They’re not dead! People just mad you can’t make money like you did before. What happened to just buying a shoe you loved and not what it does on stockx or goat??? People are worried about resell market or what the hype is the love for shoes are gone for the hype beast . Real shoe lovers will respect the shoe no matter what!
It's pretty simple. Who can afford $140-$180 for new jordan 1 colorway as well as spend $210-god knows what on the next AJ4 colorway. You can't release this many different sneakers at those prices and expect them to sell. I mean I bet there are a bunch of homeless people out there that have a fire sneaker collection who chose that collection over the rent.
I think Jordan needs to use the OG Nike Air branding not the Jordan silhouette logo and use premium leather materials if they want $180 - $220 for AJ1-AJ4s retail releases.
It's not the fall of Jordan 1s. It's the reality of Jordan 1s. Jordan 1s were and always will be a plan C. The default choice, if nothing else is available in the colorway you're looking for. Jordan 1s were hyped and had a price point that was easy to manipulate for monetization if all resellers bought enough to decrease supply.
This is the best time for the real sneaker heads that love Jordan 1. You can get what ever you want but also doeent mean we can buy every single color way.
Wouldn’t be first time 4s Sat , in early January 2020 I bought 2 pair black cats for $155 a pair 2 WT4s at 165 a pair and 2 Winterized 4s at 155 a pair.

I think putting out bad color ways has hurt the Jordan 1. For a while we had a run of bad color ways. Like the brotherhoods, heritage, stealths, visionaire, rebellionaire, Marina blue, pollen, light fusion red, etc. Jordan brand just keep it simple.
I don't think they're dead, just reselling on new colorways is dead. As far as colorways, everyone has different styles and tastes. I think they should do all the og 1s like they did the l&f. The royals would've been liked more.

IMO it has nothing to do with the election yr, in 2020 is when the 1s started to take off (along w every other shoe) everyone was getting free money, un employment, etc so I think everyone had money to buy every single shoe and also the demand was so high so people say that as an oppertunity to resell when they had no job so they saw that as extra $$. I don’t think it’s just the J1. Unless it’s some overhyped collab or something rare… the entire Nike sneaker market has been tanking. And Nike/Jordan brand has done this to themselves, and I don’t feel sorry for them. We’re tired of the high prices, crappy quality and materials, can’t get what we want because we’re forced to compete with bots/resellers… and most of there shoes just aren’t comfortable. Also…competitors like New Balance, ASICS, OnCloud, Saucony, Brooks, etc are just plain and simply doing it better. Better materials, better quality, better prices… AND THEY’RE CRAZY COMFORTABLE! Nike it’s killing itself with cheap, overpriced, junk. RIP, Nike!

Over the past year I’ve seen MULTIPLE silhouettes (1s- 13s) sit. Surprisingly, I think It’s the era of the 10s and 14s💯 due to them not having as many colorways as the others silhouettes. 10s will also sale. But all in all, the amount of releases AND the stock numbers of the releases are causing it to look as Jordan brand declining. But JB is smart. They’re now making more pairs due to them being able to rerelease shoes and double dip on profit years later or play with resale market years later, prime example is the storm blue ones that everyone refer to while proving this point. They’re producing now to prepare for later. Shoes only sell out now when it’s low stock numbers. They’re just manipulating the market right now to catch algorithm for the future markets. Jordan brand will die one day though. Just not today.

People are smart already in getting their shoes not on GR.. THey can get it on other sites UNDER RETAIL. A CERTAIN WORD FOR IT IS PRICE SKIMMING. Where you just need to wait for a shoes to go on sale before you buy it.. for shoes ALWAYS GOES IN ROTATION..Where new shoes will come in again.. old the ones need to be sold for a cheaper price. THE PRICE INCREASE AND INFLATION.. Makes sense.. shoes is not a TOP PRIORITY ANYMORE FOR SOME SNEAKERHEADS. When you get old on something you'll be over it for good.
