GETTING STARTED with the CIVIL WAR SEW-ALONG
Thank you Karen for all you tips and tricks, they have been a great help!
Thank you so much, for teaching us.
Omgoodness!!! Yes!! A mini project- gets my vote!!
I had thought about that.
Thank you! Thank you! You should write your own book. You are so creative!
Thank you for all your work you put into doing this for us! It has been a wonderful learning experience!
I love the soap trick. Thanks for the QAYG explanation for borders. Great idea for adding borders for any project you've discovered isn't quite big enough.
Thank you so much for carefully explaining this method! I really appreciate the detailed tutorial!💕
Thank u Karen for all the extra work u do for us!!
Are you using the Rowenta perfect steam iron?
The iron in the video is the Rowenta Compact Steam Pro.
saving this video to refer back to. super simple way to add a border to a quilt at the last minute just by just sandwiching in and butting up some batting. for someone like me who 'wings it' with my quilts, this is a great way to make one a bit bigger when it turns out smaller than i want.
I love that thank you for sharing. Great technique to know!!
Thank you. I'm planning on starting the quilt this month. The tips are really helpful.
Thank you for all of your hard work on this Civil War Sampler project. It has been a joy to watch your well thought out videos.
Thanks for all you do
Thank you for all the planning and work you did for this project.
Happy New Year! Glad I checked your channel before I went to bed. I decided to do a square layout and have started to prep my fabrics. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you for all your hard work. I have learned so much making the civil war quilt. Although not perfect I going to love it.
Thank you, Karen. I find the videos very helpful. I appreciate your efforts and your explanations. Happy Holidays (I’m catching up the day after Christmas, finally time to sew for me!)
Thank you! These videos have been incredibly helpful.
Thank you for all the great tips and instructions.
This is the greatest experience ever for learning blocks, and knowing that you are really clear on how to improve our skills. Besides love the civil war and reproduction fabrics. Just WOW! And thank you.
Thank u so much for all these videos, I wouldn’t have been able to make these blocks from just the measurements in the book!!
I have learned so much watching these videos. I started this project late, in June and am only November behind, catching up and so grateful for your tips and tricks. I can’t wait to watch the video on the sashings and setting triangles. We are nearly there and I can hardly wait to have this special quilt finished. It will be on the 3rd quilt I have made! Thank you so very much for all the time you have taken to do the tutorials! Merry Christmas
The tips are excellent. Thank you so much.
I need to go back and binge watch this series!
Your videos are very helpful. I wouldn't have sewn this quilt without your video. Thank you for all the time you have invested in showing us.
Your videos are ALWAYS very worth while! Thank you!
Karen we really appreciate you walking us through these blocks. You make them so much easier ❤❤

Thank you. Very helpful.
Thank you Karen! Your videos are very helpful in constructing these block and understanding the book. I love all the alternate block ideas and the fabric options. 😊
thank you so much for all your tips. Happy holidays :0
I have enjoyed your video. I'm behind and making 2 set of quilt at same time. After holidays hope to start catching up. Again that you for your time to help us .
Loving the Civil War sew along.
Thanks Karen for all you
Thank you, Karen! Your tips are so helpful! I wish you a very happy Christmas!🎄
Karen, your tips and tricks are VERY helpful, and I am extremely grateful that you took this task on for us!!!! ❤ Thank you so much.
your help is great thank you for all you do
Helpful, helpful, helpful!!!!! Thank you, Karen for your tips, and modifications in all of these videos. Last February if someone would have told me I was going to make all 50 blocks in this book over the next 12 months I would have asked them what hallucinogenic they were taking. But at the time I didn’t know I would have Karen Montgomery guiding me through every block. Your videos were and are a huge help - especially for us 8-1/2 inch block people. Thank you, Sue
Awesome! No way I could have made this quilt without your help. Hate I couldn't meet you at Busy Lady Quilt shop in Kentucky .I had already scheduled something else.😊
Thank you Karen, very helpful!!!!
I have learned so much watching your approach to the blocks in this book! I’m not making this project, but I have really enjoyed watching how you break down the components of a block and make them work for you! Great series. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
These videos really help figure out how to do them and make me a better quilter. Thank you for all you do for all of us. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season.
Thank you! Thank you! You are so faithful! I somehow fell behind but plan to catch up and finish. I love the blocks I finished.
I agree that this would have been an unfinished project without your videos and tips. Thank you ❤
The tips are wonderful and simplify the making of the blocks. I have also used the same ideas to resize blocks for other quilts that I am working on and would look better with 8 inch blocks, but the pattern was for 12 inch. Thank you, Karen.
I like the use of uneven 9 patches to get the same look. 😊
