with someone who has flawed intentions. It's a dangerous game.

I like it but I'm pretty excited to see what else they're going to put out. The drums are super aggressive, especially on the hook, which I love, and the rhythm guitar is dirty and grungy on the rhythm which contrasts with the higher vocals nicely in my opinion. I do hope they have some more aggressive songs that sound similar to heavy gloom or mock.

To me ‘War’ is the greatest TSSF song and clearly we won’t see much more of that heavier side. 😢

Are you thinking of Story Of The Year, rather than TSSF? I get em mixed up now and then too haha, don't think TSSF have a song called War and they've never really been heavy

    The issue with it is..
The bigger a band gets, the more 2-3 top songs are getting newer fans' attention.
So, let's say, Spiritbox has Circle With Me but also Constance.
If Constance gets more fan support, theoretically, that's the style the band will play.
It's not like anyone forces these bands to write these songs.
So let's leave it out there:
Old fans of Story So Far can be comforted knowing they play the old songs live.
But those fans wanting more of the same can just listen to the other band.
It would be stupid to make the same album multiple times, over and over.
As an artist, your work should be both internally (the self) and externally (your experience in the world and reaction to it) motivated.
If both are constantly changing, I'd say that person is now no longer an artist but a fabricator.
And while fabricators are essential, they're not artists.
A chef making something new is an artist.
    McDonald's is a fabricator.
A musician plays songs to different people every single show, in different cities, states, countries, and continents.
To suggest a band should ever stick to one pocket of music and simply remain there, unchanged, forever, is just a waste.
When a band gets too big (it's absolutely a thing), they literally cannot progress due to fan support for a specific time in that band's history.
    Johnny literally said it here:
He fell off when they went more pop.
So instead of making music they want to make, they should stick to the older sound because older fans don't like change?
    No, of course not.
The fact the band is providing an outlet for that more aggressive sound is more than most artists would provide, and if it's just the vocalist or two people from a 4-5 piece band, why should three or four people wanting to grow and explore their sound be compromised by that desire to conform?
We talk about bands selling out, but in reality, bands like Nickelback and ACDC sell out constantly by failing to evolve when they as people are constantly changing.
