I feel like the Bumblebee movie got the perfect equilibrium between making the transformers look both "realistic" and true to the OG cartoon yet being original and unique. While still keeping some of the cool stuff the Bayformers gave us (like Bumblebee's battle-mask thingie)
And these toys definitely make justice to that.
Bumblebee was a step ahead from bayformers. If only they get rid of MB and use these better designs...
They could remove all humans and do a movie set only in Cybertron, but i'm dreaming too high...
Regi Corp totally agree. Travis Knight was the perfect choice for Bumblebee and they should have him helm the reboot movies. Dude knows what he’s doing.

True, Baymblebee was the one real improvement from the movies. The original G1 bumblebee was kind of lame to be honest.

I think this is the only version of the BB movie Optimus that got the legs right in truck mode. Very clever hiding of the feet in truck mode, and the fuel tanks in robot mode. Well done.

Why no other toy makers could figure out a way to make this trucks transformation the way it's meant to be, ( I mean the waist has to turn to the back to align with the legs which is inaccurate, why couldnt they make the legs face the front with the thigh swivel🤔🤔🤔)

Then you haven’t seen the ToyWorld TW F09 Optimus prime aka freedom leader transformer. That toy is amazing, makes this thing look like a G1 toy. Search SwiftTransform Optimus prime.

It is Henry Orenstein who came up with the idea of transformers. A jewish man who survived the holocaust. He made toy cars and trucks that transformed into robot, but he did not originally call them transformers. Early on, Hasbro got the patent for the figures and then proceeded to make them the “TRANSFORMERS” name that we all know. The show was made soon after. And now here we are today.
Henry Orenstein is the originator. They just dont give him his credit for obvious reasons💯

I love the vehicle form. I know he was a Kenworth k100 in g1, but the Marmon fits him so well.

I like the second head is more screen accurate . It was really hard to swap the heads though at least on mine and I’ve almost given up but did it 👍🏻
Actually, I would like some brand-new (or simply rarely-used) design for Optimus. I mean that after Bay, the only distinct designs are movie design (and Prime design derived from it),
G1 and Star Convoy (integrated trailer) design for the awful RiD series. For ex. Energon Optimus with some design upgrades (proportions) would be cool. There is a lot of abadoned designs. Of course, why make a new design if you can always make G1 design with a minor tweak for line-wide gimmicks!

Great video. I was very excited for this figure until I saw how big it was going to be, then I canceled my preorder. I don't need every single 3rd party figure to be a foot tall! I really wanted something like this in a much smaller size like SS or MPM scale.

The truck design is basically the Mamon cab over body design From age of extinction Optumis prime evasion mode mix with just the freightliner FL86 head lights and Bumper from the Travis knight movie

I can relate to that. Had g1 prime as a kid. Some of these new toys while highly detailed are just too complex even though I'm sure thier's kids out their that can handle this stuff. I just wish we could have a good balance between transformation mechanic and detail.

were. This is real engineering to have something that can go from a passable actual Semi to a very close approximation

Yeah same dude, probably so that it doesn't turn out like Bayverse protoforms you know, and maintain the G1 designs. The whole little Cybertron scene in the beginning was better than TF4 and TF5 altogether
It was probably snowing his earth design and I think his actual Cybertron form looks more like the War for Cybertron Optimus Prime vehicle mode

@@theaverageclownhole3369 some of the Autobots should have a tint of Detroit since they're mostly cars...save for Ironhide and Optimus, like Ironhide could hail from New Orleans while Prime could come from either Birmingham or Nashville. Heck, I wouldn't mind if Hotrod had a Boston accent.
Nothing to worry about the Decepticons though since they're all bad guys. They can stay as is.

Hasbro reused the model of truck that the evasion mode was when making SS-38 which is a Marmon cab over truck even though in the Bumblebee movie they showed Optimus as he always was, a Freightliner. I guess they cheaped out on making a new mold all together to give him 100% screen accuracy. Marmons are ok and the figure looks good but it would have been better molded from a Freightliner. I bet most people don't notice the diff one from the other and they all just look like square box trucks but I love trucks as much as transformers and all the details majorly stand out to me so I was disappointed when they got it wrong. I never understood why Bay used a Marmon in AOE, they're just not common but I guess he had to keep going with making his transformers different from the source material in every way. I expected a Freightliner there too as a throwback to G1. Sorry to rant, just wish things would be right more often.

As another viewer had predicted how the Bumblebee movie would be "way better" than Michael Bay's live action Transformers movie series, I'd like to be the first to say how THIS version of Optimus Prime is also waaay much better than Optimus variants from the movies... Autobots, transform and roll out!!!

@@bigbox1469Absolutely, Bayverse Optimus is what made Optimus a global icon known to everyone. This new design is also heavily inspired by Bayverse aesthetics which makes it look good. Some idiots want exact G1 design in live action which would look ridiculous.

Why TF Movies did not use this transformation method? This "transformation" look much realistic than we saw in the movies with complicated swivling, sliding, retracting, rotating, etc etc.
