This tutorial is SOOO easy to follow. It was clear enough to see what you were sewing and explained everything perfectly! Seriously.. excellent work!
I'm so glad!!!! I don't have the best lighting or cameras in my room but I'm trying to show my process as best I can - especially the parts that are less documented in other tutorials. I try to make it the way I would have wanted someone to show me XD
Freckled Cat Creations Exactly why I like your tutorials. You always explain things that not many other tutorials explain. Thanks again for your work!
@@Wo1fymoon youre so very welcome!
I- I got a little too excited when I realized we have the same exact sewing machine. I didn't even know that thing on the side could pull out when adjusting the grippy things sfgsjkdfgbsdjfghsf
Haha omg! Yeah, I only found that out when I read the manual! And I think most makers like using a Singer Heavy Duty for fursuits - so if youve got that one too, you're all set :3
@@freckledcatcreations now all 3 of us have them!
Seriously an underrated channel...
I appreciate that!!! It's hard to get noticed!!! XD I'm trying hard!
@@freckledcatcreations is there any way for us viewers to help?
@@ajnel7236 hmmmm, maybe if people shared a link to the vids on a social media post about it? That could help! Thank you for offering, that's generous!!💓
amazing tutorial! could you possibly do a tutorial on how to machine sew pawpads onto paws? i seem to really struggle with this :(
Thanks so much! I absolutely can do that for you! I'll make sure to go into detail as much as I can :3
@@freckledcatcreations thank you so much! i'm sure many more people will be able to use that tutorial too :)
@@Wynorra absolutely, you're right! :3 and I'm always excited to create those tutorial resources for makers in need!
I was asked by my commissioner to make a pair of armsleeves but I had no idea where to start, then I remember you had a tutoral for it. I looked at a couple other tutorials, but yours definitely seemed the most detailed and high quality. My armsleeves turned out wonderfully thanks to you! Thank you for the help, your tutorials are truly wonderful!
I'm so happy you liked mine!! I really tried to include every aspect of making the arms, i dont think ive seen other tutorials go into how to line them.
@@freckledcatcreations hello! I have a quick question, how would you make the arm sleeves had different patterns on each side? Such as brown on the whole top and white on the whole bottom, would it still work out?
@@Evie_Kowalski yea it would easily still work out! You just draw what patterns you want on the paper pattern. Then sew them together. Easy as that.
this tutorial was awesome! helped me make my first pair of arm sleeves and now im
not so scared of using the sewing machine!
Glad I could help!
That one dislike is someone who got so into the video that they tried to like without looking but missed
Amazing tutorial x3!! I always thought arm sleeves were just the raw backing on the inside and as a person with skin sensitivity issues that would actually curb stomp me so this is great, btw I was wondering what the elastic that goes across the back does though? Once again great tutorial!!!
THank you so much!! I actually think most people DONT line their armsleeves - which is why I thought that a tutorial on how to line them would be needed! Since the couple of tuts out there only show how to make the fur part.
You put the elastic connecting them because if not, then the arms would slip down your arms all the time! Another way to keep them up would be putting elastic in the top cuff of the sleeves... but then that would be squeezing your upper arm, and possibly cutting off circulation. The elastic strap is a safer way to keep em up!
Dude this was epic, high key
Thank you so much for this! I will be using this for a commission as I've never made arm sleeves before. Your channel is so informative!
You are so welcome!
Awesome tutorial! I learned so much!
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you for the wonderful tutorial! I'm interested in making my own fursuit, but I think it would be good to know how to make individual parts like the legs and arms

I just came across your videos, you're so underrated!!
Your tutorials are clear and informative and so helpful, thank you for uploading them!!
I'm so happy you like them ahh!!!! I'm doin my best X3 I really wanna make sure new makers have all the free info they need to make this stuff!!
4:55 I am actually glad you explained that I was assuming the worst. Ok but jokes aside this is really really helpful, thank you for this!! :D
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO
What takes most people two minutes sewing on machine takes me about an hour hand sewing :'( I wish i knew how they worked lmao. My stepmums machine hates fur for some reason so its not an option for me ;;;;;) Very good and helpful tutorial btw, nice work ^^
Oh no, that sucks! The one I'm using is a singer heavy duty which most makers use, and it's only like $150 nowadays, so if you have the funds sometime you could buy it! If not, no problem, I've even seen a whole bodysuit hand stitched and not fall apart. (I was extremely impressed by the maker hahhaa)
@@freckledcatcreations Thanks, i'll try to save up for one or similar ^^ Yeah i have no problem with it, just the fact that it takes sooo long haha
i dont have the materials to make armsleeves, but this was really fun to watch! also ur cat is very cute :3
Glad you enjoyed!!!!
