Thank you for reminding me of this sissone simple. I only teach Int/adv students so we just do the sissone ferme and ouvert. Now I will incorporate the sissone simple as I warm them up for sautés in class 👍👍
I love teaching this to my 2nd year students. They start at the barre after they master soubresaute and just do tendue side after holding the landing position. This then leads to entrechat trois.

This is in the R.A.D. syllabus though they call it a sissonne ordinaire. It is such a useful preparation for cleanly landing entrechat trois!
