Such a lovely, lovely lady. So talented, so beautiful, such a voice. Though I have yet to see her perform, I have adored her on record and film since I first discovered I&S in the late 1960s. I wish more people knew what fundamental pioneers she (and Ian) were to the folk scene and music in general. (I understand it was they who introduced both Gordon Lightfoot and Das Bob around in the dawn days of Greenwich Village .) Great to see her in this great video. May she prosper for many years to come.

Wow! What a treat to discover this interview! I have been a huge fan of Ian & Sylvia since I first heard them in 1966. Sylvia has the most amazing voice, her vibrato is so rich and perfectly appropriate for the kind of music she sings, it touches my soul! I still listen to Ian & Sylvia regularly. Until recently, I lived in "tornado alley" in the Great Plains, and occasionally a visitor to my music room would ask why there were about six CDs sticking out about an inch from the rest along my many shelves of music. I would reply . . . whenever there is a tornado warning I grab my Bible and those six CDs before heading to my tornado shelter under the landing of my stairs. One of those CDs was Ian & Sylvia's Greatest Hits!

I really like this lady. Sylvia Tyson is an understated legendary performer, singer and song writer who doesn't seem to have a big ego! She's just a very talented creative artist who loves what she does. She looks fabulous by the way and years younger then her age. A good life.

Saw Ian and Sylvia at Randolph Macon in Lynchburg in 1965. The guys were crazy for her and the girls were all in love with Ian.
They were excellent and right on the money on their songs. Have everything they ever did. I have all their stuff in vinyl and CD's.
Both were their on person and together they cannot be matched.

I went to Fordham University in the Bronx NY. I remember seeing posters that Ian & Sylvia were playing at the Campus Center many times. Never knew they were as good as they were. Too bad I never got to see them there since I was a local kid who went home every night. Four Strong Winds is one of my favorite songs!

Is Sylvia still living somewhere? It is 4/9/22. I adore her . Ian said jokingly she is "bossy" . I am 77 and single. You can bossy me anytime honey. By the way I have several of you 33lps and saw you and Ian first on black and white t.v. in the 60s Hootenanny weekly folk show. I was in high school. Your voice blew me away...