What type of fabric do you use for lining? I'm making a partial for Anthrocon 2021. If you're going see you there!
I use lycra/spandex from SpandexWorld! any sport fabric that wicks away moisture is great! andYOOOOO awesome!!! :D

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here! But I’m trying to make a fursuit and this has helped quite a bit :D great tutorial!!
Glad I could help!!!
Thank you for this awesome tutorial!! I just finished my pair of lined armsleeves today and they turned out amazing! :D
I'm so happy it helped!!!!
This is a really helpful tutorial! I'm definitely going to use this in the future. One question, what type of sewing machine do you use and what sewing machine needle do you use?
My machine is a Singer Heavy Duty 4432, and you should use ballpoint needles for fur! ballpoint needles have a slightly rounded tip that helps the needle pass through between the fibers of woven fabrics like faux fur, and the needle doesn't pierce through the actual threads.
@@freckledcatcreations Oh that's cool. I do own a Singer sewing machine too but i don't know if its a heavy Duty one. I've had it for years and I've never used it. I do also have ballpoint needles. I bought some around a year ago and never used them. Now they will have a purpose :)
I love hairless cats 😭🥺
Thank you so much for this video! I've just made some of my own as my first sewing project and it was really easy to follow.
Glad it was helpful!!!! I noticed there were NO lined sleeve tutorials so I definitely am glad i made this one.
these are very pretty ❤️ could you possibly maybe do a tut on a fursuit partial long sleeve shirt thing?
Ooh, like the top half of a halfsuit? Those are so rare! I'd love to, it's hard to take time to do side projects outside of commission work. I hope someone comms me for one someday and if so I'll definitely make a video! For now you can refer to the Butternut series and just pay attention to the top half of the bodysuit!
this actually helped a lot, thank you
I'm so glad it helped!!!! Youre welcome!!
hey! so, im planning on making a full digi-grade suit in the near future, and i’d like to make the padding secured in the suit. so, if i used the same concept as this, could i hypothetically line an entire fursuit and anchor the padding somehow? on another note, i love your channel and you do amazing work :)
Edit: on second thought, i’ll leave the padding separate for easy washing so, never mind lol! still love your videos though they’ve educated me a LOT ❤️
good idea, I'm planning on leaving padding separate for easier washing/drying too! but i'm so happy you love my stuff, i aim for it to be as helpful as possible!!!
Would leg sleeves have the same process but different measurements?
Edit: I made these and they turned out perfectly!! Thank you for this amazing tutorial.
omg sorry i didnt see it in time!!! how did you keep the leg sleeves up btw? i thought maybe youd need to sew them to some spandex undershorts, did you do that or do they just stay up with no elastic or?
@@freckledcatcreations I sewed elastic where the binding strip would be so that you can get in the leg sleeves but they tighten when you wear them
@@ForestFolf Oh creative! i see, thank you!

@@freckledcatcreations Cute! He looks just like my cat!
I love this video sm!! Question: Do arm sleeves *have* to have the back strap and u can't just slip them on? Or would they not hold up/fit on the arm all tnat good like say a sock?
Aw man, awesome tutorial, you are such a big inspiration for us smaller creators, keep up the great work!❤️
Thank you so much that's REALLY flattering!!!! I cant believe im inspiring omg
@@freckledcatcreations np!😁
What kind of fabric did you use for the lineing?
its spandex from spandexworld.com !
awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
Ok idk why but I freaked out seeing you have a hairless cat! I love hairless cats sm! ( Unless it's just short haired, I don't have my glasses on lol)
Aw thanks!! Yeah he's a sphynx!! :D
I wrote a whole paragraph about why hairless cats even existing is animal abuse but it got deleted and I won't try that again. Please look it up and both of you never get another hairless cat, breeding them should honestly be illegal.
@@lisas8614 I'm pretty sure they exist for people with allergies. But I'll take a look into it.
@@kiwikumi Well thank you. And sure they're great for allergies but that doesn't mean it's okay. How about I make you a skinless human because the cat people have human skin allergies. The only reason I'm trying to stay nice is that you said you'll look into it. Seriously that thinking is ridiculous. I'm sure the slaves in America were also for white peoples comfort. But that doesn't mean making black people slaves wasn't abuse or ethical.
