    Yes, very informative thanks. I watched both videos one after the other. I’ve just sown from seed and 5 have germinated! Thanks

      Hi Mark, so glad that these videos helped. I've also tried to sow from seed for the first time this year and by pure coincidence, 5 of mine have germinated too! They are so tiny, though, so I think it'll be a while before I need to plant them out 😃

    Beautiful! I am going to grow eucalyptus neglecta big o in zone 6b and I want to keep it a hedge next to my raised covered concrete patio. I hope it works!

    Thanks for this video, ma'am.
    I'm just wondering; what happens to what we hear about the eucalyptus killing other plants around them ?
    Are your other plants in that bed affected?

      Hi Gilbert, I haven't had any difficulty with the eucalyptus killing other plants. Planted directly beside and underneath the eucalyptus hedge, we have Choisya ternata (Mexican Orange Blossom), aquilegia (Granny's bonnets), a rosemary bush, Gaura, Cephalaria gigantea, Penstemon 'Mother of Pearl', Cheshire rose, and I also plant my snapdragons close by. So, I can honestly say that we haven't had any problems at all but then, we aren't growing trees - just a hedge at about 8ft tall. Hope this helps. Annette

    Thanks for the update, what species of eucalyptus is this

    • @cottoverdi
      @cottoverdi  2 года назад +1

      Hi Brandon. I can't say 100% but I think it's plain old Eucalyptus gunnii. 🌿

    I can't believe that was a year ago. It's looking amazing now 😍. We have a corner where we want something fast growing for privacy but not huge. Would this do okay being kept to around 8ft do you think?

      Hi Betty, I think eucalyptus would be amazing. 😍 Not only is it evergreen, but it looks and smells beautiful, and you can take cuttings for flower arranging. Of course it depends where you live and also how shaded the spot is, but if it gets some sun, then I think it'll be okay. 🌿🌳😁💚

      @@cottoverdi Thank you Annette. Sounds like it ticks lots of boxes and I know our garden centre has some nice ones. We’re in Cornwall so will get sun and hopefully it’ll do better in that spot than the Acacia that got battered in the recent storms 💨
