This was the guitar of my best friend who passed from cancer last December 22nd. He offered to sell it to me but I couldn't buy it because the moment he made the offer, knowing he was dying, was too overwhelming for me emotionally to process what was happening. A few weeks before he passed, he called me up and asked if I could come over. When I got to his house, he passed his Les Paul to me and said he wanted me to have it. It was the greatest honor of my life to take the guitar as my own. Days before he passed in hospice, I took the guitar to him and showed him that I had a new truss rod cover made that had the nick name I always called my friend engraved on it. In a weak emotional voice he said, "that is cool!" That guitar will be loved and played and with me for the rest of my life. Adios Brother Dave, I will always miss you and will always remember you.

Thanks for sharing your story, brother. I'm sure some of his spirit lives on in that guitar and the love behind that gift.
