欧米では最近、「ASMR」と呼ばれる、柔らかい音や穏やかな動き、リラックスできる映像などを用いて、見る人に穏やかな感覚を与えるというコンセプトが非常に人気です。私自身、リラックスできることからASMRのファンですが、日本に来てみると、「ASMR」と銘打たなくても、ごく自然に日本の文化にはそのような文脈があることに気づかされます。日本の文化は、特定の感情をもたらすために小さなディテールが重要であることを理解しているようで、私が経験したそのようなコンテクストのひとつが茶道なのです。
小さな茶室では、私と今この瞬間だけが存在する。すべての懸念、心配、または急いで考えを忘れています。それどころか、着物の柔らかいそよぎ、畳のほのかな香り、やかんから茶碗への水の流れなど、あらゆる細部が、目の前の今に私を誘うのです。
この動画は、今この瞬間に立ち戻り、小さなことの大切さを思い出すためのものです。
眠っている間にこの動画を聴くのもいいし、一つひとつの繊細な動作に目を凝らして、澄んだ心だけがもたらす安らぎを感じてください。この二律背反の美しさ、シンプルさの中の贅沢さ、それが茶道なのです。
In Japan, there is the concept of ‘do’, or ‘way’, which involves a physical that leads the mind to a state of peace; a state of zen. Daily thoughts fade away, and the mind becomes clear. Whether martial arts, flower arranging, calligraphy or tea ceremony, traditional Japanese 'do' offers the human spirit a place to reconnect, refresh, and become fully present.
Whilst I am far from being expert, and still have so much to learn, there is something that makes me feel so at home when I enter the tea room. The outside world and all my worries and thoughts are momentarily forgotten, and instead, there is only the soft 'swish' of the kimono, the subtle fragrance of tatami, the trickle of water from kettle to cup. These minute details invite me back to all that I have: this very moment, right in front of me.
I share this video with you to bring you back to your present moment, and remind you of the importance of the small things.
Feel free to listen to this video as you sleep, or to watch each delicate action, so carefully practiced year after year, yet all done for a sense of ease that comes only from a clear mind. A beautiful dichotomy, a luxury within simplicity, that is tea ceremony. Please enjoy.

アリさんの着物姿とても素敵です💕
趣きのある茶室、静かに流れる時間一つずつの動作も無駄がなく綺麗で心が落ち着きます。
高校の文化祭、不謹慎ですが好きな先輩に憧れて茶道部のお茶を飲みに行きました。
足が痺れて立ち上がれず、転がってしまい恥ずかしい思い出があります。

前に京都で茶道を見たことがあります。良心な精神を身につけるため一つ一つの動作に決まりがあり、難しいようですね。アリさんはおしとやかで素質があるのですぐにできると思います。先が楽しみです。

昔ですが、梅鉢茶会に何度か参加させて頂きました。千利休や豊臣秀吉らの時代を想像し楽しませて頂きました。機会あればまた参加したいです。

茶道の所作一つ一つはホントに美しい。姿勢や精神の修行にもなるので、義務教育の中に取り入れてほしいくらいです。
茶道は日常から解き放たれるひとときです。礼儀作法を学ぶだけでなく、精神的な落ち着きを得るためにも、そうした「道」を義務教育として教えるという考えには賛成です。

Also I'm curious Ali-san, since you’re from UK, if you’ve seen the new movie staring by Bill Nighy. It’s called ‘Living’ which is a reimagining of Akira Kurosawa’s 1952 masterpiece ‘Ikiru’. It’s not here in Colorado theaters yet, so I haven’t seen it, but I will definitely when the chance comes around. I’m curious to know about your take on the movie ‘cause you’re so spiritual yet intelligent and philosophical in your observations of anything you encounter. 🥰
