I was there last Friday. This is an ODD elevator, installed in 1995 (originally). Never seen anything like this. Elevator was locked off due to social distancing tho
I can confirm that this elevator was installed in the late 90s. I don't remember exactly what year. There was a spiral ramp at this location from 1977 until the mall remodel in the late 90s.
It's an Otis elevator btw. North and South escalators are Schindler. Escalators by Sears and Macy's are Otis. I know this for a fact I've worked in the mall maintenance Dept for 8 years.
I think it’s only a Schindler, because this mall and nearby Oxford valley mall both originally had spiral ramps wear the elevators were. I know that Oxford Valleys is a Schindler, so my guess is this is also a Schindler. Both of the malls were owned by Kravco, now Simon.

The mall remodel was in 1994, the elevator was put in then.

Schindler's have call recognition too
It didn't used to, though.
It's not a Simon mall anymore. It was sold to JLL in 2021.
that elevator is kinda small size wise for it having a 3500 LBS capacity don't you think?
Not really.
The door close button has never worked in this elevator
Well DUH it's a Schindler!
I see Otis modernize sticker on glass so my guess is this Montgomery mall built in 1999 if it was then yeah the escalators are Otis as well
