Hey bud, I thought you looked familiar! I've seen you on some of Corporals Corners videos. My questions to you are first how did that air matt work out? Was it comfortable, and how long have you had it? Also is it rugged enough to stand up to them sticks and twigs?? I've been looking for a good quality blow up sleep pad. Another thing is that water filtration system you used. Where did you get it and how much did it cost?? Great job with that bow drill!! Also I've never seen anyone carry there gear in a wool blanket. You really do look like a civil war soldier!! Also I wouldn't worry to much about your weight. You look like your build like me. Husky but strong! Anyways thanks for sharing! As soon as I get the time and save up the money. I want to take some of the classes at the Pathfinder school. With Dave Canterbury, Shawn Kelly, and the Grey Bearded Green Beret! I'd love to get to the point that I could be an instructor myself! All in good time! I just came across your channel today. I liked and subscribed. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your overnighters! That mac and cheese with hamburger looked good! God bless brother! Stay safe! And God bless America!🤜🤛🇺🇸🇺🇸

Hey Paul I haven’t been in any of his videos but he definitely knows his stuff! The Klymit mat held up fine and is comfortable. The water filtration bottle is a Grayl. $90 but worth every penny! thanks for watching

@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound Awesome! Thanks for letting me know about the Kylmit sleep pad. I'm guna have to get one! I really thought I saw you on Corporals corner. But I guess you must have a twin brother out there. Thanks for letting me know! God bless brother!🤜🤛🇺🇸🇺🇸

Pooter new sub here! Brother since I was a baby on my birthday my mom made that meal for me , but my man you’re missing one thing... RITZ crackers! Yes! Butter / toast them up & mix it with the Mac & Beef & as Corporal would say “ You’re good to go” lol Great vid man & I love that you’re down to earth. I would love to see that pot adjustment up close. I think I got it figured out, but maybe in another vid. 2 👍👍up ! Love the meal pic 👌💥

Oh it’s not easy ,you only have to try and you will find out. It takes time and practice until you get it, I’m still practicing lol in Australia I can’t seem to find the right woods to use so that’s a problem at the moment. I’m not quitting though I’m determined to get it. 👍

Ytanythinggoes one thing i’ve learned so far is to not push down so hard on the bearing block. just go slow and easy until the notch fills up with dust then give her hell!
I know that’s not a real technical way of explaining it but i’m still trying to perfect it

    • @fishmut

I love whole blanket bedroll idea. Great job. According to a lot of Civil War images and paintings the Confederates carried their haversacks on the opposite hip to your bedroll tie. Their pots were often tied to the outside of the haversack, but you did well to get all of your accoutrements in the roll! Nice going.

@@TonyPowers_Dirtbound Your welcome. I subscribed to your channel. Your are great and authentic so that's an awesome quality. Stand on the giants shoulders like Dave and see further ahead. As you pick up those tips and tricks, take 5-10 minutes of your time and show everyone. People will love you for showing them something they haven't seen. For instance, today I gave myself a haircut and then looked down at my hair and said to myself, "I bet that would make a great fire tinder like lint from the dryer." No one has ever taught that at least that I have seen. If you have ever burned some hair on your arm, you know what I am talking about. Lol. Keep up the great work my friend! God bless

My favorite camping meal is marinated steak tips shish kabob style with onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Along with baked potatoes cut open with butter, onions, peppers, and mushrooms, stuffed inside wrapped in tin foil rite on the fire. Usually rite on the coals. Also if you really want to make it even better. You can wrap the meat with bacon, and throw some cooked bacon inside the baked potato with the butter, peppers, onions, and mushrooms! Now that is a meal that will bring your moral up!🤜🤛🇺🇸🇺🇸

Another good one. I really enjoy your military references. I spent 29 yrs in. 12 in the infantry and combat engineers then life got real easy when I finished off 17 with the Air National Guard but when I was in the infantry we did cross training with the Marines they trained us for amphibious assault and we trained our Marine counterparts in air insertion. I loved it. Well anyways I'd be interested in your online classes. I just moved from the country where we had quite I bit of wooded land but now we live in the south in a neighborhood, but our backyard is fair sized and fairly wooded. So I could probably still practice in my backyard.

Great video! Try a can of rotel to that recipe and make goulash. My favorite camp meal is definitely steak and baked potato.
