I don't understand why Saucony never gets any love on these types of videos...I've never found another training shoe better than the Endorphine speed/pro
For the record, the Speed almost made this ranking😅 It’s fast, comfy, and reasonably lightweight. My knock on the Speed, however, is that it loses its bounce a bit more quickly than the shoes on this list.
Yeah I would put Sauc. Ep3 at top for long tempo runs, legsaving, and pushing max pace. Strangely, the softening and lazifying of the foam does bother me on ES but not on EP3. Maybe the stiffer plate retains enough aggression. Superblast is a close second for me too in this category And raceday. I am a powerful heelstriker who slams feet to ground. HM is ok in any shoe, but after 30km, any soft heel kills me. Superblast stays good for heelstrikers, as u said.
Switching to barefoot shoes was a game-changer for me. They let my feet move naturally, which helped improve my posture and balance. Over time, I noticed my feet and legs getting stronger too. I wear Hykes Escapes, and they’re comfortable, minimalist, and durable. It’s like getting back to the way our feet are supposed to work. What do you think about barefoot shoes?
@@lorenzoquirante8685 Yeah I'll probably try the whole line. I guess the max became the normal 2? The max 2 became it's own updated thing. Then the Pro just got some upgrades too?
Talking of shoes which are hard to find, I couldn't get hold of the Asics Superblast either. Asics don't seem to be responding to demand in some countries. In UK & Australia for example the demand for Superblast outstrips the supply. C'mon Asics ship more shoes to places where your shoes are in big demand. 😉😢
wich workout shoe should I get, if I run 5k (once to twice a week) regularly. Up to 10k on occasion, but rarely. I don't train to compete in races. I ran for my cardiovascular fitness and for the fun of it. I like to do a normal (to sometimes even slower) pace 30% of the time, and the other 70% I like to run faster, to see what time I can get at the 5k. I do this beside my main sport, wich is strenght training at the gym (4-5 times a week). I'm 187cm (6'1,5) and weigh around 80kg, but aim to go up to 85kg over the next month/year. So I like a allround workhorse that can supports me with enough cushion but isn't too slow and heavy for that faster runs.
Hey there, here are a few suggestions for you. These shoes are all solid for training, can last a long time (maybe with the exception of the Clifton), and are responsive enough for workouts. Nike Invincible Run 3 ASICS Nimbus 26 On Cloudsurfer Next New Balance 1080 V14 Brooks Glycerin Max It often comes down to preference (some people like Nike, others New Balance, HOKA, etc.), so I suggest you test these pairs out at a running store before making a final call.
@@marathonhandbook thanks for your suggestion, really appreciate it! I've already stumble over the Invicible, the Nimbus and the 1080 during my research. These seem all to be very max cushioned shoes. Am I able to go a bit faster in these also? And don't get me wrong, i do run since about 8 years now (but only 1 time a week for the most part, on and off), but was never into the shoe game. I ran about 5 years in my old Nike Free's (but was a lot lighter back then) :D And now 2 Years in my Nike Pegasus 38. Just lately realized how much of a difference a shoe can make in running.
You said the Superblast 2 is a shoe for heel and midfoot strikers because it meets you where you at and does'nt put you on your toes thrusting you foward. I have the Superblast 2 and I'm a forefoot striker it puts me exactly where I land on the balls of my feet. Then almost immediately, the late toe rocker propells me forward. The best max forefoot striking shoe I ever owned. You can't categorize shoes according to how you footstrike because due to many factors everybody has different experiences. Plus, you're a midfoot striker, so how do you know what works for a forefoot striker. Also, if you call the Superblast a do everything shoe, there's nothing wrong in making it a top shoe in multiple categories like daily training. All these soft cushion shoes you have as best daily trainers just make your legs work harder and therefore make your legs feel less fresh for the rest of the day and subsequent runs thereafter.
I thought it was easy to get your hands on a prime x 2 strung. I am already 800k down my pair and just now the sole starts to give up on me on the rear outside. (heel striker over here) This is a very comfy, and fast shoe! Suited for all types of training. Would recommend for all your runs faster than 12k per hour. If you go slower, your running feels unnatural due to the high stack.
The Ultraboost I found to be a bit squishy, but a good option for people who are into a soft sneaker. As for the Endorphin Pro, I'd call it more of a racing shoe than a workout shoe. We also ranked racing shoes (though, the Pro received the short end of the stick): ruclips.net/video/K3RzomhBpJ8/видео.html
Thanks for the heads up! It’s Alex here, and I’m a pronator myself - off the top of my head, the HOKA Arahi 7 and the ASICS GEL-Kayano 31 are solid stability shoe options. That said, we will take that video idea into consideration, and perhaps talk about it in more depth down the line.
@@marathonhandbook The Prime X v1's are the most fun you can have on a slab of foam. The v2's were garbage compared to the v1's. BTW, we've shared coaches.
Hey, it’s Alex. I’ve mostly run in them on the road, though I find them just fair on grass - I tend to like shoes with shorter stack heights when running on grass or other uneven terrain, because they feel less wobbly.

@@marathonhandbook that I can agree with, I rarely get 400 great miles out of them...but the first 250-300 are incredible
The speeds 4s hurt my feet soo bad.. Saucony had the been the worse for me
The speed 4 is so good at so many different things, I love them. Mine are wearing a bit quicker than the 3s though.

Love the Cloudmonster Hyper - my favourite improvement from the CM 2's would be the wider toe box
@kosukemedia I think we need your cameo to happen in the Cloudmonster Hyper
Saucony speed 1,2,3 or 4

I love the Skyward X
It’s a beast!
@@marathonhandbook I actually ran a 5 min mile in it before I realized it wasn't meant for speed
I thinking about trying Skyward X

Saucony endorphine speed 2 is the best for me. It still feels great after close to 1200 km. I'm 130 lb.
Haha, I guess I'm old fashioned. I just still like the Kinvara. I also liked the old Hyperion Max, so I'm nervous about the 2 having a plate.
I don’t think you’re alone in liking the “old fashioned” workout shoes. Not everybody has been fully able/willing to adapt to this maximalist wave.

Adidas SL2 might fit I to this category. One hell of a good shoe.
What would you recommend for interval workout at the track ?

Any idea when the superblast 2 will be on sale? Havent been able to find any for most of the summer. Thank you!

Would you say that the Novablast would suit me, since I don't go for that long runs?
