One idea for interpreting the stable to unstable chords in the melody is the perpetual struggle between Rauru and Ganondorf that kept them stuck in that place.
This was a fun video - when a minor 7 chord sounds like the "pretty" and consonant of the two chords that's probably a good sign that the music is moving in a creepy direction! I also really like the use of a pedal tone which isn't the root of either chord. It adds to the feeling of unease.
When i came into this scene and heard it for my first time i immediately went to my piano and tried to analyze it. Such an great creepy piece. I need the alien choir sounds. Where can i get this kind of sounds? Anyway..great video! I enjoyed it a lot. I thought it would start on B Minor haha.
Great video again :). Another thing that adds a lot of creep factor to a soundtrack (and you can hear it in this one as well) is a heavy bass, and very high-pitched sounds (that glassy piano thing). I forgot in which video I watched it, but one guy was talking about how high and low sounds make us very uncomfortable and set our danger senses tingling... :D.
I had to pause at 0:36 to comment this, I haven't even seen the rest of the video yet but I'm sure it's great, but there's just something I need to get out of my system. CAT! I DID NOT KNOW YOU HAD A CAT. WHAT IS ITS NAME? IS IT A BOY OR GIRL? CAN I PET IT? Okay I'm good.

Would love more videos on Tears of the Kingdom, especially how the woodwind composing works on the score!
Agreed
One of my favorite musician RUclipsrs doing an analysis of one of my favorite motifs from one of my new favorite games? Heck yeah!
That was very inspiring! I'm going to use that on a song about psychosis.
Love these main channel videos, always helpful.

Would you be able to do a video on the music for Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion? More specifically the track titled "Wings of Kynareth"?
Great piece of music. It just does what it's supposed to do perfectly.
That was very interesting. That so much tension can be created with so little is admirable.
I would love more analysis on ToTK!
Nice video!
After all these years, Secret of Mana track Ceremony is still one track that creeps me out.
I love the Secret of Mana music!
Reminds me most of the music from METROID even from the NES
These pieces remind me of Super Metroid in particular, so I agree. I thought I was the only one thinking of this.

“down below the like button” was so smooth
Thanks but I stole that from MKBHD 😅
by the way, Title theme from ocarina of time starts with a F and C chord
Bahahah....the cat!

Okay I'm good.
His name is Blob Cat (named by a 4-year-old)
Hey I am just wondering what synth sound do you think the composer for this voice sound?
Feels like how Tool plays with their polyrhythm
the voices are creepy but i like them
Hi Ryan. Your videos really help me out!
Can you tell me which keyboard you use? (i saw one on your table but can`t identify it)
M-audio keystation 61 mk3, which I chose because it's a weighted keyboard that takes up a minimal amount of space on my desk
@@RyanLeach OK thanks. I will definitely keep that one in mind.
Most subtly unsettling part of this video: using a capital B as a flat sign in a chord symbol 😨
blame the Hyrulian font
:)
