    I've recently ridden this for the first time, and can assure you the gate has been fixed.

      Oh yeah I know. I went back last year and it was fine

      @@ECFE Might've just been a sensor glitch which is no biggie. Actually, not only is it good that it doesn't close slowly anymore, I think it's also good that the gate doesn't bang anymore when opening either.

    • @ECFE
      @ECFE  Год назад

      I disagree. It's already too slow as it is lol

      @@ECFE Well here's the other thing: Would it kill them to actually wire the DC button? I'd imagine when it was original it probably had the "Constant Pressure Close" feature, but who knows, the annoying bit could've been there at the time and it would've made more sense as it would indicate Nudge Mode.

      Since it passes inspection they won't do any modifications to it unless it needs something. When this had GAL, yes this had the "Constant Pressure Close," that strobe light and speaker were added on, I have no idea why Amtech opted for them in 2001 but whatever. It bewilders me still lol

    I'm thinking this was probably an Otis.

    • @ECFE
      @ECFE  Год назад

      It definitely was. OTIS liked using GAL on freights, plus A&S used OTIS in they're locations around the time this one was built

    Epic motor

      Indeed

  • @LiftsAndElevatorsOfScandinavia

    This lift still runs OK and they finally got rid of that voice but it would've been better if the door close button finally worked. The bell that was on the 1st floor was definitely unneccesary

      Extremely unnecessary. No idea why they would pay for someone to install it lol

      Either Westy or OTIS but I'm leaning more towards OTIS

      @@ECFE This was the sister to the former Abraham & Strauss stores at Short Hills and Willow Grove. Short Hills originally had an Otis (passenger), until it was modded by Schindler. However, the Willow Grove location had a Westinghouse, at least when it was Strawbridge's, because I remember that store when it was Strawbridge's (the Willow Grove location). Hence, this may have originally been a Westinghouse, unless the Westinghouse at the Willow Grove location was installed by Strawbridge's in 1988 when they moved in, which would make it one of the last Westinghouses ever installed. We may never know for sure, unless we see Pennsylvania elevator records.

      I'm sick and tired of you and your pointless comments and replies on ancient threads, but this one I have to answer:
      Installations at other stores mean nothing. If that were the case, all installs across the board would be the same. Especially since by that time Westy was phasing out their Epco stock and using Adams primarily. And Westy was bought by Schindler in 89/90, not 88. And there is no record of this elevator's installer. It was modernized by Amtech however

      @@Ih8kone It's fine, I was pissed about something that day, I shouldn't have answered your comment then. And are you positive Willow Grove was a sister to this? I know Short Hills was. I'm asking because this one and Short Hills was a "prototype" design and nothing ever said Willow Grove was the same
