smoking has got to be the coolest thing in movies/tv, regardless of its health problems.

@joseortiz3582 don't worry,it's a comment from the past, i quit smoking cigarettes three and a half months ago. They became too expensive for me, i switched back to my old Hobby, analog photography, and i never smoked a cigarette since.

Does anyone know the name of the song at 0:57? Or maybe the movie name. It looks like it's the soundtrack of that party played in the background
The song is 'Band of Gold' by Don Cherry, featured in the Mad Men pilot (2007)
I saw a movie that a lady sit in a resturant and the manger asks the waiter if he told the lady that smoking is not allowed and he said that he told her but she refused after that the manger asks the lady to stop smoking but she said something very strong

Great work here, did you research all the clips yourself or was there a list of these examples somewhere? Also my curiosity to research this topic came after watching The Royal Tenenbaums. Intresting that you used that as an example here hah!
Thanks, Harrison! The Royal Tenenbaums certainly does have some great examples. I researched these films myself over a year or so, as I couldn't find anything that had been written on the subject previously. The TV Tropes website was a useful resource at times, if you're looking for lists, although I was mostly just investigating certain genres and directors that I thought would be relevant. If you do end up exploring the subject further, please let me know! I'd certainly be interested hearing your thoughts.
@@roshanjoshua3012 I would like to speak to you more about this video essay! Coincidence that I am doing my dissertation on the same topic.