Hairless cats come with abuse and are unethical, just like slaves.
If you have an allergy either live with it or don't have a cat.
I mean how did that makes sense in your head? I have a grass allergy but guess what I just have to deal with grass being around me.
@@lisas8614 ok once again I'll look into it. I don't know what you mean by " how did that make sense in your head" because from what I know they where bred for allergies and that's all that I know. I'm not a cat person I just like spynx so I don't know much about them but I'm willing to go expand my knowledge about it
Excellent video; thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great tutorial! What do you use as lining?
I use spandex! I get it from spandexbyyard, blue moon fabrics, spandexworld, or custom print it with spoonflower!
This video is on the older side so no worries if you don't see this/don't know but i was wondering if you had the pattern you used for the five fingered paw, or had one you could suggest? I've been looking for one that looks nice but most of the ones i've been able to find look a little wonky
hi good job
This is a really good video❤ it helps with my slow brain to understand, lol 😅. But what lining did you use for the arms?
I use spandex/lycra! I get mine from spandexworld !
you really need to make sure you put extra inches to allow for the elbow. i cut my fur and realized it was way too small to allow my elbow to bend.
I haven't had that issue happen to me yet, but thank you for telling me! I didn't know that happens to some people!
THANK YOU YOU ARE ON EMY FAVORITE FURRY RUclipsRS IV EBEEN WATCHING YOU SINCE LAST YEAR BUT THEM I STOPPED BUT NOE I AM AGAIN!!!! :)
Thank you for the tutorial
Youre welcome!!
This video is really helpful! Just one question, do we need to add seam allowance for the arms? and if so, how much would you reccomend?
Yes, if you see in the video i do leave seam allowance, its the space between the pattern and the line! you can choose however much seam allowance you want! I do 3/8 of an inch, but some people do 1/2 inch... 5/8 inch...etc
This is literally exactly what I needed to do an experiment with a willing client!! I'm just curious, is it possible for me to modify this pattern to match a paw pattern and combine them, so the paws are attached to the sleeves?
Yes of course!! I'm going to be doing that soon too! basically just attach the hand pattern onto the wrist here, and make the whole lining shaped like that combined pattern. sew the lining up, tack the lining onto the fingers like most paw tutorials show you, then when you turn everything right side out, cuff the top of the arm as usual. should work nicely.
@@freckledcatcreations Awesome, thank you so much!! Your tutorials are super helpful 💞
@@amandapsenak7295 i'm so happy they are, my main goal is to fill in the gaps of fursuit knowledge on youtube! trying to help out the new makers and such!
I dont mean to be rude or pressure you, but is there any chance you could cover making masks with duck bills? I want to make a suit for my duck fursona but I havent found any help videos or directions online for making duck heads..
I don't have a duck commissioner yet, so it might be a while until I can find time to make a tutorial! But I'll put it on the list!
You’re like a perfect mix of handsome and beautiful at the same time (weird compliment sorry lmao)
i can’t find the right word 😭
AWWW OMG THANK YOU!!!! Me looking androgynous are some of the best compliments tbh
Hewwo! Can you make a totourial on how to make padless hand paws maybe? I'm planning on making a bunny fursuit:3
omg GOOD ON YOU FOR HAVING PADLESS BUNNY HANDS!!!!!!
I’m debating on weather or not to line my arm sleeves. Will the fur get gross faster if I don’t? Is there another way to keep it nice? I just started making a fursuit and your tutorials have been super helpful!!
So happy theyve been helpful! I would think that having your sweat get directly on the backing of the fur and all the rubbing your arms would do against the fabric would get it grosser faster, yeah. Another way to keep it nice would be to wear a long sleeved Underarmor shirt under the arms! If you're wearing underarmor beneath your suit, there's no need to have it lined :3
18:10
sorry for not understanding this but what is that for? is it for when washing it you're supposed to attach these?
no, the main uses are like if youre not sure you cut the elastic perfectly to your back and it's loose, the velcro will let you adjust the fit better. also, some people may be worried about the long elastic getting tangled up/caught in the washer, so if you separate the two arms from each other they'll get tangled up less.
This video was very useful, thank you very much!
And also, I have a question: for the elastic, once it is sewn on the sleeves, should we put it on our back or on our chest?
