I had a buddy who was a commercial pilot and he didn't like these V-tail Bonanzas - said they were "slippery" or something to that effect and could get away from a pilot, too easily. They either got into an overspeed configuration and over stressed the airframe or they flew into a storm. It was a '66 Bonanza so they could have had a structural failure, too - but that's pretty rare. Sad stuff.
With a debris field that large, this could come out to be severe thunderstorm related, they can rip a plane to shreds, prayers out to all involved in this tragic event.
