That just goes to show, that the Arts doesn't end with just oil paintings... fabulous works of art.

I have to wonder if there ever was a person who received a Faberge who said, "Not really my style and put it in the regift closet.

I cant find “72 karat” gold anywhere. Is that really a thing?

Hell no! Lol. 24 karat is pure meaning 24 parts of 24 parts gold. No such thing as 72k

This flower one was featured on the Antiques Roadshow tv show

They are not the same. The one featured on Antiques Roadshow was a superior floral study in the form of Pear blossoms. On its rock crystal vase was written “Q.O.W.H South Africa 1900”. It had been commissioned by Rachel, Countess of Dudley who presented it to The Queen’s Own Worcestershire Hussars (QOWH) in the early 1900s as a regimental trophy after their service in the Boer war. The Countess’ husband was the regiment’s commanding officer, and that Faberge piece is still owned by the regiment.

Unbelievable! I thought the vase was crystal, not a precious stone…….

I, and the ENTIRE world understand that if 24K Gold is PURE GOLD, meaning NOT mixed with anything, than, 72K Gold doesn't exist. You can't have anything more pure than 24K Gold. PERIOD! It's an idiotic thing to say! 72K Gold does not exist!!

She misspoke. Instead of 750 (18k) she she said 78 karat. It must have been her nerves.
