The report said the driver, murder suspect was 65 years old which means he has been arrested or at least known to police. Why doesn't the police release his name or description? Why hide information from the public?

This is outrageous! I see the violence towards offices everyday on the internet and am devastated that it has now come to Boise. Idaho citizens love their first responders but like anywhere else we have drugs and criminals. Condolences to his family and to all officers and deputies. To ne absent from the body is to be with the lord. I hope his family can take comfort from that. However the perpetrator is in a different place for eternity.

God bless you all. So grateful that the bystander stopped and started CPR. His action may have been what allowed the family to tell Deputy Bolter goodbye. Huge respect for first responders and emergency department personnel and all that you do for our communities. Thank you for all that you do.

Former Idaho resident, one thing I could always take solace in was community, strong families, faith, resilience, and neighborliness of the residents of Idaho no matter what town it was. To see this happen is just another reminder that even the best places to live have among them people who are capable of evil such as this, and it's getting more pervasive post-pandemic. We can postulate on the reasons for this but one thing is certain: This right here is the reason we HAVE law enforcement. Our LEOs are fellow members of our communities, many with spouses and children who they hope to come home to each day; and they're among _very_ few with the character to do this job on a daily basis when so many are working against them. Pray for ALL of them and show them and the family of this fallen officer the support they so desperately need presently.
Officer Bolter sister used to babysit us. This is so devastating to their family as him and his sister were very close. He was only in his twenties. He just had his birthday. I feel so bad for them. He was so so young.😞
They put their lives on the line every day, and have an incredibly dangerous job. I am so thankful for each and every LEO who stand at the ready to protect and serve. May God bless and protect them all. Thank you for your service. I am praying for the fallen officer's family, friends, co-workers and loved ones. Im so very sorry this happened. My deepest sympathy.

Why? why did this person feel the need to take an officer's life? I guess now we will never know, it seems that a lot of people see police as a threat and feel they need to be taken out. The victim's family has every right to know the identities of the people that made and sold the gun, parts and bullets and to know if those persons are retired cops, police, municipal or state employee or military family, if that shop is invested in with police, municipal or state employees personal or pension monies or if it was sold in a shop similarly staffed or intermingled with monies from the above mentioned sources.
