My brother played guitar for Ian for a short while. Like Gordon Lightfoot - Ian was one of our homegrown heroes who STAYED here - and we miss them both . . .
You’re darn right sir …. Along with Neil and Stomping Tom they brought Canada 🇨🇦 to the limelight light internationally …. World class super talented song writers , musicians and artists ….. there should be a Canada Day assigned to all of them …🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Nice job fellas. I've heard many versions of this song over the years - including the original when it first came out. Your's is right up there with the best!
I acquired "Four strong winds " on LP a few years back. Ian and Sylvia. Funny how on the cover he looks more like a beatnick then than the later cowboy image.
Just visited the saloon where Tyson's guitar and hat still occupies the stage in Longview, AB. "Longview bard"! Of course, this was a decade before he settled down to ranching life in the early 1970s.
Well now you all are the Sung Heros. Great version. I've been on a 24/7 melancholy song thing recently...heartbreak thing 💔. This ain't helping but anyway....
This is the most beautiful version of this song I’ve heard! I’ve loved you and Todd live but this studio quality and full band is fantastic. I want you guys on vinyl so I can enjoy you here in Germany 😅
Oh Rick, this is just beautiful! I have also loved this song, and have sung it through the years...cannot love Judy Collins enough. But you guys did a wonderful job of this. The sound and studio are beautiful. Best of luck on all of your endeavors....
Beautiful song. Superb recording! Your voice just keeps getting better. Hats off to the band and Bruce's stand out pedal steel. Looks like a great new studio. Love to visit sometime.
This is a fantastic cover of a favorite song of mine. I appreciate the effort to turn the gender on this one as it's always appeared impossible to me. I kept trying to figure how she could be the rodeo cowboy. I guess I wasn't smart enough to see what you did; congrats! I may have to use this idea since I have always had to introduce the song by saying that it can't be worked the other way, so I'll just sing the original and the audience can either imagine I'm a woman or that this is a "Brokeback Mountain" kind of thing. Great band; you guys are amazing. You're so steady you're either supermen or running a click-track. Which is it? Inquiring minds want to know.
May not be the Eagles of the 70’s but still great music and harmonies ,Meisner, And Frey are gone past Don Felder got moved out but they still sound like the Eagles
Why is there so much GREAT music here?!! ❤❤❤

Great Canadian artists who wrote great songs covered by so many other artists.
Who is your brother? I`ve known all Ian`s sideman?

I was very surprised a few years ago to learn Ian wrote 'Four Strong Winds'. And now I learn he wrote this classic. Just wow!

@@jaredclawson1813Ian and wife Sylvia had a tv show when I was young. Had great artists on it ( believe Bob Dylan appeared once).

Great version
Uh, no, he's hitting the notes but there's no sweetness and light. Sorry
You know, sometimes the cover of a song turns out even better than the original. This is one such case. Glad to see you still killin' it Mr. Watson!!
I've covered this for years based on the Suzy Bogguss version
This one is great!

Actually written by Sylvia Tyson, Ian’s wife at the time
No, it`s all Ian`s "write"
Maybe some confusion wirh a song Sylvia wrote: "You Were On My Mind," covered with some alterations it become a hit for We Five.
