I made my first fursuit as a rockstar foxy head, feet, and parrot. I didn't know it was a fursuit so I just winged it. It was bad, very very bad. I made every mistake in the book. It was cardboard, was not measured well so I had to look threw the snout, it had horrible ventilation, and the DIY moving i made looked like trash. Now I know the horrible wrongs I have made and am using your amazing tutorials to improve, thank you for existing.

I want to make a fursuit head, but I don't have enough room, or the materials. What should I do? I decided to come to you for answers when I saw you uploaded.. Sorry! 😅
as for making room, only thing i can think of is organize your room some so that you have more free space! and walmart has $40 long plastic tables you can buy to work on. materials: if you save up about $200 from chores or birthday etc, you can make a simple mini partial!
I’m not the person who made this video but actually I spent only about $100 making my first partial- you can get a nice roll of 1 inch foam for about 20 on Amazon!! The most expensive part is the fur. As for making room honestly I just gave up on having a clean room once I started making fursuits. There’s always gonna be scraps of fabric everywhere now. Just make sure to vacuum every few days to get all the little hairs and pieces of foam off the floor :)

AAA this nose and head in general is gorgeous!!! I have made my one head with foam board for support and LOTS of layered fleece, but real foam is coming in the mail so I can make a proper head. I can’t wait!

You can't be too young to be a furry, I've been a furry since I was 9! As long as you like anthropomorphic animals and want to consider yourself a furry, then you are one!

Tysm for this! Im remaking an old fursuit and wanted to make the nose pickable unlike the first version. Didnt do this the exact same way bc the nose was one of a goat cat hybrid and thus was way smaller. Im trying to move from mq suits to hq suits and this is a big step for me

I know this was posted a year ago but it's still extremely helpful! I have a suit head that's made of plastic, which in turn the face doesn't have much space. Best ventilation: nose. Some from the eyes and mouth, but this gave me a good idea how I can work on it. Glad you where the first suggested video! And giving tips for those who do hand sew, I thank you, personally like hand sewing on face fur and sewing machines broken.
Great tutorial! I like that you included the stitches you used. A lot of tutorials don't talk about stuff like this because it's basic knowledge but for newer fursuit makers this might be new information and a lifesafer, haha! Keep up the good work~

@@freckledcatcreations Yeah haha, back when i was making my first fursuit (at the beginning of 2016) the number of tutorials was WAY lower than nowadays and pretty much all of them were incomplete. It was a lot of work getting all the info i need, so i'm always happy to see in depth tutorials ^^

absolutely yes!!!! i worry so much when I see sharpies used since fursuit spray is alcohol based and would make them run... I'm really enjoying the crayola washable ones.
@@minicloud737 I personally have a hate relationship with chalk, I dislike how you can't get a very sharp line for chalk most of the time, and my hands are always dry already so chalk makes it worse XD I'm happy it works for you!
@@freckledcatcreations i've used chalk when im making plushies and it always wipes off while im cutting out the pieces, and im not confident enough with me sewing to put them into the wash and have them come out in one piece lol (also i just found your channel and i love it!)

If I ever make any actual plugs I'll record it! These were just basically big earrings that stuck on via magnets lol. Im so glad you think theyre easy to understand! thats my goal!!
I love pickable nose they have just seemed adorable to me thanks! But imagine a pickable nose combines with a squeaker in the nose some where it's sounds very cute to me.
If you don't want your end threads to show, sometimes you can also tie it off before cutting it and slip it inside the head again, Pull it tight and trim and when it releases it leaves the ends tucked inside the head instead of exposed. :D (learned this while making plushies)
thank you! i'm not sure how to do that method with how I tie the thread to a previous stitch though. it might not be possible. I try not to just make a knot in the thread by itself, since it's in danger of being pulled through the weave of the fur/fabric with enough force!

oh yeah, I tried to find the easiest way to make these and still get a really nice result! if you just have a bit of ingenuity you can get away from having to ladder stitch some seams (which is less strong than other stitches) !

To sew the seams on the nose, I use a backstitch, but to sew the nose onto the head I use a ladder stitch! i have a hand sewing video if you need it too.
As soon as I've got a commission that has accessories I'll try to film!! its hard to find time to make random stuff that doesnt pertain to what im paid to work on, but i'll film stuff as soon as im able! any specific accessories? i already did a magnetic stress mark tutorial that can be used for a lot of simple slap-on accessories. anything else?
@Freckled Cat Creations Would stuff like collars, earrings, nose rings, etc be possible? Just a bunch of the common stuff. I know some people use belts for collars but how would you go about adding stuff like name tags?
And now...this is how people make this crazy but epic looking hyenas with awesome nose rings (ik other species have them but hyenas are just- for the example lol)
You could also do the nose before attaching the fur and then turn it inside out and attach it to the fur that way so that you wont see the stitching C:

I have never gotten anyone asking for a quote for them, so as of now, no plans in sight for a snake or skulldog! but I honestly would LOVE to make a snake someday.

Why don’t more makers use washable markers?? Seems better than sharpies tbh. Even if they do bleed when you wash the suit it will be completely gone.

To sew the seams on the nose, I use a backstitch, but to sew the nose onto the head I use a ladder stitch! i have a hand sewing video if you need it too.

As soon as I've got a commission that has accessories I'll try to film!! its hard to find time to make random stuff that doesnt pertain to what im paid to work on, but i'll film stuff as soon as im able! any specific accessories? i already did a magnetic stress mark tutorial that can be used for a lot of simple slap-on accessories. anything else?

Would stuff like collars, earrings, nose rings, etc be possible? Just a bunch of the common stuff. I know some people use belts for collars but how would you go about adding stuff like name tags?

You could also do the nose before attaching the fur and then turn it inside out and attach it to the fur that way so that you wont see the stitching C:

Also, do you plan on making a snake or skulldog fursuit in the future? I want to make a snake fursuit but there aren't many reptile tutorials and I can't afford a fake wolf skull so i want to make the skull from foam
I have never gotten anyone asking for a quote for them, so as of now, no plans in sight for a snake or skulldog! but I honestly would LOVE to make a snake someday.
