Hope you got over the Covid soon. Glad to see a couple of .30-06 in there, it’s such a great all around cartridge. And the Model 71 in .348. Great rifle & a favorite cartridge. The Steyr 9.3 is another favorite. We had one growing up, my grandfather had gotten it in Austria after WW1. Surprised that the Remington 600 in 6.5 Rem Mag didn’t make it.
Covid was pretty mild thankfully! As a gun crank, I change my mind all the time but that Forbes 30-06 is still right up there..so much so that when another one came up for sale I bought another one! If I still lived in the lower 60 in Canada that 6.5 Rem Mag and the 25-06 would be right up there as well.
That stinks that you missed your hunt but good that you are doing as well as you are. I had the first round of that stuff 2 years ago and it was terrible. Great picks and I figured the 71 would be near the top of the list.👍🏻
Sucks you missed your buff hunt. Covid can really make one drag ones ass for sure. I had it last fall and my son called me out of bed to bring out the quad for a drag on a young bull moose he had killed with his bow. Well I HAD to go of course! Just really glad I was riding the quad and running the winch as my energy level was almost zero.
Wish you a speedy recovery! The top five has some beautiful firearms! Honorable mentions were just as nice! Take it easy.. you'll feel better by doing so! My worst symptom was a headache! Body aches and a fever one day.. but couldn't shake the headache!
Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well, I wish you a quick recovery. But if during your downtime, you become yet more restless, you can do a top ten!!! I believe a couple of your rifles are feeling a little neglected!! 😉😁
You’ll be back on your feet quickly I’m sure!! Nice collection of rifles there! Sold a few guns in the last few weeks, got the bug for a custom…. Still need to get one more sold. Either the Brno 304 or my last Ruger no1 RSI….. we’ll see! 😊
Would have chosen pretty much the same. What's weird is I know which of your rifles I'd roll with and have favorites of yours. Now that's strange. I thinking had you not put the model 71 in the lineup some fans might have tossed your carcass into the Yukon River. I know you get a lot of flack and scorn when it gets left out or ignored. Now that you got that out of the way. You need to do a video on the 5 best overall items. Forbes 30-06, Ski doo doo 4stroke sled, that awesome plastic pull sled, and maybe the arctic oven? That's what I'm guessing.
Hello I love your videos on the 375 I’ve been working on one myself for a deer rifle and I think you my like my setup just thought id share with you. I’ve got a top eject 94 in 375 win with a side mount pic rail and a primary arms 3x micro prism sight
Health is most important. Wish you well with that👍 One of my favorite channels. I learn a ton. Was wondering what your thoughts are in a 308 or 6.5 creedmoor 300 yard deer rifle with an 18 inch barrel. Which caliber would you recommend?
@@north61 thank you for taking the time to answer. I think I'll go that route. Once again, I hope you recover quickly, and thank you again for the advice.
Have you ever thought of putting a break on that winchester model 70 in 458 winchester? P.s. with no offense that 6.5 CM should be more accurate and less than the 30-06 bullet drop over 600 yards.
wilsoncombat.com/long-guns/nula-bolt-action-rifles.html?page_id=16 let us know how you make out. Looks like Melvin has retired but if you can find him I bet he has parts.
@@north61 I sent an email to them. Hopefully it helps. Thanks! I did talk to somebody awhile back. Thought it was Wilson's new outfit; can't remember the exact name, got it off 24hrcampfire. Guy said he'd have to custom make me a new one, just send in my bolt. 🤷♂️
Glad to see the 348 on the list. Majority of hunters has never heard of it and definitely would never accept the challenge of open sights.
It's a no brainer when you actually get to use one.

...for someone who is sick, you sure do light up when talking about your favorites... Thanks for sharing...
Greg- home you feel better fast with a full recovery. Nice rifles…
9.3x62 one of my personal favorite rifle calibers and Model 71 Winchester .348 is another. I got it on Christmas....COVID. Hope you feel better SOON.
Get well soon . I had the bug 🐛 last year. Good luck on the spring time hunts ahead . Hard to beat the 3006

Get well soon! Thanks for the excellent video!
Get well! You’ll be back out there soon.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. My choice’s of your collection would be the 30-06 and the 93x62 covers all NA game in my opinion only.
I love my model 71…wish ammo was easier to find
Sorry you’re missing your hunt and best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Was wondering what your thoughts are in a 308 or 6.5 creedmoor 300 yard deer rifle with an 18 inch barrel. Which caliber would you recommend?
With a barrel that short I'd likely go .308. You lose less velocity in 308 and at 300 yards it's a very good choice.
@@north61 thank you for taking the time to answer. I think I'll go that route.

Hope you recover quickly. Take your vitamin D. Enjoyed the top five feature, of course your order was all wrong, but that’s what opinions are for. 😁
Give me a few weeks and I'll change my mind again!
Bummer on having Covid. Hope it’s an easy course of illness. I’ve had it twice.
@@Idahoguy10157 Wasn't too bad! We even got a bison on Wednesday!

Hey Greg!
I broke the extractor on my Forbes 24B. Would you happen to know where I could get another one? Thanks!

Not a bad top 5. That poor .405 Win gets no love. lol Get well soon.
The 405 was hard to leave out, but as you know I change my mind often!
Get well soon!