Thank you ! OwO
Thank you so much!! I think people usually have it go behind their back, so that when they lean down, the arms don't slide off :3
@@freckledcatcreations Ok, thank you very much for your reply ! :D
how much fur should i have for this?
What are those pins you use called because I wanna buy some
Btw it was the ones you used for the fur to hold it together
they're called sewing clips, or wonder clips! you can search that in google and find a lot of results!
@@freckledcatcreations thank you sm
What kind of sewing machine do you use? I’ve been saving up birthday money for about two, birthdays now and I have $200 to spend
oh thats perfect! the one i have is a Singer Heavy Duty 4432 and it's like $150 nowadays. any of the Heavy Dutys will do, the number after it only means how many fancy extra stitches it has.
Nice-!! Xd
Do you do commissions?
I sure do! Check out my website for prices and quote forms, and I also have a link to my queue (it's a Trello list) if you wanna see how long the wait list is!
Ahh I just found this- how would this work if i want lined sleeves for a full fursuit? Should I have a little bit of shoulders to cover the top of the sleeves?
Oh, if you want lined sleeves for a fullsuit, the arms should just be a part of the bodysuit pattern, not separate items. But yeah, the shoulders should be patterned in! I can't tell you how since I haven't done that yet .
As for lining the arms of a fullsuit, I haven't done that yet, but I think some hand sewing might be needed. sew it to the seam allowance at the top of the arm or something.
Thank u
Do people have to pay extra for that elastic strap? if so then i would pay for one since i'm hyper when moving and i don't want one of my arms slipping off. XD
the elastic strap isn't extra, its always included! it helps the arms stay up!
I'm really late, but I was wondering if you could machine wash these?
No problem!! They should be totally machine washable!
Thank you for the advice!
So first off, you have the dame dragon candle wax melter as me, and second off, i am about to make armsleeves, and I want to have them be able to be connected and removed from the body piece. Is velcro or zippers the better option? (Btw im making the torso part removable from the legs and arms becuase i want to be able to wear a full suit, but also take the chest off if I get too hot, or just don't feel like wearing that specific peice)
Edit: I just realized I was the 666 like
Same lol
Ooh, I have never done anything like that so I can't advise you much!! I feel like velcro would be easier to put in and doesnt take as much sewing knowledge. both ways would be strong. I spose it's your decision on which you think you can do? I have no idea how I would do it though....
@@freckledcatcreations thank you for the help! I knew this would be a hard topic since I dont think many people have done it, if any. I do agree that the velcro would be easier to manage though
how would this work for paws? =)
hoping to do a lined paw tutorial soon! but if you watch my Lemur Hands video, the way I line those is EXACTLY how i line paws.
How big should seam allowance be?
It's up to personal preference! For hand sewing I like to use 1/2cm or so, super small. For sewing with your machine, commonly commercial patterns are intended to have 5/8" seam allowance. I do that with my kigus. Usually today for my fursuits I give them 3/8" seam allowance outside the pattern edge. (If youline up the edge of the fur with the edge of your presser foot, that is always 3/8" btw!)
@@freckledcatcreations
Thank you!
hey, um, what is the function of the elastic? ( haha im not smort- )
so that it can stretch when you need it to! and it keeps the arms pulled up and they wont slip off
@@freckledcatcreations Thanks so much!!
What is the name of that patterned fabric you used for the inside?
it's "aztec multi print" or something from the SpandexWorld website. it may or may not still be in stock!
Oof i don't have a sewing machine i have to hand sew it all :(
oof !!! it definitely can be done though ! make sure you're using either a blanket stitch or a back stitch, those are two of the strongest hand sewing stitches.
Is it fine to make these without paws?
Of course! You can just wear armsleeves by themselves i guess. your human hands will poke out the ends though.
Do arm sleeves have to be lined?
They don't! I think most makers don't line theirs, actually. but IF you have a commissioner who wants theirs lined, this tutorial will help you!
2:55 THE KITTY HAS A TINY SWEATER

Nah you can get away with hand sewing these too! Just make sure you're doing it tight since armsleeves get a lot of stress put on them and you dont want them to break!
Took me long enough to read the signs….anyways. It’s 4 years! I hope ur still answering questions….could one also use a dtd on their arm? Like just the arm for this?
Also. One could also…handsew this too, right?
I still love answering questions! You should totally be able to do a dtd for your armsleeves since it works for making fullsuit arms! And you can totally hand sew this. Just make sure your stitches are close enough together and tight and sturdy!
