    Wonderful instructions. I am a visual learner. When I read instructions I tend to over think and become frustrated. You really make this great! Thanks so much!

    I am learning so much about how to approach a pattern rather than blindly following the instructions. You’re helping me to become truly creative! ❤❤❤

    Thank you, Karen. Special thanks for explaining the process for making the 8" Lincoln's Platform.

    On my #15 block, I decided to make life easier, so I drafted it as a 9" on EQ and then printed it as an 8" paper piecing pattern. I love the way it came out.

    Oh wow. This could be such an adventure for me. I must finish up what I am working on now because I do not need another UFO. I can schedule my start about a month later. I love your fabrics and your instructions. Thanks.

    Karen, thank you so much for showing the options for these blocks.. its a great way to look at pictured blocks and dissect them, then adapt to what makes more sense to do depending on skill level and comfortability. If my book doesnt arrive in the next couple of weeks, i will substitute with another book which has 120 civil war blocks and find what is the closest match if i can not do it based off your video. Looking forward to doing this quilt. 😀

    Your channel showed up on my feed. So glad it did. I’ve been learning to quilt on my own through RUclips. I love how you show and explain how these blocks are assembled. I need instructions but I’m a visual learner. I love how you show the math to these blocks. I am really considering doing the blocks for the whole quilt just because of the way you are teaching them. I know it’s going to be a beautiful quilt. Need a book and fabrics. Funny thing is I have been wanting to work with these darken colors/fabrics since they are not what I gravitate to. So it’s perfect. Thank you the encyclopedia book can you tell me how or why you would use it?

    I’m so lucky you showed up on my reel. Firstly, you have a BEAUTIFUL voice. Secondly your instructions are clear. I have this book and have been wanting to make this sampler for a long time as I love the history of the Civil War. I do not have reproduction fabrics, but the local quilt guild will have their annual yard sale in April and rest assured I will be looking for fabrics. For now I’m just watching and enjoying your instructions and voice. Thank you.

    I'm so excited about this QAL! Where do I find the breakdown sheets on the cutting instructions you mentioned in your introduction video?

    • @KarenMontgomeryTQC
      @KarenMontgomeryTQC  10 месяцев назад

      They are in the book by Barbra Blackman, “Civil War Sampler”.

      @KarenMontgomeryTQC ok I already have the book. I thought you said you were doing a separate worksheet. Thanks for the clarification.

      Karen, I just got my new book, and the printout is not there. I only have the templates in the back of the book

      @@vickiemartinsen8600 The layout options are not in the book. I prepared them for the group and they are available in the files on the Nine Patch A Day Facebook page. That is a private group on Facebook that you ask to join. Then answer the question "Where do you live".
