Well, if your productions demand the capabilities of such a high end camera, it is probably a good choice - and it's pretty cost efficient for what it does. It's basically a high end RED, but without the many wildly expensive accessories that are needed just to operate a RED properly.
Nice footage by the Venice. I know this isn't the topic of the video, but that interview footage is distracting. What camera did they use? Why does it look dull and overexposed lol.
I bet this has better iso performance than the A7SII. The full frame is probably great for low light. Like a night shoot. Can it do great low noise footage at ISO 409,600 or something ?
Sony isn't even trying to hide that they are coping the Arri! they didn't even bother to change the menu structure! No wonder it is more intuitive. Sony CineArri...
I am sorry but Sony was the first one using that structure on their F23 camera (released in 2007) which came out before the Alexa (released in 2010) was even in development. And who cares? Filmmakers wanted familiar cameras onset and the camera manufactures listened. Now you can easily go to a Sony, Alexa or Varicam without even thinking twice. That's why people doing set work with multiple camera assistants prefer these cameras over REDs.
It's like asking why there are people who like to shoot with angular or telephoto lenses instead of using normal lenses, it's aesthetic and a narrative tool, not a true copy of reality.
Thanks for posting this up, love seeing the behind the scenes.
Looks like a great camera! Can't wait to use it!
Cinematic elements are you spielberg or something?
No, and do not claim to be. I often shoot on RED's. We rent what is needed for the project.

@@highgroundproductions8590 I just want to use the Sony Venice to record personal vacation videos.
C love the CAM
There is an text editor with code/config file opened on the laptop here 7:05, what can that be for?
Anyone notice Venice has the word 'CINE' backwards in it? 😄
well spotted :-)
Thank you

Looks amazing to me. I can't wait to see what James Cameron can do with this camera on the next Avatar movies... whenever they are.....
what do they had above the lens? was it for focus pulling ? what is it called ?
Wonderful!
I'm looking at the sound tech, I've never seen a deadcat like that, what is it call? I'm curious

base iso is 500
Dude what are you talking about this is a cine camera. It'll never go past base iso
@@salvadorvega9834 Lol I bet he's disappointed that it doesn't have a flip screen.
Why does the camera shot only 60 frames in 4k, It would be great if it would do at least 120
Won't the built in NDs get dirty over time? At least with the screw on NDs you can clean them and who needs in body ND when you can use in lens ND?
No they don't get dirty.. There's a lens covering it lol
They are electronic charged to create the tint
SONY and Davinci Resolve???? Not sure what format you are using but Davinci do not get along with Sony codecs
filmpractica CR wrong

Why do ppl like softness and shun sharpness? Can this camera produce razor sharp results?
