Josie!!!! Thanks for the mention girl! I know I’m a year late to the party here, but I wanted to thank you for the plug. It is my pleasure to make my videos, and I’m glad you found them so useful. Hope you’re well!
Thank you so much Josie! I'm a sophomore taking ap chem and everyone I know has been telling me not to take the class. You are so relatable and give me motivation to do well in this class.

if you wanted to that would be great, but no! i would just read chapters you’re struggling with because there will be some chapters you understand 100% and you don’t need to spend a bunch of time reading those.
I'm so glad that you made this video. I was honestly giving up on learning intro Chem, for AP Chem, but you gave me motivation to power through. Thank you!
OMG Thank you SM for recommending me to abigail giordano!!! I found out that she uses my same textbook which is a huge bonus cause I can't learn a thing from my AP chem class
Going into AP chem with no actual background in chemistry is relatable, since I was a sophomore when I did it. *I have no idea how I managed to get a 5 while not really understanding electrochemistry* I'm now taking AP bio 2 years later (because physics > bio, so I did that first) And I *regret* my life choices.
@@user-tl5sm3ux2e Electrochemistry was the hardest. (I think it's a subset of equilibrium, not sure) I could do the calculations, but if you asked me to explain what was happening I'd just say "uh. Something to do with it wanting to go to equilibrium I guess" Next worst thing was just remembering all the different geometric shapes that are formed from the different bonds and charge clouds.
you got a 5 as a sophomore?? thats what im shooting for right now as a sophomore myself, and im worried about not having any previous chemistry classes prior but im determined to get a 4 or 5 :) (sorry this is a year late)
@@teeganrainwater9146 Yeah, best advice I can give you is just keep doing practice exams and try to get the timing down. Look over all the labs and procedures you do in class and make sure you understand both what was done and why it was done because there's always going to be a problem where you have to write up a lab to test for x result based on given information. Also do not sleep on the homework, even if it's a small percentage of your grade. That's extra practice for you and an opportunity to go over any misconceptions you may have. Also, don't forget your calculator... because I did and only had a calculator for half of the free response and pretty much worked through half the test by hand, checking with a calculator at the end. (and having a calculator matters more now that collegeboard is allowing calculators on multiple choice, which I think will actually make things harder since now instead of easy numbers they have an excuse to give you more complicated ones)
Thanks so much for all this info . I’m going to take ap chem this year and I desperately need a 5 . I’m trying to get mentally ready 😎 and this was an awesome video.
Josie Zakrzewski being honest with you I’m kinda stressed about the whole thing . I’m motivated I really am. The problem is where to start. You see I took honors chem sophomore year and now this year I’m going to take ap chem my senior year and I don’t remember anything like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and I don’t even have my all notes . If you have any websites that I can look at take notes and really understand the concept for the summer assignment and just the class in general that would be amazing. I know khan academy is good but i don’t know ..I just don’t know where to start 😭
don’t stress too much!! you still have plenty of time. khan academy is good of course, but the other videos i mentioned may be more helpful for you. if i remember correctly, she goes over all of the info you should’ve learned in your honors course. if you have specific concepts you’re struggling with, let me know, and i can link some vids/pages that i used for them!

Hi Josie, I am such a huge fan of your RUclips channel and I really appreciate how you are willing to give such great advice as well as encouragement to people like me taking high school AP courses. I am taking AP Chem now and it is a struggle, but I know it will be worth it in the long run. I was also wondering which solubility rules you would recommend are worth memorizing for the AP Chem exam?
Is there anyway you can share your pre-exam notes and your chapter booklets? I’m taking AP Chem this year and I have no previous knowledge of the course because I also skipped Pre-AP and CP Chem, frankly I’m quite nervous about the class. Hello! I'm just wondering something and will be so happy if you answer it. Does Barron's book involves any lecturing or just questions and tests? great video, I've subscribed :)
Right now I'm doing a physical science class which has chemistry in it a bit so that's good but I'm transferring schools and the school I'm going to offers biology only for freshman. I wonder what I should do before going into a chemistry class and then AP Chemistry after that year
question: my chem teacher says that the ap multiple choice questions are very conceptual and different from barron multiple choice questions, is this true from your experience testing?
i’m 2 years late but i’m taking ap chem next year barley any experience in chem. did ur school give u a textbook and do you recommend the barons ap chem book ?
Can you share your pre exam booklets and chapter booklets with me? I just started junior year and I am so nervous and overwhelmed about al chem. This would be so helpful...thx girlie!
Should I take ap chem ?? I’ve never been good in science throughout my education (k-11) but chem was easy for me because of math and stoichiometry was not really that hard for me but there were times my brain didn’t work .
I like chem but AP Chem is not easy. However, if you enjoy the topic and are willing to put in the effort that the class demands, (and have at least a half decent memory), you’ll be okay.
