    Thank you for making these videos. I’ve admired your playing for a while and always loved the sounds you get. It’s been super helpful to get tips straight from you. I feel more confident as an electric guitar player after picking up some of your tips and tricks.
    I’m 16 and I play bass at my church (sometimes electric guitar for certain songs), but electric guitar is my favorite to play. I got my first Tele in October-thanks to the generosity of a lady from my church-and I hope to get a tube amp soon. I’m thinking Vox ac10c1. I played an ac30 once and absolutely adored it, but they’re probably too expensive for me. 😃 I’ve got some pedals, and I would love to eventually get a Les Paul (kid can dream, right?). But I love my Tele, and my fulldrive goes great with it.
    (sorry for such a long comment😃)
    Thank you for making these videos!!! 😋🎸

    Love it! I’ve dialed mine to nearly the exact same settings for a while as you so cool to see us doing it the same.

    Fantastic sounding amplifiers!! I have a C30 as well but my amp doesn't begin to break up on that volume setting on the EF86 channel.

    Something is really different here to my DC30. If I were to run the same settings I'd get dead clean tone. It sounds like you have a clean boost in front or extremely hot pick ups. Unless the volume pot rotated on its axis and is indicating the wrong volume. If not I wonder how dirty it will get at gig volumes. Anyway it sounds great nonetheless!

    Great vid, I have a chieftain and run the master at full and the gain at quarter the tones are unreal 🎸🎸

    Loudest 30 watt you can buy. Almost too loud for gigs. Do you use an attenuator? I even have a Weber Mini Mass attenuator on my Matchless Laurel Canyon 20w

    Daniel are you micing your cab here to get it into the computer, or are you using some kind of reactive load

      hey Tim! So my current setup is a work in progress for youtube :) I am using an SM7B for a speaking mic that's in the studio with me. The matchless head is in the studio with me as well. The Cab (65 Amps cab w/blue speaker) is down below in a "isolated" space in the garage...and I have that mic'd up with a 57. For recording, I use a ribbon mic too...but for these videos so far its just been the 57...I'm trying to keep it simple ha! So yes, the cab is mic'd with a 57 through a vintech mic pre into apogee duet into pro tools. Then in pro tools I duck the speaking mic when I play so that you can hear the amp mic if that makes sense. It's not perfect but its the best system I've found so far while making these videos!

    I remember the first time I played a DC-30. I was really confused. Coming from the normal channel on my AC30tbx made the Matchless seem so dang bright. To this day I haven't played one and been genuinely happy with the tone. It either sounded too clean and thin, or too gainy and boomy. The bass on those amps is weird too. There's so much of it, but it doesn't flub out. It's like someone swapped your 57 for a subkick.
    Thanks for the video, dude. I'll have to give this another watch next time I'm plugging into a Matchless.

    Awesome! Very helpful! Love your approach! So I have a question for you, it doesn’t relate to this video but my question is, what kind of delays do you use on the song “Our God.” Like are you using a dotted 8th delay or something else?

    • @danielcarsonguitar6873
      @danielcarsonguitar6873  4 года назад +4

      Cole Sigley thanks man! just a quarter note analog delay for Our God most of the time...I used to put a subtle reverse delay underneath it as well :)

    Hi Daniel, do you usually dial in your tone using the bridge pickup, or where? This sounds pretty dark to be the bridge, so just curious.

    What are your thoughts on the Kemper? I use that as my main rig these days and love it. You had much experience using either that, the Helix etc?

    • @danielcarsonguitar6873
      @danielcarsonguitar6873  4 года назад +1

      Jo-Lee Music the kemper is amazing! I have one and I’m really impressed with it. I use my real amps 99% of the time, but the kemper is very useful and I’ll probably need it from time to time! Haven’t messed with the helix. I once used the UA OX in the studio and it was incredible. Definitely something to keep exploring. The tones are amazing these days from those units!

    So in a live setting where you’re switching guitars, are you basing the foundation of your sound off of the instrument that will be used for the majority of your set? Or is there a happy medium you look for where you’d only have to make minor adjustments on the pedalboard that makes the specific guitar come alive

    • @danielcarsonguitar6873
      @danielcarsonguitar6873  4 года назад +4

      Jonnie8791 great question! Yes, I sort of set it up with the guitar I am going to be using the most...However, the Les Paul or Fano are louder than the Tele so they break up the amp more...so yes, I’ll find a happy in between and use pedals to make up the difference in gain

Just wondering if you have any tips on touring, or any experiences you could share? It would be inspiring! Thanks for these videos too!
