🚇 Toronto Transit Commission - Real Time Journey - Line 4 - Don Mills to Yonge

📔 DESCRIPTION 📔
Take a ride in the cab of the TTC's (‪@OfficialTTCchannel‬) Line 4 subway, in real-time, from Don Mills Station to Sheppard-Yonge Station.
The TTC's Line 4 subway opened in 2002 and is currently 5.5km in length with 5 stations and was the newest addition to the TTC subway network after Line 2 was first opened in 1966. While there has been criticism of Line 4 for its short length and relatively low ridership, proposals are now being drafted to extend Line 4 east to the intersection of Sheppard and McCowan where it would meet the new Line 2 extension that is now under construction from Kennedy to Sheppard; however, no funding or timeline has been given for the proposed Line 4 extension.
All footage captured in this video was recorded on July 6, 2022. All filming was completed under authorization from the Toronto Transit Commission. The TTC Subway font/typeface in this video is used under license from Quadrat Communications.

The newest addition to the subway network for heavy rail was the Kipling-Kennedy Extensions in 1980. In general that would be the Scarborough RT in 1985.

I really hope this line gets extended over to either the new Scarborough Town Center stop or the Sheppard stop on the Line 2 extension. As it is this line is a larger yearly cost than Line 3 (which I'm sad to see closing soon, but it's for the best as the trains are OLD)

what do you do, do you go on one train and record a forward and a return trip?

The filming actually took a few trains to do, part of which is to not stress out one operator the whole time, although I did have a subway supervisor accompanying the filming.
I filmed the departure of one train for the title shot, did the cab filming on the next train, filmed that train departing the other way, then filmed the cab footage the other direction on a third train.
