This is the essence of modern prog/tech metal for me. Inventive, innovative, surprising, and hooky. I don't generally even like bands like Unprocessed, but this is one of the coolest modern metal tracks I've ever heard. His voice is lilting & angelic, the lyrics are dark and melancholy, the drums actually sound like drums (points for not overcompressing them into an occasional tap noise in the middle of a downtuned wall of noise)... all in all, as just an enthusiastic metal listener, I think this is a Sleep Token killer. And that ascending melody when the guitars kicked back in... incredible... Anything in modern metal that surprises me in a positive way automatically goes on the playlist, and this one was crazy good.
This song is a masterpiece it's been on repeat for me since it came out! I love how the blend all three sections of this song together so perfectly and the strings added in as well. So good! Honestly in my Top 10 Songs I've heard this year \m/
That. Was. Dope. It's legitimately one of the best songs of 2024. I was a bit shocked at first listen. But then, after 3-5-10 I now can say this is also one of their best. Solid, unusual, goosebumps filled, dope banger😏
That. Was. Sick. A song "feeling earned" is simultaneously the most pretentious, and the most meaningless comment I've seen on a youtube comment this morning. The day is young tho... The drum mix actually sounded like drums- not punctuated, overcompressed taps thrown in as a tinny metronome awash in staticky guitar noise. A rare event in a lot of modern metal. I don't even like Unprocessed, and this is already easily one of the coolest prog metal songs of the past decade. Who Token?
“Like a thuddy big Miley Cyrus” is the first time those words have been arranged in that order by any human ever, well done Steve🙌🏻
Haha! Why, thank you.

OK, after listening a bit more and reading the lyrics, I do enjoy it!
This is what a masterpiece sounds like!
I liked the last part of the song! Maybe it will be a grower?
I personally really enjoy the thuddy and almost electronic snare
Fair enough! It’s absolutely a subjective thing.
Urne - Becoming the Ocean
Reminds me of Bunny Suit by Darko. Heavy first half, slower second half with a lot of synths and cleans.
Everyone is sleeping on this band. They are getting nowhere near the attention they deserve. Thanks for doing this feature!
So much talent for so much noise ...
love the song but agree with you re the snare sound!
That. Was. Bad. None of it felt earned, instead just an exercise in excess.
And you're right, the drum production seemed disconnected from the rest.

The only disconnected thing here is you
@@DeletiriumYeah but the kick and snare could have had a little more punch and been a little louder in the mix
